Soloist Min's Home Address is Leaked in an Unexpected Onslaught of Hate and Slander Just Days Before her Birthday.

July 10th, 2021 by S. Kim
━━━━━━━━━━

And, what's worse: it may have been planned for months.

A reported thousands of accounts spammed various social media apps this morning with disturbing messages and threats, all aimed towards degrading soloist Jeon Eunbyul, known by her stage name Min. They came in hoards, each message saying something graphic and/or disturbing. Most of the slander was directed towards the artist's reported weight gain since her album HEADLINES's release in early 2019.

In case you are unaware, after Min returned from her hiatus late 2018, netizens were quick to point out that she'd gained a bit of weight, saying the abs she'd once had had flattened into a "bit of a bump". They'd gone unnoticed for the most part, until today. These accounts brought it back to light, claiming that she'd "really let herself go", "isn't putting in the same effort as she did before", and that "Min got lazy since headlines".

These same accounts all also pushed on the idea what she is using the hate as an excuse to "act reckless and careless" present day, and that she was faking being hurt the entire three month hiatus. They even go so far as to claim that she uses people in her life, with one user claiming, "[Min] just uses our Jimin for fame", and that "she never treats him kindly and its clear she only hurts his feelings with her 'humor'". Min has been in a public relationship with Jimin of BTS as of January 2018.

On Twitter, users reported they had difficulty using the app without seeing what seemed like spam bots come up every time they refreshed their feed, even after blocking several accounts at a time. The sudden rate at which these comments occurred had led fans to believe this may had been planned; but what happened next only instilled that belief.

A user, who's account has been deleted since posting, released images of the soloist exiting and leaving an apartment over the course of multiple days. Disturbingly, in each picture, the artist's address was very clearly seen. But in case that somehow wasn't enough, the user had also typed out the address in every post, as well as what'd she'd done during her outing. The tweets were liked and shared by hundreds of accounts, before being taken down. There is currently being an investigation done towards figuring out who ran the account.

After further investigation, most of these accounts were linked to multiple group chats, where all the users had previously planned out what messages to post and when, even going so far as to have created multiple accounts for the occasion. It was many of these accounts that shared the original post that exposed Min's address. The earliest messages date all the way back to April of this year, which may explain the large masses.

Min's company, B2M Entertainment, has released their own statements regarding the situation. B2M's official newsletter has been translated to:

❝ This is B2M Entertainment regarding the
serious threats and leaks of our artist, Min's,
private information. These threats are not

taken lightly, and legal action is currently being
taken towards any users who spread false
information or comments with malicious intent. ❞

An hour afterwards, BTS' Jimin, mentioned earlier as the soloist's significant other, took to his Weverse account to release his own statement on the matter, which shocked many, as Min herself has not said anything about the threats and doxxing as of right now. This seemingly out of character move from BTS's lead vocalist and main dancer quickly garnered a lot of attention. Roughly translated, his post reads:

❝ Hi everyone, Min is currently with me, safe.
I'm coming on here on her behalf to tell
you all that this is not okay. She called me this
morning, worried and scared that she
wasn't safe anywhere anymore. Do you know what that
does to someone, when someone you love feels
scared out of their mind, and you can't do anything
to fix it?

Do not pretend you have all done this on my
behalf. You have not. Words cannot describe how
upsetting and scary this situation has been for
all of us here. She can't go back to her apartment

alone anymore, to where her belongings are, to where
her pets are. She's scared to leave. We're back to
where we started three years ago, and it makes
me sick. Are you all happy?

To anyone who participated in this or knew beforehand
of the attack, you've achieved nothing. It seems
you haven't learned anything, because the
Min that I know and love always rises on top, no
matter what.

You won't get anything more from me.
Thank you. ❞

Fans were shocked, but not surprised, at the strict tone of his message, which heavily contrasts his usually happy, soft personality he has with his fans. Since uploading the post, fans of both artists, the BTS ARMY and Min's Bits, worked towards drowning out any and all hate on Twitter's feed by spreading the hashtags #weloveyoumin and #minisperfect in hopes to raise her spirits. It seems to have worked as of now, as Twitter and other social media sites have seemingly gone back to normal. The fans are outraged at the malicious and derogatory remarks being made about their idol, and some are even wondering if Min will go on another hiatus.

username i'm just.. speechless.

β€· username you and me, both.

username I HATE EVERYONE SO MUCH JUST GIVE MIN A BREAK LIKE WTF??????

username Did people not learn from Headlines? God, this is so pathetic.

username dude i've never seen jimin sound that upset. it's so intimidating. for good reason, obviously. boyfriend of the century award goes to 😌

username the chills i got from "we're back to where we started three years ago, and it makes me sick". jimin is such an icon i love him so much.
β€· username taking lessons from tae lol

username is it too early to say that B2M has already failed min? kinda funny how jimin had more to say than them lol.

username not even the hate she got during the doy era has ever made me more upset than seeing the slander min is getting right now. yes, min did gain weight after her dream of you era. yes, she did lose her "muscled build" and "toned abs." that's because she took care of herself during her hiatus. she stopped caring so much about keeping the body she should've kept and more about the body she wanted. she even admitted that the only reason she had a good body before was because of the pressure to keep one, and it wasn't healthy to her physically, mentally, and emotionally. she's happier and she's healthier, and that's all that fucking matters.  if it took jimin, the sweetest person in the world, to write a lengthy post on weverse to get you all to stop talking about her body, then you know you guys fucked up. jimin won't tolerate your body shaming, so save it. min's doing better than you'll ever be. <\3
β€· username dude, i will be so fucking mad if this pressures min into losing weight.

username I hope none of us right now feel like we failed Min, because we didn't. nobody knew this was going to happen. We did what we could once we found out about the hate and i'm so proud of all the bits right now.
β€· username Also thank you to all the Army who helped too πŸ˜™

username just a month after she released first man? and just DAYS before her birthday, too? you guys have no fucking soul, go rot in hell.

username we all owe min an apology. rn.
