"On behalf of Delta Airlines, the flight crew would like to welcome you to John F. Kennedy International Airport. We will be arriving at the gate momentarily, please remain in your seats with your seat belt securely fastened until the aircraft has come to a complete stop at the terminal gate." Said the pilot as the plane made its way to the terminal.
"We really in muhfuckin New York wit' it! It's lit on gang!" Said Raseem as he stared out the window.
"Young man watch your mouth." Said an old white lady in the seat two rows ahead.
"Old bitch stop talking to me." Raseem mean mugged the old lady.
"Well!" She huffed as she turned back to the front.
Armani frowned even though it was funny, she needed him to know it wasn't right to disrespect people who haven't done anything to them. She told him that he needed to respect people older than him as long as they don't disrespect him, and he especially needed to respect the police, even if he feels disrespected because reality is, they'd shoot his black ass and probably get away with it because the world is a fucked up place and doesn't care for black people in America.
"All imma say is, these old ass white folks need to leave me alone and they won't get there feelings hurt but I hear you." Raseem said as he put his banged up Samsung note 1 in his back pocket.
"Rah how come your momma got an updated phone and all but all you got is this fucked up shit?" Nasir asked.
Raseem shrugged his shoulders. "My momma say she can't afford it, ion really care though, the shit still work so I'm good I guess."
Armani smiled at his humbleness but Nasir frowned knowing that his mother wasn't really a good person. She went missing for weeks at a time leaving Raseem to care for herself and Raseem's father was out in the world taking care of his favored family forgetting his son. She not only went missing for weeks, but whenever the child care checks came in she made sure to use them on herselfβ telling everyone who asked that Raseem "don't need no money, I need this shit more than him."
Raseem proceeded to get up when the seatbelt sign turned off and grab his suitcase, he didn't have a check in bag or anything else besides his book bag because he didn't grow up with much since his mom used his child care for her own gain. He waited for Nasir to grab his and Armani's over head bags while Armani carried Savior and they joined the line to get off the plane. Once they got off the plane, they went to the baggage claim area and got their other 2 bags and stroller. After they got their bags, Nasir grabbed the luggage carrier and put the bags on while Armani put Savior in his stroller. After they did everything they needed to do, they went up to the garage where Nasir's G-Wagon sat waiting.
"Which car we getting in? That one?" Asked Raseem pointing at a 1987 Honda Accord.
"Nawl man." Said Nasir as he pressed the unlock button causing the G-Wagons lights to light up.
"Damnnn, this you?" Asked Raseem as he sped walked up to the car looking into the tinted glass.
"Yuh lil nigga." Nasir smiled as he opened the trunk. "Give me your bag so we can go."
"What he do for a living?" Raseem turned towards Armani. "He a drug dealer?" He attempted to whisper but Nasir heard.
Armani laughed. "No he's not a drug dealer."
"You sure cause how this nigga got a car like this?" Raseem asked. "Nicest car I seen roll by our street was a Chrysler 300."
"Im a business man fool, I own a tattoo shop." Nasir said laughing as Raseem took in his words.
"Damn, being a business man get you shit like this? Here I was thinking I was gon become a king pin or some shit." Raseem said standing out the car still in amazement.
"Fool stay away from all that drug shit, I mean that, shit will fuck yo whole future up so stay away." Nasir said in a stern tone.
"I know nigga." Raseem waved him off.
"Youon know shit, you just said you was gon be a king pin, shut that dumb ass shit up." Nasir said.
"I heard you nigga." Raseem said.
"Nas calm down, rah get into the car." Armani said as she strapped Savior in his car seat and got in.
"Oh right." Raseem said as he got in the back. "This shit nice, leather seats, mane my momma car ain't got shit on this with her pissy ass car seats."
Armani chuckled. "At least you're not walking everywhere."
"Yes the hell I am, and if I don't walk, I'm on my bike and them hood niggas tried to steal that shit a week ago." Raseem shook his head. "Can't wait till I get out of Chicago mane."
"I feel you," Nasir said as he got into the driver side. "Just work towards your goals." He pressed the push start and put the car in drive driving out the garage and onto the high way.
