Doom loses the grip on his sword as he looks down at her. A slight frown plaster on his face.

"Please pardon me. I've never thought you have such a fragile body. If I knew it, I wouldn't have let myself bleed easily." He apologises, genuinely guilty.

(Name) coughs once more, her blood pooling on the ground. She lowers her hands from her face. "...it's fine." She mutters breathlessly. The painful coughs from before hurt.

Taking a deep breath, she releases a shaky chuckle. "There's a reason why Fabian didn't let me become a fighter. He knew that I was never meant to be one." She mutters.

"I should've listened to him."

"No! There must be a way to save her!" His mother's voice cried out. "Please, we'll do anything! Please save my daughter!"

His father held his wife in place as she cried. He was standing outside the room; his sister's room, (name)'s room. His parents were inside with another man, who was a doctor.

Flynn's small hand gripped the hem of his shirt shakily, tears at the corner of his eyes. "Nii-chan... (name)-nee is..."

He didn't let the smaller boy finish. "Shh, everything will be alright, Flynn. Your nii-chan will make sure of it."

He was not sure of it.

Inside the room, the one who was laying on the bed was his sister, (name). Weak, limp, lifeless.

It's all my fault.

If only he didn't leave her playing at the playground alone. If only he was there to protect her from those bastards.

It was all his fault.

Even for a kid, (name) had always been beautiful. He should've known that her face would attract danger, yet he left her alone to get something that he wanted; a writer's pen.

He got it, but at what cost? (Name) was dead.

He was an adult. Barely, but still an adult. He could protect himself.

He was eighteen, (name) was just ten. Yet he failed to know that she was too young to be able to protect herself.

Biting his lips, he crouched to Flynn's height. "Flynn, go to your room. I'll be there with (name), okay? You'll see her healthy again, I promise."

Flynn was not an idiot. Despite being a six year old boy, he knew what Fabian was talking about. He slowly released his hold on the older male before making his way to his room.

Taking a deep breath, he stepped into (name)'s room, earning all the three adults' attention. "Fabian..." his mother sobbed, seeing her cry made his heart ache. His father only looked at him in pain, after all, he just lost his only daughter.

Finally, he looked at the doctor. He spared one last look at his parents before he exhaled sharply. "Please allow me to revive (name)," he muttered, shocking his parents.

"Fabian, are you-"

"It's my fault that I left her alone. I'm sorry. Please let me revive her." He bowed to his mother. "Please let me share my soul with her."

His father stepped ahead, "Fabian, do you know what's the risk of you doing that?" He warned. "Your lifespan might-"

"-get cut into half. I know." Still bowinh, he cut him off. "But I don't want to lose my sister."

Huh. He wondered why his voice sounded hoarse. He was sure he could hold it, but...

"Please let me revive (name). She deserves to live longer. I want her to live. Please. Mom, dad... I'm begging you," he saw the droplet of tears dripped onto the ground as his head hung low.

(Name) deserves to live. He wanted her to live.

"...please let me revive her."

Being a part of the Prudence clan was always an advantage. Even though they only had a small amount of blood that made them a Prudence, they were still one. Because of that, each of them were granted an ability.

Flynn's ability allowed him to stay. What it meant by stay was even after his death, he was free to stay in this world. Only if he could bear living like an invisible human. (Name) was a foresighter. She could see everyone's future, except for her family's and her own. And Fabian could revive a soul, only by giving the dead half of his soul.

That made them each have two abilities, including their personal magic.

His mother fell on her knees as she covered her face using both of her hands. The decision was on his father.

"...Don't regret it, Fabian." The older (last name) muttered.

"Nothing to regret if it's for my sister." Fabian raised his head before making his way to the bed, where (name) was laying peacefully, without the light of life.

He spread out his hand above (name)'s head as a blue light appeared in his palm. The same light flashed from (name)'s chest, where her dead heart was placed. Fabian closed his eyes as yet another same light flashed from his own chest.

The light flashed about five times before it died down. A desperate gasp for air escaped (name)'s lips as her eyes snapped open, but Fabian had fallen on his knees. His father immediately supported him as his mother rushed to (name), hugging, crying at her.

Hand on his chest, he took a couple of deep breaths. A cold sweat trailed down his forehead as he felt half of his soul leave his body.

Well, that was what happened.

(Name) looked clueless on the bed. She asked if she was just dreaming, but her mother shook her head. "It's fine, it's okay... everything's alright now..." she kissed her forehead affectionately.

But (name) knew. She just went through death.

"Fabian was a fool to share his soul with me," The crimson cane mutters as all eyes are on her, staring at her in horror. "He had always been so strong. So strong that he got to live more than twenty years with only half a soul." She let out an empty chuckle. "But I'm fragile. I'm weak. A body with only half a soul is weaker than a normal body. That's why my father transferred my foresight ability to my little brother, to decrease the pressure my body has."

She takes a hold on the crimson locket that she adores. "But Flynn's magic allowed me to increase my body health. That's why I'm still alive until now." She smiles to herself as she remembers her brother. "But it seems like your magic is stronger," she raises her head to look at Doom who watches her in silence.

"Again, I apologize. I didn't know." He lowers his head at her.

"It's fine. It's my fault." She says reassuringly. "I know I'll die sooner or later." Her breathing becomes heavier as more blood escapes her lips. Inhaling deeply, she allows herself to fall onto the ground.

"It must be hurt to live with a fragile body," Doom steps closer to her. "Allow me to set you free."

A chuckle escapes her lips, at the same time, she wastes more of her blood. "I'd like that if I was the old me," she laughs shakily.

"But now...I have a family." Those touching yet painful words make Ryoh purse his lips into a thin line. (Name) has always been a girl who seeks family. She hates it alone. "I have friends. I have the man I love. I can't possibly leave them now, can I?"

Doom stays silent. He can't see it, but he can hear the tremors in her voice.

(Name) lets out a shaky breath as a lone tear manages to escape her eye, trailing down her cheek, mixing with her own blood.

"I... want to live."

Finn is crying, and Dot is looking down. Lance stares at the crimson cane in both pity and disbelief as Rayne watches her cry, pain evident on his face.

Ryoh lowers his head as he bites his lips. The sentence is slightly different, but that's what Fabian said before he died.

"I don't want to live."

"I want to live."

Despite the 'don't' in his sentence, he was joking and that was the worst joke he ever cracked.

But (name) genuinely admits that she wants to live. Without her brothers, but with them.

Warm tears drench his bloody cheeks as Ryoh exhales shakily.

Fabian... (name)...

Orter looks devastated. He should've figured it out sooner. He should've known that the girl in the book is (name). Always her.

He needs to save her. His freedom.

Move. He curses his limp body. Move. Save her. I need to save her, dammit!

"Doom." A voice is heard from the portal, revealing Innocent Zero. "Kill her right away. If she manages to get my magic..."

"Understood." Doom nods his head, looking down at the fallen girl. "It's normal to feel that way. Rest assured, once it's all ended, you'll get the peace that you never had."

(Name) closes her eyes, releasing the tears she caged since years ago. She knows that he is right. Everything will be fine...

"I pity you. To think that you suffered your whole life..." the first brother mutters as he raises his sword up high. "To free a tormented soul like you... it's a pleasure." He swings the sword down.

"(NAME)!!!"
