it was a few weeks after the birthday party, and the triplets and paisley all went on with their lives as normal.

paisley had noticed that recently she started feeling more nauseous than usual and it was usually after eating. sometimes she would throw the food back up right after eating. along with the nausea, she also noticed that she had a loss of appetite.

the last thing that paisley noticed was her lack of period. and paisley wasn't the only one who noticed her symptoms.

all of the triplets noticed it. matt was the first one to notice it after she rushed out of bed and to the bathroom one night and woke matt up.

matt laid on his back with paisley laying on his chest tracing the tattoos on his arm. the two of them laid in silence until matt broke it.

"you know you can tell me anything right? you were always able to and always will be able to." matt sid as he rubbed paisley's waist with his thumb.

paisley tensed up as she knew what he was referring to. "matt..." she sat up.

matt sat up following her. "im serious, pais. no matter what. we're in this together." matt grabbed paisley's hand.

"i don't know. i mean all the signs point to pregnancy. but maybe im just getting sick. my periods have always been irregular. you know that." paisley said addressing the elephant in the room. the two sat in silence as matt thought of what to say.

"whats the worse that could happen if you were pregnant?" matt asked. paisley looked at her boyfriend as if he had three heads.

"you leaving." she said. matt rolled his eyes and pulled paisley onto his lap so she was straddling him.

matt pulled her into a soft kiss that held nothing but love and affection. they both pulled away and matt leabed his forehead against paisley's.

"i will never leave you and you know that."

paisley shook her head and opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by matt.

"i know kids weren't apart of the plan right now. but i don't care. i will help you and stay by your side no matter what, paisley. i've said if before and ill say it again. you're not alone in this." matt held his girlfriend's face in his hands to make sure she wasn't avoiding eye contact.

paisley nodded and smiled at her boyfriend before finally speaking. "i don't even know, matt. i have to call my doctor and take a test to make sure." paisley knew not to trust pregnancy tests because false positives and negatives happen often. she wanted an accurate result so she thought that a blood and urine test at the doctors would be more reliable.

matt nodded and paisley leaned to the side and grabbed her phone to schedule an appointment with her doctor.

matt had taken paisley to her appointment and waited in the room with her as they waited for her doctor to come back with the results for tests and ultrasound.

paisley's doctor walked in with an unreadable expression on her face.

"so paisley, you aren't pregnant." paisley and matt relaxed a bit but paisley knew there was something else wrong so she let her doctor continue.

"there were cancer cells found in your blood and urine. im sorry."

matt's world stopped. there was no way those words were just spoken.

paisley looked at matt who was already looking at her.

"nope. im fine. perfectly fine and healthy." paisley said with a smile on her face. "pais." matt said. "this is serious."

paisley looked at matt with disbelief written all over her face. "what are you talking about, matt? im being serious. im fine. i dont have cancer."

paisley turned to her doctor. "i dont have cancer. right? that was just some joke and im actually just pregnant. if you told us that because you think we can't take of a kid, you're wrong. cause we can. please say it was some joke." paisley's voice cracked as she finished her rant. matt reached over and grabbed the hand of the distressed girl in hopes of comforting her.

the doctor stepped out when paisley let the tears run down her face.
