Julie sat at a empty table in the local library with Pride and Prejudice opened in her hands as her blue eyes followed the words on the pages. After while of reading her neatly tucked behind her ears; strands of chestnut hair framed her face.

She felt a pair of eyes on her and looked up to see a boy around her age with blonde hair already looking at her. He quickly adverted his eyes back into a book in his hands, she quirked a eyebrow up at him but soon continued her reading. Forgetting about the encounter moments after.

She'd seen the boy before in a few of her classes but she hadnt even knew his name, let alone talk to him.

After a few moments of silence the blonde boy spoke up, "whatcha readin?" He inquired as Julie glanced up at him and smiled a bit, "Pride and Prejudice, what about you?" She responded quietly as he smiled at her, "Oh im reading Gone With The Wind" he replied his tone bashful, and rubbed his neck nervously with his hand.

"Oh is it good? Ive wanted to read it for a while now." Juliette asked him as he looked at her with his green eyes, and Julie couldn't deny for him being a greaser he was undeniably quite cute. Which mentally made her embarrassed, and her cheeks to flush red.

"Oh yeah its really good" he replied and blushed a little, "what's your name?" She asked as he looked down to the ground and shifted in his seat, "um Ponyboy, Ponyboy Curtis" He answered shyly as Julie giggled a little, "unique I like it" Julie smiled as Ponyboy laughed a little.

Julie looked around at the people surrounding the two as they looked around or were reading books like her and Ponyboy. Thankfully for her no socs were around to see her talking to the greaser boy. So no rumors were going to circulate back to her parents.

"Anyways im Juliette but my friends call me Julie" She introduced herself and Ponyboy nodded a little, "why are you talking to me anyways?" Ponyboy asked her as she furrowed her brows at his question. "do you not want me to talk to you?" She asked with a little laugh and his expression turned into a embarrassed one.

"No thats not what i meant by that sorry" he mumbled as she smiled at him, "all good ponyboy" She replied as he looked up to her and nodded awkwardly, the two went back the quiet silence to reading their separate books.

Julie glanced at the time on her watch and realized it was near 8, "oh shoot, im sorry ponyboy I gotta go. Ill see you around though." Julie grabbed her book and waved goodbye as Ponyboy nodded at her and waved goodbye and watched her leave with a rosie tint creeping onto his cheeks.

Julie raced out of the library and to her house on the south side of town, luckily for her she lived close to the library so she wouldn't have to necessarily run but still speed walk.

Shortly she arrived at her house and prepared to face the wrath of her parents, she stepped through the door to her two worried and impatient parents waiting anxiously at the door. "Oh my goodness Juliette we were worried sick about you!" Juliettes mom squeezed her tightly in a hug as her dad let out a sigh.

"Sorry mom and dad, i lost track of time at the library" she apologized as her parents nodded, her mother gave her a kiss on the top of her head. "Just dont do it again Juliette okay?" Her dad sternly told her as she nodded quickly "i wont i promise." She assured as her parents walked away.

"Oh by the way I saved you some leftovers, they're sitting in the oven honey!" Her mom told her as Juliette nodded and headed to the kitchen. She grabbed the plate of food and sat at the table, and quietly ate her food.

Steven her older brother raced down into the kitchen to grab some water, "mom and dad were about to call the cops" Steven teased as Julie glared at him "bullshit" she replied and picked at her food. Her face contorting into some disgust as she had little appetite for the food.

"Your in trouble though" he smirked as he sipped his water, "no im not?" She rolled her eyes as he shrugged and walked out of the kitchen, Julie let a huff of air out and stared down at the plate. Contemplating she soon scraped the plate off snd made her way upstairs.

She changed into her pjs, told her parents goodnight, and finally slipped into the comfort of her bed. And still giddy about the boy she met today with a unique name called Ponyboy.

yay first chap done, i originally wrote this chapter but it didn't save, and i literally almost had a breakdown but its fine. Anyways back in my outsiders era and Ponyboy is such a cute patootie. Also i want to add that Dally and Johnny are still alive to save my mental health and yours. The time line is about a year after so ponyboy is about 15
