chapter six

The (h/c) haired young woman picked up her pace as she trotted like a horse along the quite pavement of what seems like an uninhabited forest. Her alarm disappointed her this morning and she overslept, waking up almost two hours after her supposed to be time-in.

To make matters worse, the taxi that she was riding broke down a kilometer away from the Kambe's manor and since it was in some kind of a middle of nowhere, she had no choice but to run the remaining distance.

Her mind generated cursing words in various languages as she started to pant like a thirsty goat. She gritted her teeth in annoyance with her formal heels, taking it off to make herself more comfortable in running. It doesn't matter anymore if her feet is going to get dirty, her mouth is still dirtier from all the swearing and cussing.

A tired yet satisfied smile climbed up her sweat-drenched face after finally getting a decent view of the hotel-like mansion. She practically carried her weight as she walked through the steep road towards the building. As she successfully reached the mansion, she was surprised to see a certain raven haired man standing in front of the finely-sculpted main door. She heaved in a barrel of air before exhaling it hastily, wiping the icky liquid settling on her forehead.

Daisuke silently skimmed through her current appearance and she looked really unpresentable: her hair sticking out everywhere like a bird's nest, her uniform not perfectly ironed with clear patches of coffee marks and she's holding her single-inched heels on her right hand while the other one was resting on the mansion's wall to support her body.

"You're late." She looked up to be eye to eye with the ravenette, her chest still heaving up and down from her catching up with her breath. A shiver tingled on her spine after finally feeling the cold ground against her feet, putting her shoes back on to give it a little of warmth.

"I know. I have a watch-" She realized that she was the one to be at fault here, mentally face palming herself for the inability to control her attitude. She minded her posture and straightened her once arched back before clearing her throat awkwardly.

"-and I'm sorry." Daisuke nodded his head as a response to her apology, extending his hand towards her that was currently holding a pristine white handkerchief that has his initials embroidered on it.

"Fix your self up first."

Her eyes snapped open after hearing someone knocking on her front door. A groan slipped past her from the feeling of dismay of leaving her precious fluffy bed to answer whoever it was that was still knocking outside. She stretched her arms to the fullest extent, pushing her to release a yawn. She did not exert any effort to check her self on the mirror since she doesn't really care who it was that was disturbing her precious sleep and what they will say after seeing her with dried saliva all over her face.

Her feet dragged her body's weight as she finally reached the door, opening it in an unexcited manner. She squinted her eyes since the 6:30 A.M. sun immediately attacked her sight, only to see a rather tall man with a slicked back, dark colored hair patiently waiting for her reaction.

"Wha- What in the world are you doing here?!" Her insides jolted after witnessing the last  person that she'd want to see first thing in the morning outside her own house. Daisuke glanced at her for a quick second, raising his eyebrow in bewilderment to see her in a stained large sando and faded  women's running shorts.

"Can you sleep comfortably in that clothes?"

"WHA-WHAT KIND OF QUESTION- Of course I can! Why? What do you wear when you sleep? A golden brief?-" She paused for awhile to recollect her composure and puffed out an irritated huff since she was now getting conscious on what she wore.

"-hey! I asked you what you're doing in my house! Don't try to skip my question!" She continued before gritting her teeth irritatingly, mentally trying to calm and convince her self that murdering this man will be a waste of energy and cleaning materials.

"I came to pick you up. I don't want you to be late again." Daisuke simply responded  while glimpsing over her living room, his sight shifting from her cheap yet nicely-designed coffee table to the minimal features of her beige wallpaper.

"What the hell are you talking about? It's Sunday." She noticed the boy glancing over the interiors of her humble home that's why she stood on her toes to block his view.

"So? You're my personal writer aren't you? You have no specific schedule." Her lips were pursed which shows disinterest with what he just said. Before she could close the door on his face, Daisuke wrapped his fingers around her fragile wrist and tugged her outside of her house.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS! THIS IS AGAINST MY RIGHTS AS A WORKER!" She protested, wailing like a child who lost her front tooth while playing mindlessly with a spoon. It was a good thing that most of her neighbors were still asleep or else she'll be catching a lot of attention.

Daisuke ignored her childish bawling and continued to carefully pull her towards his vehicle. His steps were halted after feeling her stopping her tracks just a step away from his car. He turned to look on why she suddenly ceased on walking, catching her on the act of almost biting his hand so that he would take his hold away from her wrist.

(Y/N) realized that she was caught in the act before she could even sink her teeth on his unflawed skin. She slowly inched away from his hand, closing her mouth and clearing her throat awkwardly. She fixed her composure as if nothing happened, grinning mischievously to hide the embarrassment that was consuming her.

"Alright, I'll work today even if it's a Sunday.. but-" Daisuke patiently waited for her to continue her sentence. The grin that she had on her face never faded while she heaved in a deep breath, thinking of the right words to add on her statement.

"-if you will be entertained with my magic trick, you will give this day as my day-off." The ravenette raised his eyebrow in bafflement and surprise, his hold around her wrist softening in the process. He was silent for a few seconds, earning a proud huff from the girl in return.

"What? Don't believe me? Are you questioning my skills?" She boasted like some teenage jock in highly budgeted but badly written romcom movies. Daisuke was amused with her shown confidence as he nodded in approval.

"Okay, show me." The young girl beamed in relief after witnessing the man taking his grasp around her wrist away. She clasped her hand enthusiastically before taking in a few quick breaths.

"I want you to pick a number from 1 to 10." The ravenette dug a random number in his mind, picking the number seven afterwards. She balled her hand into a fist before extending her arms closer towards his lips.

"Close your eyes before blowing on my hand and count to 7." He was very reluctant to perform what she ordered him to do but still did it anyway. Her undeniably tantalizing (e/c) orbs were staring directly at him and for some very odd reason, it persuaded him to just go with the flow.

He gently placed both his hands around her smaller one, bewildering the young woman in the process. The warmth of his hands enclosing hers was making her baffle as she silently observed what he was doing. He scanned her expression first before fluttering his ice-blue hued eyes closed.

His lips inched closer towards her hand and blew warm air towards it, releasing his hold around her afterwards and mentally counted up to the number that she asked him to do so. He opened his eyes as he finished his counting, his sight adjusting to the sunlight that was caressing his unflawed face.

He consecutively blink after realizing that she was no longer in front of him. His gaze shifted towards her mundane house, catching her grinning ever so widely while she was waving at him through her window. She carefully opened it before leaning on its frame.

"Have a good Sunday!" She cheerily greeted before closing her window, leaving the ravenette alone outside. Daisuke mentally laughed at his own stupidity, shoving his hand inside the pocket of his slacks. No wonder he heard some steps that sounded like it was running away from him while he was closing his eyes.

He turned his heels away from the young woman's house and proceeded to his car, finally letting her have her day-off.

Afterall, he did enjoyed her magic trick.
