Kyung-jun and Minji special bonus chapter
Minji & Kyung-jun

Minji had always been quiet.

It wasnโ€™t because she was shyโ€”well, maybe a littleโ€”but mostly because she liked watching people rather than talking.

And lately, she had been watching Kyung-jun.

Ever since he transferred to their school, he had this way of pulling attention without even trying.

Boys wanted to be him. Girls wanted to be with him.

And yet, he barely seemed to care.

He was effortlessly cool, and completely unreachable.

So when she was paired with him for the project, Minji thought her heart might explode.

โ€”

The library was quiet except for the occasional sound of pages turning.

Minji sat across from Kyung-jun, twirling her pen in her fingers, trying to focus on the notes in front of her.

He, on the other hand, was completely relaxed, leaning back in his chair, stretching his arms with a lazy smirk.

โ€œWeโ€™ve been here for an hour,โ€ Kyung-jun sighed, โ€œand you havenโ€™t said a word to me.โ€

Minji froze.

Her cheeks flushed.

โ€œIโ€”I just donโ€™t talk much.โ€

Kyung-jun raised an eyebrow. โ€œNot even to your friends?โ€

Minji hesitated. โ€œThey talk enough for me.โ€

Kyung-jun chuckled.

โ€œI bet,โ€ he muttered, shaking his head.

Then, without warningโ€”

He leaned forward, elbows on the table, chin resting on his hand.

โ€œSo, tell me,โ€ he said, his eyes locked onto hers, โ€œwhy do you always look at me like that?โ€

Minjiโ€™s heart stopped.

Her grip on her pen tightened.

He noticed?

She looked away immediately, her face burning. โ€œI-I donโ€™t look at you like anything.โ€

Kyung-jun smirked. โ€œYeah? Because every time I turn my head, youโ€™re staring.โ€

Minji wanted to die.

She shook her head quickly. โ€œIโ€”! I was justโ€”! Itโ€™s not like that!โ€

Kyung-jun laughed, leaning back again.

โ€œYouโ€™re cute when you panic,โ€ he said casually.

Minji swore she almost stopped breathing.

What was she supposed to say to that?!

By the time they finished at the library, the sky had turned a soft orange.

Minji packed her books into her bag, trying not to make eye contact.

โ€œHey,โ€ Kyung-jun called.

She looked up.

โ€œIโ€™ll walk you home.โ€

Minji blinked, stunned.

โ€œYouโ€ฆ donโ€™t have to,โ€ she said quickly. โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€

Kyung-jun rolled his eyes.

โ€œYeah, yeah. But Iโ€™m walking the same way anyway, so letโ€™s go.โ€

Minji bit her lip but nodded, heart racing.

They walked side by side, the late afternoon breeze making her uniform skirt sway slightly.

It was quiet at first.

Then, Kyung-jun glanced at her. โ€œSo, whatโ€™s your deal?โ€

Minji tilted her head. โ€œHuh?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re quiet. You keep to yourself. But you hang around people like Na Kyung and Mina.โ€

Minji smiled a little.

โ€œTheyโ€™re nice to me,โ€ she said softly.

Kyung-jun hummed.

โ€œYeah, I can see that. But I donโ€™t think youโ€™re as fragile as you act.โ€

Minji looked up at him, surprised.

โ€œI donโ€™t act fragileโ€ฆโ€

Kyung-jun smirked. โ€œYou sure? Youโ€™ve been blushing since the second I sat down.โ€

Minji groaned, covering her face.

Why was he like this?!

Kyung-jun laughed.

โ€œIโ€™m messing with you, relax.โ€

They walked a little further, the sky darkening.

Then, out of nowhere, Kyung-jun spoke again.

โ€œYouโ€™re different from the other girls here,โ€ he said.

Minji looked up.

โ€œDifferentโ€ฆ how?โ€

Kyung-jun shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets.

โ€œYou donโ€™t try too hard. You donโ€™t act fake. And you donโ€™t throw yourself at me like the rest of them.โ€

Minji stopped walking.

She turned to him, tilting her head.

โ€œโ€ฆDo you hate that?โ€

Kyung-jun blinked.

Then, for the first time, his usual cocky smirk faded slightly.

โ€œโ€ฆNo,โ€ he said honestly.

โ€œI think I like it.โ€

Minjiโ€™s heart skipped a beat.

They stopped at a street corner, the only light coming from the dim glow of a flickering streetlamp.

Minji felt nervous, but alsoโ€ฆ warm.

Kyung-jun watched her for a moment before speaking again.

โ€œYouโ€™re kinda weird, you know?โ€

Minji pouted. โ€œThatโ€™s rude.โ€

Kyung-jun grinned.

โ€œBut I like weird.โ€

Minji opened her mouth to respond, but thenโ€”

He reached out and gently flicked her forehead.

โ€œGo inside,โ€ he said, nodding toward her apartment building.

Minji rubbed her forehead, pouting again.

โ€œYouโ€™re annoying.โ€

Kyung-jun chuckled.

โ€œI know.โ€

But as Minji stepped back toward her door, she felt his gaze linger.

And maybeโ€”

Just maybeโ€”

She didnโ€™t mind that at all.

โ€”To be continuedโ€ฆ
