NEW ! CHARACTER UNLOCKED ! ★
Cha Woo Min as Go Kyung-jun
—
The energy in the school shifted the moment he walked in.
New students were rare, and ones that looked like that? Even rarer.
Go Kyung-jun wasn’t just any transfer student—he owned the room the second he stepped inside.
Tall, sharp features, the kind of presence that made people step aside without him even asking.
His uniform was already a little messy—tie loose, blazer unbuttoned, like he couldn’t be bothered.
And the way he walked? Confident.
Dangerous.
Whispers spread through the hallways like wildfire.
“Who is he?”
“Apparently, he got kicked out of his last school for fighting.”
“I heard he’s rich, but doesn’t even live with his family.”
“He looks even scarier than Seung Tae.”
Seung Tae heard that last comment as he strolled down the hall with his friends. His smirk didn’t fade, but his jaw ticked slightly.
Interesting.
A new bad boy?
Tch. There was only room for one.
—
Na Kyung was late to class that morning, so she wasn’t there for the grand entrance.
She just wanted to slip in unnoticed, sit in the back, and survive another day.
But the moment she walked in, she noticed something.
A new seat was taken.
A boy sat in the desk near hers—someone she had never seen before.
He was leaning back, arms crossed, watching the teacher with an expression that said he didn’t give a damn.
As she walked past, his eyes flickered to her.
A quick glance. Sharp. Calculating.
But she didn’t pay him any mind.
She had enough trouble in this school already.
But that didn’t stop him from paying attention to her.
---—
Lunch was where things really started.
Na Kyung had just left the cafeteria, minding her own business, when she heard footsteps falling into place beside her.
She turned slightly—and there he was.
Go Kyung-jun.
Walking next to her.
Not saying anything. Just… there.
She raised an eyebrow. “Can I help you?”
Kyung-jun smirked slightly, shoving his hands in his pockets.
“No.”
She blinked. Okay, weirdo.
“Then why are you walking with me?”
He shrugged. “Why not?”
Before she could respond, a shadow fell over them.
Seung Tae.
Standing directly in their path, expression unreadable.
His usual smirk? Gone.
His eyes flickered between them.
Then, his gaze settled on Kyung-jun.
“You lost?” Seung Tae asked casually, though there was nothing casual about the way he stood—tense, controlled.
Kyung-jun met his gaze without hesitation, completely unfazed.
“No. Just making friends.”
The air grew thick.
Na Kyung watched, feeling the shift.
For the first time, someone wasn’t backing down from Seung Tae.
And for some reason, that didn’t sit right with him.
He let out a small chuckle, tilting his head. “Friends, huh?”
His eyes flicked to Na Kyung for just a second—a flicker of something unreadable.
Then he stepped aside.
But he didn’t look away.
Kyung-jun just smirked, giving a lazy nod before walking off.
Na Kyung hesitated for a moment before following, but she could feel it—
Seung Tae was watching.
And for the first time, he felt something foreign.
Something he didn’t like.
Jealousy.
—
At first, Na Kyung thought it was a coincidence.
The new guy, Go Kyung-jun, just happened to be near her during class.
Just happened to be walking in the same direction.
Just happened to sit at a table near hers at lunch.
But after a week of this?
It was not a coincidence.
“Are you stalking me?” Na Kyung finally asked, stopping in the hallway and turning to face him.
Kyung-jun, who had been walking right beside her again, just smirked.
“That’s a strong word.”
She crossed her arms. “Then explain why you’re always around.”
He shrugged, hands shoved in his pockets. “I find you interesting.”
Na Kyung blinked. “That’s it?”
“That’s it.”
She squinted at him. He was weird.
Not in a bad way, but in a way that made it hard to read him.
Unlike Seung Tae, who was all loud dominance and obvious taunts, Kyung-jun was quiet confidence.
He didn’t force his presence—he just existed near her, like he belonged there.
It was… annoying.
But also kind of impressive.
Na Kyung sighed, rubbing her temple. She was too tired for this.
“Fine,” she muttered. “Whatever. We can be friends.”
Kyung-jun’s smirk grew a fraction. “Oh? Just like that?”
She shot him a look. “You already follow me everywhere. Might as well make it official.”
His eyes flickered with amusement. “I knew you’d come around.”
She scoffed. “Don’t push it.”
But Kyung-jun just chuckled, falling back into step beside her like it was the most natural thing in the world.
And just a few steps away, leaning casually against the lockers, was Seung Tae.
Watching.
Expression dark.
Jaw tight.
And for the first time, he realized something.
Kyung-jun wasn’t just some new kid.
He was a threat.
—
Na Kyung was beginning to think she made a mistake.
Agreeing to be Kyung-jun’s friend? Worst decision of her life.
Because now?
He was even more annoying.
---
Lunch Time —
Na Kyung sat at her usual spot, finally getting a moment of peace.
Then, a tray slid onto the table across from her.
She didn’t even have to look up.
“Go away.”
Kyung-jun chuckled, resting his chin on his hand. “That’s not how you greet your favorite friend.”
Na Kyung deadpanned. “You’re not my favorite anything.”
His grin widened. “You wound me.”
She sighed, taking a bite of her food. Maybe if she ignored him, he’d get bored.
But of course, Kyung-jun was immune to being ignored.
“By the way,” he said, tilting his head, “you eat like a little gremlin.”
Na Kyung nearly choked. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.” He smirked. “Small bites, hunched over like someone’s gonna steal it—real feral behavior.”
She glared. “It’s called minding my business.”
He nodded seriously. “Ah, yes. And here I am, ruining it. Tragic.”
Na Kyung exhaled sharply.
She should’ve just eaten outside.
--—
They were walking to class when Kyung-jun suddenly said, “Hey, hold this.”
Without thinking, Na Kyung reached out, and—
He placed his entire backpack in her arms.
She froze. “…Are you serious?”
He stretched his arms, yawning. “Yeah, my shoulders were getting tired.”
Na Kyung dropped the bag immediately.
Kyung-jun looked down at it, then back at her, eyes filled with mock betrayal.
“Wow. So heartless.”
Na Kyung scoffed. “You have working arms, use them.”
Kyung-jun picked up his bag with a sigh. “And here I thought we were friends.”
She rolled her eyes. “That’s your first mistake.”
—
Na Kyung and Kyung-jun were walking out of class when Kyung-jun suddenly said—
“Shorty, hurry up.”
She whipped around. “Who are you calling short?!”
Kyung-jun just grinned. “You.”
“I am NOT short.”
Kyung-jun raised an eyebrow. “Stand next to me and say that again.”
Na Kyung glared.
Seung Tae, who had been walking by, stopped.
He had never seen someone comfortably mess with Na Kyung like this.
And the fact that she wasn’t immediately punching him?
That annoyed him.
—
Later that day, Seung Tae casually leaned against Na Kyung’s desk and muttered, “You let him live?”
She blinked. “What?”
Seung Tae smirked. “You didn’t kill the new guy. Thought you hated people.”
Na Kyung shrugged. “I do. But he’s like a cockroach. Too annoying to get rid of.”
Seung Tae chuckled, shaking his head.
But deep down?
He wasn’t laughing.
Because every time Kyung-jun teased Na Kyung, every time she rolled her eyes but didn’t walk away—
Seung Tae felt something ugly burn in his chest.
And he did not like it.