"Best believe that, I told them niggas I'm gon leave one day and they ain't believe a nigga, watch my come up though." Raseem mumbled to himself as he pulled out his phone. "Man this trifling ass woman ain't pay the phone bill, my shit turned off." He frowned.
"This woman..." Nasir shook his head as he did a U-Turn. "You know what we finna do? We finna go upgrade you and put you on our plan."
"Naw you don't got to do all that." Raseem shook his head reclining back in his street. "It's straight."
"But we're going too." Armani looked at him through the rear view. "Don't get jacked when you go back to Chicago."
"Mane they not jacking shìt, they know who my cousin is aint that right Nas?" Raseem said.
Nasir chuckled. "Nigga you a fool."
They pulled up to Verizon, went in, and completed the long process to upgrading and getting a new phone, they also added Raseem to their plan and sat back while Raseem picked out a phone. Raseem didn't want to pick an extremely expensive phone so he went with the XR in red and they put the chip in. After his phone was turned on, they left Verizon and made their way home.
"This shit nice." Raseem said as soon as they stepped foot into the penthouse. "Where's my room?" He asked as he took his shoes off by the door not wanting to track dirt in.
"Follow me." Nasir said.
The two walked up the stairs and went to the end of the hall opening the door to the guest bedroom.
"This shit fye on gang." Raseem said dropping his bags as he looked around. "Yo this closet triple the size of mine."
Nas chuckled. "We finna ride out in a bit and get chu some mo clothes, settle in and get a feel of the place, look around and allat good shit."
Raseem nodded his head lying back on the bed staring at the ceiling. "Man I just know I'm finna hate life when I go back, why can't I live like this?"
"Work for it la nigga, anybody that know me know ian never had shit growing up. Pops made the best out of a trash ass situation and he taught me to work fa want I want, I worked fa what I wanted and he worked fo what he wanted now look at us. Two successful ass niggas the hood said was gon fail." Nasir said.
"Yeah I hear you,"
"Imma let you settle in, I'm finna help my lady unpack and get Say to bed so she can chill." Nasir said making him nod his head.
Nasir walked out the room and jogged down stairs to get the bags. He saw that there was only 2 more bags downstairs so he grabbed them both and brought them to the room. Armani was already unpacking her stuff while Savior laid awake staring at her when he walked in so he helped to quicken the process. Once all the clothes were back in their places neatly folded or hung, he told Armani his plans to take Raseem shopping.
"That's cool, get him some nice stuff cause he really do deserve it." Armani smiled as she lifted Savior out of his baby swing. "I can tell his childhood wasn't the easiest."
"It wasn't, but alright ma imma see you in a lil bit." He said. "Gimme kiss."
Armani switched the arm she held Savior in and stood on her tip toes giving Nasir a kiss.
"Y'all have fun, me and fatty about to go hang out with my girls." Armani said.
Nasir nodded his head and made his way back to the room Raseem was in.
"You ready?" Asked Nasir.
"Yeah." Raseem said as he grabbed his forces. He had changed his whole outfit and was wearing a white v neck shirt along with some nike joggers.
"Nigga you really changed your whole fit just to go to the mall." Nasir chuckled.
"Yeah nigga, these bitches ain't gon know I'm poor until I tell em." Raseem cheesed. "And I ain't never telling them."
"Man you a damn clown, swear you is."
"Girls like funny niggas which brings me to the question, how you pull Armani? Cause you ain't cute and you fasho ain't funny." Raseem said as they went downstairs.
"She fell in love with my personality and I fell in love with her spirit." Said Nasir as he grabbed his keys and slid on his balenciaga sock shoes by the door. "Youa understand when you get yourself a girlfriend la boy."
"Ionno why you calling me a la boy like my balls ain't drop, my shit dropped at 10 stop playing with me, eva since my shit dropped I started fucking these hoes and them Chicago hoes been on my dick asking for my kids and I'm like slow yo role cause nigga I'm 14, Ian playin daddy to nobody fuck outta here." Raseem said.
"Nigga you a fool." Nasir chuckled. "A real fuckin fool."
"But like I'm deadass, fuck them kids till I'm 20 some ya dig?"
"Nawl ion dig."
"Ya hypocritical ass 25 and gotta kid so yes the hell you do dig." Raseem said.
"The pussy was too fye, I had to." Nasir said.
