𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗛𝗔𝗗 spent the majority of her life in Dublin that was until she turned eighteen, when she moved to Manchester with her mother where she had met her husband Ryan Miller. The two of them married when they were only nineteen and at the age of twenty she fell pregnant with twins. Ryan was the supportive caring husband that was until Elizabeth and Peyton was born and it was like he changed into a complete different person she didn't even recognise him anymore.

Ryan treated Madison horrible as he would beat her and treat her like a slave, Maddie knew she should of left him the first time he hit her but he apologised and promised it would never happen again and she believed him and hoped he would change as he was an amazing father to their daughters but he was a horrible husband and Maddie had enough as while she wanted to keep her family together she needed to put herself and her daughters first so she filed for a divorce.

As soon as the divorce was finalised, she moved to Birmingham with her daughters to live with her sister until she could her own place. The relationship between Emily and Maddie was complicated one, the two of them never really gotten alone when they we're younger but when their mom got really sick and passed away the two sisters ended up having a better relationship as they only had each other to rely on as their father left them when Maddie was only four years old.

Maddie had gotten a job at the Garrisons thanks to Harry, who knew offered her a job as a barmaid as she had gone to get drinks with her sister and the two ended up talking about everything as he was wondering why a beautiful women like herself moved to a place like this when it was clear she didn't fit in but all Maddie wanted to do is to make sure her daughters are going to grow up loved and happy no matter where they are.

At the Garrisons, glasses of liquor clinked as customers at the bar chatted loudly with each other. Maddie walked throughout the bar serving different customers handing them the various drinks they've ordered. Maddie walked behind the bar cleaning up the empty glasses she had collected when she noticed a blonde women sitting at the end of the bar looking around with a curious look on her face.

"You're a new face? What brings you to Birmingham?" Maddie questioned as she placed a glass of whiskey in front of the blonde women. " a fresh start" the blonde women responded causing Maddie eyes to widened at the same Irish accent that she had herself causing her to raise her brows as she hummed in response, " Hmm. That is something I can relate to. I've only been here a couple of weeks myself."

"Oh, really? What made you move here out of all places?" The blonde women asked with a look of interest on her face. " I'm originally from Ireland but when I was eighteen my family moved to Manchester I met my husband there but it didn't work out and when we got divorced I moved here with my daughters to live with my sister until I can get on my feet" Maddie paused seeing that the women was giving her a sympathetic look, " no need to pity me, I love how everything turned out in the end. My ex husband while he was the dotting father he was a horrible husband and I'm glad I got out before it was too late"

"Well, I hope to see you around..." the women trailed off not knowing the barmaid name causing Maddie to smile and reply, " Maddie" the women nodded her head with a small smile, " it's lovely to meet you Maddie and hopefully I'll see you around. I'm Grace by the way" Maddie watched as Grace grabbed her bag before turning on her heel and leaving the pub and not even a couple of minutes later Emily came walking in holding Lizzie and Peyton hands.

"Mommy!" Lizzie called out in excitement rushing over to Maddie with Peyton hot on her heels who immediately pulled her daughters into a tight hug, " Hi, girls. Come on you guys can sit in the back until I finish my shift" Lizzie and Peyton both laughed as they rushed past their mother as Emily sighed folding her arms across her chest, " I'm sorry to tell you this but they got suspended from school"

Maddie eyes widened in shock as she glanced over her shoulder at the twins who was sat by the bar next to an old women before turning her attention back to Emily, " what? Why? What did they do?" Emily shifted awkwardly on her feet looking at her sister and told her, " they set a kids hair on fire" Maddie blinked in shock as ever since moving to Birmingham the girls had been acting out because there were missing their father, " I'll have to talk to them. I knew they were angry about moving away but I really thought I got through to them you know"

Emily rubbed her sisters arms as she tried to comfort her, " you're doing the best you can. Being a single mother isn't easy especially after everything you've been through but somehow you gathered all your strength and you raised two beautiful, kind girls all on your own may I add. Ryan was never really there he only wanted to be their dad when it suited him" Maddie smiled gratefully at her sister when suddenly a scream was heard causing her to spin around only to see the older women hair on fire.

"Oh, my god" Maddie rushed over helping putting the fire out of older women hair before she glared at the children next to her who was laughing quietly to themselves, " I am so sorry. I don't know what's gotten into them lately" the women ignored Maddie apology glaring at the twins before turning her attention back to Maddie and hissed, " you're children are spawns of Satan!" Maddie watched the women storm away before she turned her attention to the twins and exclaimed, " seriously!"

