ment. chapter 127

after logging off the chatroom, hyunjae's eyes wandered towards the body next to him. to be frank, he had been watching the older for a while now, as he hesitated making any moves. sangyeon lied on his back, a rather thin folder with papers filed in in his hand which he read through. the younger followed all of his actions, the way his eyes moved so quickly from left to right while scanning the paper or the way his eyebrows furrowed slightly, eyes narrowing simultaneously as he read through the contents.

hyunjae tossed his phone away, cushioned by the soft mattress and leaned closer towards sangyeon with a soft hum. the older noticed, but kept his eyes on the pages he was flipping through. the younger let out a whine. "sangyeon," he complained, calling out for the other, who ignored him still.

slightly annoyed, he rolled onto his stomach, hugging sangyeon's right arm tightly to get him to put the folder away. however, the older was able to lift his arm still, being way stronger than hyunjae's grip on him.

"hyunjae," he said, ignoring the unsatisfied male to his right wailing. "these papers are important." when the younger didn't let go even after those words, sangyeon closed the folder with a sigh and turned his head to look at hyunjae.

"you can do that another time," hyunjae said, a slight pout on his lips. it wasn't all too great that sangyeon was busy, right when he wanted to test things out. "not while i am lying next to you."

freeing himself from hyunjae, sangyeon put the folder on his nightstand, making a mental reminder for him to check it in the morning instead. "what is it you want?" he asked, locking eyes with the younger, the dimly lit nightlamp's reflection visible in his eyes.

now that there was no further distraction, hyunjae extended his arm to grab sangyeon's, forcing them to face each other completely. he guided it towards his own body and innocently looked up towards sangyeon. those actions made hyunjae's intentions clear enough for him, no explanation needed, even though it took him by surprise.

reaching towards hyunjae, the older got a firm grip around his bare waist and pulled him closer towards himself. the warmth of both the blanket lazily thrown over the two and the closeness of their bodies brought hyunjae a form of comfort. inching a bit closer, the boy was now able to let sangyeon rest his chin on his head, as he nuzzled into the crook of his neck, eyes shut and hands resting against his bare chest.

he took in what was lee sangyeon, the fragrance of his shampoo already faded away for most of the part due to their night progressing. now it was mixed with his own scent that hyunjae loved so dearly, as unusual getting to smell it actually was.

somehow it made him feel safe, cozy even, as it brought an unfamiliar feeling of familiarity, how contradicting it might be. with sangyeon, every single action or thing felt so welcoming. it was ironic, wasn't it?

a boost of confidence washed over hyunjae as he recalled the messages he and his friends exchanged earlier that night. limit testing, he thought to himself. the main reason for initiating the cuddle session was to test the waters, right?

hyunjae lifted his head up, only to be faced with the underside of sangyeon's head. giggly with a light feeling in his chest, he slightly pulled away from the older's body to plant a soft kiss on his chin. the sudden contact seemed to take sangyeon by surprise, eyes widening as he looked down at the boy in his arms, who already went back into his original position, now with the corners of his lips pointing upwards, the hints of a satisfied smile evident.

after a few moments of nothing following, hyunjae hooked one arm underneath sangyeon's. the other used his free hand that wasn't draped around the younger and moved it so that he was able to play with his hair. hyunjae felt his hot breath hit the other's skin through his nose. his regular breathing, just like sangyeon's chest rising and falling and the hand carefully playing with the curls on his head, caused by his hair drying on it's own after their shower, made his eyelids feel heavy. it was late after midnight, anyways, so becoming tired was understandable.

sangyeon gently tugging on his hair and brushing single strands out of his face seemed like a good sign, hyunjae thought. if sudden exhaustion didn't hit him right in the face, he was sure his heart would skip a beat or two by the older's actions right now. instead, all it did was cause him a big smile, feeling quite peaceful, even.

finally he let his eyes fall shut, concentrating on nothing except for the heavy feeling inside his head signalizing him how tired he actually was. when sangyeon all of a sudden started humming the melody of a song, hyunjae couldn't distinguish between the real world or sleep taking over him, followed by soft dreams, anymore.

the blanket felt like a tight hug, as well, adding on to the person who's arms he was currently lying in. everything felt so warm. the touch, the embrace - everything. unsure of if he would wake up like this the next morning, because usually sangyeon woke up earlier and left him alone inside the bedroom, hyunjae tried to make the best out of the situation and treasure this exact feeling for as long as he could.

the warmth really did feel cozy. especially if the last thing accompanying his mind going blank and him drifting into sleep was a quick, tender kiss on the top of his head by none other than lee sangyeon.
