12) Stuff to do before bed

Hey!! It's Lylie here and I'm gonna list some stuff that I do before bed.

They've really made me become happier so I'd reccomend trying them out!

1) Journaling

I started doing this about a week ago and I've noticed that I've been way happier than normal. Ands the best part is that it takes only about 5 minutes.

Before you go to bed, just play some music and write down the good things that happened in that day.

Eg : I ate cake, I exercised, I managed my anger.

Even the most simple stuff a difference:)

2) Visual Therapy

I started doing this after B mentioned it in one of our self love challenges. And I'm just gonna copy paste what she wrote cuz it's explained it well.

"Visualization is nothing more than forming pictures in your mind and using your imagination, much like you did as a child.

There is this technique in which you visualize yourself walking on a beach and it just calms me down so much, even though I have never been to a beach, but anyways the point is, IT STILL HELPS, so let's try it.

Try using all of your senses when you visualize by seeing, hearing and touching things.

For example, as you walk you could admire the beautiful colors in the sky or the bright blue color of the water. You could also reach down and touch the sand and notice the texture or the feel of it.

Listening to the sounds of the sea is also very soothing. As you walk notice the sound of the water splashing against the shore or even the sound of seagulls chirping. The more you immerse yourself in this type of relaxing scene the better you will feel."

So I do this every night to calm myself. And especially if the day was extra stressful, I close my eyes for a bit longer and remain in my calming world.

And I sometimes do this when I get angry or sad as well. It helps.

3) Not holding grudges

Damn my past self would've been so proud. But just hear me out.

Normally when someone says something mean to me, I dwell on it for a week and just ruin myself, but now, I pity the ppl that say the mean stuff.

Have u ever said smth mean to someone just bc you've got an insecurity? Ik I have.

And these ppl are just the same. Except they're still holding on to those insecurities and harming themselves and others around them.

So now if anyone says anything bad to me, I just pity them and offer a silent prayer that they become better.

And damn I wish I'd started doing this sooner cuz it's saved me from so much unnecessary sadness.

4) Affirmations.

Low key my favourite part of the day. While I'm having a wash, I compliment myself.

Eg : I'm so proud of how far you've come.
You're so strong.
Your body is so amazing

Or I take my phone and search some up and repeat/write them. (I've added some in the pic above)
