it was the teams first practice and they were all really excited to start. they were warming up, skating around the rink and shooting some pucks to warm up the goalies.

"so, jayde," averman said walking up to her post.

"sorry, not interested." she responded getting her helmet back on.

"man, i tried."

soon the coach walked in.

"alright, 20 sprints, blue line to blue line. mendoza, use your brakes." he demanded and then scattered laughs went around.

"guys it's not funny." luis said.

"you're right," dasia responded as they all skated over a spot on the blue line. "it's sad."

they all laughed again.

"no more talking!" the coach said.

"way to kill the fun." kenny said.

"ken, how about you do thirty sprints."

"man. why'd i have to open my mouth."

they did their twenty sprints and ken did his thirty. the team got split in half and they played a few games together. coach had them condition and made them do another twenty sprints.

they all headed back to the locker room, "man, that was a great first practice." russ said.

"yeah." guy said.

coach walked in behind them, "that an easy, simple practice, tomorrow we do more, not just sprints. we will be learning and practicing new techniques and sprinting post to post."

the locker room filled with "ughs".

"now," he went on, "there is only on locker room here out by the ice but, i'm sure the boys will respect the girls' privacy. if hear from one of the girls that they were being bothered by one of you boys, that person will be kicked off the team. understood?"

the boys nodded yes.

"our first game is next week against the bears, to play you have to have a b or above, or else you're benched." he walked up to the bulletin board and pinned a paper to it. "here are your official positions."

they all went up to the bulletin to see where they were placed, no one seemed to have a problem with where they were.

"what's tbd?" kenny asked.

"it's not tbd, it's tibid. he just missed two letters." jacob reed said.

"um, no jacob, it's tbd." dasia said and jacob let out a small oh as they all looked to see the three letters placed beside team captain.

they all got out of there gear and got dressed to go home.

they all said there goodbyes. jayde, kitty and dasia all went to spend the night at kittys house.

at katharines house

"you're kidding right?" jayde said to kitty.

"no. i wish i was." she responded. "he said that luis said that dean likes you."

"now the question is, do you like dean?" dasia asked.

"no, i would if he didn't vape."

"yeah, but i mean maybe when he realizes that it effects him and he probably won't be able to play for the nhl then he'll quit." jayde stated.

dasia and kitty laugh but knew she was right.

"so did you guys hear about andrews party?" dasia said taking a drink of her water.

"yes."
"no."

jayde and kitty responded.

"when is this?" kitty asked.

"andrew the junior, right?"

"yes ma'am." dasia told jayde. "and it's next friday. the boys said they're going. and are you guys going or..... do i have to beg?"

"i hate parties but...." jayde said rolling her eyes.

"me too, but luis asked me to go with him."

"wait, what!?" jayde and kitty both exclaimed.

"when was this and why am i just now hearing about this!?" jayde said.

"this was yesterday but i just told him i probably wasn't gonna go. i didn't wanna be rude."

"oh. so you're not going?" kitty said sitting up.

"luis seems like he actually really likes you."

"jayde, we just met. this isn't love at first sight." dasia says.

"das, luis is like, 'dasia, you look so pretty.'" jayde said trying to impersonate luis.

"yeah and, 'i love you're outfit, your hair looks so pretty.'" kitty did the same.

they all burst out into laughter.
