" hyung will always try to make you happy okay hannie? "
" thank you hyungie!"
chatter and laughter could be heard echoing through the brightly lit segments of the room. the arcade they went to was separated into different sections , according to the theme and the game.
when they first enter, jisung and minho was greeted with the classic 80s arcade music. children could be seen crowding around the game controls, fiddling with the buttons mindlessly.
as they ventured further into the spacious arcade, sound effects from the gory games could be heard from different stimulators. the sound of zombie squelching, or the horrifying screeches were all too real to jisung. he clung onto minho like a life line, desperately trying to slow down his rapid heartbeat.
minho himself was definitely not a big fan of horror themes, but he chose to focus on the cowering boy in front of him that needed to be comforted instead.
he threw his arms over jisung's quivering frame protectively, ignoring the visible trickle of sweat that was showing on his forehead.
he held the timid boy close to his chest, finally making it out of the terrifying battle ground. " hyung will always try to make you happy okay hannie? "
jisung's nervous whimpering was soon replaced with giggles as he heard the new nickname.
" thank you hyungie! "
the two of them set off to explore the arcade further, since nothing really caught their eye. jisung wore the biggest smile on his face. his smile was like a sudden beam of sunlight illuminating the darkest corner of the room when he spotted his favourite game.
" hyungie, can we try that please please please! "
the boy whined as he pointed towards the game set, eagerly dragging a whipped minho to his desired destination.
" of course jisungie. "
the game sprung to life after minho and jisung inserted their card into the slot. bright animations filled the screen as jisung watched with his mouth agape, captivated by the way the don-chan and katsu-chan appeared on the screen. although they were the basic characters, jisung was enchanted by the colours that flashed across the screen. tiny specs of colour pigment could be seen reflected in glass orbs.
" min hyungie , you have to c-choose! I AM , I REPEAT , I AM KATSU CHAN , you can't beat the original heheheh "
jisung babbled excitedly , tripping over his words as he was too thrilled to think properly.
minho raised his hands in the air defeatedly, selecting don chan instead. he snickered under his breath at the younger's seriousness , he replayed the pout on jisung's face when minho purposely chose the character that jisung wanted.
the saying " time flies by the fattest when you're having fun." was proven to be all too true. the two hyper boys were legitimately absorbed into the game, growing increasingly interested in the way their scores were affected by the way they hit the drums.
minho was poorly coordinated when it came to games despite being one of the best dancers. jisung could only erupt into a fit of laughter, smacking Minho's arm lightly.
minho didn't know what had happened. he got tangled up between the wires and even managed to hold the drumsticks the other way around. of course, minho attracted the attention of curious eyes, as they took a glance at him before walking away dismissively.
" hahah, minnie hyung! you should've seen your face.. l-like when you got tangled up.. I won teehee! "
jisung's eyes formed crescents as he parted his lips, releasing an unrestrained guffaw. minho rolled his eyes jokingly, while swiftly placing his face close to jisung.
after laughing for a few hot minutes , jisung opened his eyes , expecting to be met with a pouty minho, crossing his arms pettily. however, he never in a million years expected that minho would be right in front of him, lips a significant distance away from him.
jisung tried his hardest not to blush at the older, only to fail miserably when he started to fumble with his fingers, crimsoning. minho let his arms trail over to jisung's back, pressing him into a hug.
" not so triumph anymore huh, princess? let's go to the claw machine sungie. "
jisung couldn't help but flush at the pet name, feeling a fluttery sensation in his stomach. he just mewled softly as he clasped onto minho's hands that were leading him to the variety of claw machines.
the sight of numerous toys being placed in enticing angles made the couple feel like they would be able to win almost every toy in the arcade. a rilakuma was spotted hanging right over the edge , threatening to fall in just a subtle push. jisung had his hands pressed against the glass , jumping excitedly at the gigantic teddy bear that was far away from the prize slot.
" princess .. let's go try the others first, before trying to get the teddy okay?"
minho was sceptical that they would even have a chance to win the bear that jisung seemed to want.
jisung surprisingly nodded his head as he shyly followed minho to the other machines.
Lady Luck was really on their side that day. jisung could barely see where he was going, let alone carry the pile of plushies that implored to topple over if jisung wasn't careful. fortunately , minho stopped going on his rampage , a fruitful hunt for all the toys.
the arcade operator could only watched in awe as Minho's skilled fingers adjusted the claw to grasp the toy perfectly. within one to three tries , the toy landed in the awaiting arms of jisung.
after minho was sure he got the stuffed toys that both him and jisung wanted, he helped jisung to pack them into a big tote bag, strategically packing them so all of them would fit, while jisung thought of names for the plushies.
jisung dismissed the idea of winning the teddy bear that lingered in his mind, shunning his own demands, concluding that both him and minho had already spent enough on the plushies. moreover, he was more than thankful that minho helped him to get numerous stuffed toys that he wanted.
he was just about to link arms with minho and walk home, when he felt a pair of arms leading him to the opposite direction. " minnie, where are we going? "
jisung's voice was softer, still dizzy from exhilaration.
" we're gonna get that teddy, princess "
jisung yipped happily. however his elation was short lived as he felt wave after wave of guilt wash over him.
" wait no.. minnie.. you've d-done more than enough for m-me! let's go back, t-thank you min- "
jisung was cut off by Minho's slender finger pressed against his soft, pillowy lips.
" no, peach. hyung promised you that he is going to make you very very happy right? you've also done a lot for hyungie. i couldn't have won so many prizes if it wasn't for your constant cheering! now let's go get that teddy!"
Minho announced, silencing all of jisung's worries.
miraculously, minho managed to adjust the claw to hook onto the bear's body, securing their win. minho watched as woahs and yays left jisung's throat, echoing in Minho's head.
the bright boy radiated so much joy and innocence that minho couldn't resist but smile at, his heart unknowingly pounded against his chest as he saw jisung's toothy grin.
the teddy bear finally reached the prize slot, watching jisung run over on his two feet, feeling pumps of fervent run through his blood as he tried to get the enormous bear out of the slot.
minho wanted to kiss the pout displayed on jisung's face when he realised he couldn't get the bear out. the bear was probably twice as big as jisung, therefore, it's cotton stuffing had a significant amount of weight. minho watched adoringly as jisung plopped onto the ground, panting slightly as he tiredly pulled lightly on the bear's paws.
minho effortlessly pulled onto the bear's head, watching jisung's face brighten as the stuffie's head poked out of the slot. jisung immediately crawled towards the life size bear, cuddling himself into it.
" i shall name him minnie kuma! " (A/N : kuma means bear in Japanese :D )
minho brought his hand up to jisung as he patted the top of his fluffy head, chuckling heartily as he saw jisung struggle to stand up, with the weight of the toy on his back.
in the end, jisung ended up carrying the bear on his back after much struggle, while minho carried the bag full of their prizes.
" let's get minnie kuma home , okay peach? "
the two of them walked out of the arcade, letting the moon-lit sky surround them. the stars shine brightly, guiding them back to their own haven.
arcade full of prizes to be won but the most precious of them all are each other. minho & jisung we're what you called star-struck lovers.