The laughter stopped as they smiled up at their mother trying to act innocent, " what did I say about behaving. You're going to apologise to your classmate whose hair you set on fire. I'm gonna to try to get you back into that school and when we get home we're going to have a serious talk" Lizzie and Peyton looked at one another before glancing at their mom and spoke in unison, " sorry mom" Maddie sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair before she noticed the box of matches that was in front of her oldest daughter. " where did you get these?"

"Aunt Emily boyfriend left them on the table" Peyton shrugged her shoulders in response causing Maddie to turn her attention to her sister who raised her hands in the air, " I had no idea that John left them there. I promise" Maddie eyes widened as she grabbed her daughter's hands raising her brows at her sister, " John Shelby?" Emily nodded her head in agreement only to watch as her sister stormed out of the garrisons with her daughters.

It didn't take long until Maddie knocked on the door on the Shelby's household where a dark haired girl opened the door looking between Maddie and the two girls holding her hand, " you've got be kidding me. Did one of my brothers knock you up?" Maddie shook her head in response, " oh, no you've got the wrong end of the stick here. I'm looking for John Shelby. Someone called Freddie told me he'd be here"

"Come on, in. I'm Ada by the way" the brunette introduced herself causing Maddie to smile as she walked into the house, " I'm Maddie and these are my daughters Elizabeth and Peyton" the blonde women followed Ada into the back room as she looked around the room at the older women and three men who immediately looked up at the blonde beauty, " which one of you is John?"

"What the hell did you do now?" The older women asked setting her gaze on the youngest brother only for John to raise his hands in mock surrender leaning away from the women, " nothing aunt Pol." Maddie rolled her eyes shooting John a look, " I have something that belongs to you" throwing the matches on the table in front of him, " I've been looking everywhere for these. If it isn't little Lizzie and Peyton" John spoke causing the two girls to look away from the man with bright blue eyes and towards John with a smile on their faces, " how you been, girls?"

"Lizzie set a boys hair on fire at school" Peyton informed John letting out a childish giggle, " aunt Emily had to pick us up from school" the Shelby family smiled in amusement at the two girls standing beside their mother, " thanks to you leaving your matches in plain sight they set a kids hair on fire and did it to some old women when I was working at the Garrisons so if you're going to stay over in the future make sure you don't leave stuff like that laying around"

Peyton giggled with an amused look on her face folding her arms across her chest, " Ooh, Lizzie in trouble. just like at school" Maddie looked down at her daughters and firmly told them, " girls, please! Look, I don't care what you and Emily get up to when you're together but in the future take in mind that I have two four years old who like to touch everything they see"

Tommy who was listening in on the conversation, frowned with an confused look on his face as the women in front of him looks too young to be a mother especially to the two little girls standing in front of him, " well, as much as we like to continue this conversation I'm a little bit puzzled. I could have sworn John mentioned that Emily sister was a barmaid not a nanny"

Maddie rolled her eyes in annoyance turning her attention to him, " they're mine. you see there's this thing called being a young mother. I had them just before I turned twenty" Tommy hummed trying to hide his surprise as he looked into Maddie's eyes and curiously questioned, " and what about the father?" Maddie placed a smile on her face uncomfortable in answering that question, " I think it's time that we leave. I'll see you around Ada, nice to  meet you John you know when you're not climbing through the window"

Later on that night, Maddie opened up the door of her apartment helping her children get out of their coats before hanging them up on the coat hanger, " is everything okay?" Emily questioned from where she is sat in the living room as Maddie nodded her head in confirmation, " Yeah, everything fine. I had a word with John and then I took the girls to apologise to Jack. I had no idea having twins would be this exhausting"

Emily looked up from the book she was ready smiling at the twins who were now sat playing with their toys on the floor before turning to face Maddie, " do you ever think about having another kid?" Maddie couldn't help but laugh with a shake of her head, " ask me that same question when you have them for a weekend. Don't get me wrong I love them to pieces but it's hard work but I wouldn't change anything that had happened in my life because I got my girls out of it. They mean the world to me"

" I guess that is a no" Emily quietly laughed in amusement at her little sister before Maddie turned her attention to Lizzie and Peyton who was now chasing each other through the house, " right now, it's time for the two of you to go to bed" Lizzie and Peyton stopped running as they turned to their mother and complained, " But mom..." Maddie shook her head not giving into the twins doe eyes , " that won't work with me. I have to speak with your school tomorrow to give you both another chance. And starting from tomorrow I want you both on your best behaviour otherwise you won't be going to the seaside this weekend"

Maddie took the girls upstairs getting them ready for bed, " goodnight girls, I love you" kissing them both on the forehead before she walked towards the door turning off the light, " we love you too" Maddie smiled at her daughters watching them for a couple of moments making sure they won't get out of bed before she herself went to bed.
