"....That's a hella kind of love story," a kid, in his early teenage years, mutters as the older teen beside him cringes. "Ew."
Ryoh gasps dramatically, "Don't say that, Lucas!" He exclaims. "Just wait until you meet the one." Lucas, a thirteen year old teenager, scrunches his face. "Don't wanna." He says nonchalantly.
"Never thought mom suffered so much," Aaron, Lucas' younger brother comments.
Lucas hums as he nods his head. "It's both funny and irritating at how denial dad was, though. Uncle Flynn already gave him hints. He should study more about Prudence," he huffs, crossing his arms to his chest.
Ryoh lets out a defeated sigh. Both Lucas and Aaron have the personalities of (name)'s brothers; with Lucas having Fabian's while Aaron has Flynn's.
Lucas has grown into a young teenager with dark brown hair and (eye colour) eyes. But if you take a better look, you can see a shade of gold at the lower part of his pupils.
Meanwhile, Aaron is a kid in his early teenage years, with a lighter shade of (hair colour) hair. He has a pair of cenral heterochromia eyes, with golden colour on the outer parts and (eye colour) colour in the inner parts.
Both of them are two liners, and both of them have the Prudence's ability. Lucas' ability allows him to read people's mind, and his personal magic is reset; which allows him to restore everything to default. Broken plates (which he often accidentally breaks), wounds, and even magic.
When training, he once accidentally resets Orter's magic, and damn, he's so weak when he can barely have control of his magic. (Name) was exhausted because she couldn't stop laughing that day.
Luckily for Orter, Aaron's ability is to upgrade; the same as Flynn's personal magic. He helps upgrade his father's sand magic and Orter can finally get his revenge on (name) by trapping her in his sand lock and showering her face with sloppy kisses, which Lucas cringes at while Aaron just smiles.
Aaron's personal magic is element manipulation; where he can control seven elements; earth, lightning, wind, fire, water, nature and light.
(Boboiboy referenced y'all.)
With his ability, he can upgrade each element into the second tier; quake, thunderstorm, cyclone, blaze, ice, thorn and solar.
Quite op if you ask me.
"Ryoh-san, where is Uncle Flynn's book now?" Aaron asks, curious as Lucas side-glances at the light cane, also fails to hide his curiosity.
Ryoh smiles as he stands up. He walks into Orter and (name)'s room and opens the drawer at the table beside the bed and takes a book before going back to the two teens.
"Here," he hands it to Aaron, which he accepts in delight. He reads the title out loud as Lucas leans in to take a look at the book. "Her..." the younger Madl mumbles. "Mom?" Ryoh nods his head.
Lucas opens the first page. "For my weak, fragile sister?" He reads the only sentence on that page. Aaron raises an eyebrow and turns to the next page.
[Prologue
Her.
There are so many words to describe her.
Weak, fragile, frail, pale, sick.]
Both brothers frown at the words. How could he say that about their mother?
[And strong, determined, confident, authoritative, kind.]
Ryoh smiles as he watches their faces from scrunching in dismay to pleased.
[A girl who is as fragile as snow, but determined to weaken people with coldness. A beautiful rose with thorny veins, ready to cut any hand reaching for her. A weak butterfly but poisonous.
She has the heart of an angel. Always put her life on the line for the greater good. Always ready to break the rules if needed.]
Aaron smiles, his eyes soften as Lucas pulls the book closer to him.
[I've never seen any magic that harms the owner. But hers... her magic is too strong. Too strong for her fragile body to handle.
A fragile body won't be able to hold such strong magic.
She has my other half. That won't do. She needs a full soul to use that magic.]
Lucas immediately skips a few pages, making Aaron look at him, confused. He shakes his head at his brother. It's not the time for him to read such a mature thing yet.
The story is getting darker, and he doesn't want to corrupt his little brother's mind yet.
He stops at page 237. Noticing the writing style is different, he scrunches his face in confusion. He turns back a few pages until he finds the last page of the poetic writing style.
[My soul won't stay with her long. Despite the passing years, the soul won't follow the time.
Because time won't affect a wandering soul...
...but her soul is caged in guilt.]
He turns to the next page.
[After his death, she changed.
It's like she's never my older sister in the first place.]
Lucas immediately grabs the book from Aaron and closes it with urgency. The younger Madl stares at him in confusion and he shakes his head again.
"It's getting darker here. We should stop reading," he mutters. Aaron raises an eyebrow, even more confused. "Darker? But there's light-"
"Not that, you idiot!"
"Wha- how dare you!"
Ryoh chuckles at their antics as he takes the book from Lucas. "How kind of you to be concerned about your brother's innocence, Lucas." He smiles. The said teen blinks and furrows his eyebrows, his ears tint red. "I'm... not."
Aaron bores his eyes on his big brother, "Tsundere."
"You brat-"
"We're home~" (name)'s voice echoes through the house, alerting both the young Madls. Ryoh immediately hides the book in his coat, just before the couple reaches them.
"Mom, Dad. Welcome home," Aaron smiles and walks to them. His eyes land on the smaller girl in his father's arms. "How's Hasya?" Orter caresses his small daughter's cheek, checking her temperature. "The doctor has given her some meds, and now her temperature has decreased."
The younger Madl smiles as he relaxes his shoulders. "I'm glad," he says curtly, his hand caresses his sister's hair.
Lucas approaches them and reaches his hands out. "Let me bring her to the room." He offers as Orter nods his head before carefully hands him the small girl. "Careful," he mutters, which his son replies with a nod.
As Lucas leaves, (name) crouches to Aaron's height with a smile on her face. "What would you like for dinner, hm?" She asks, resting her chin on her knuckle.
The younger Madl returns the smile as he shrugs. "I'll eat whatever Lucas wants," he replies. (Name)'s smile widens as she ruffles his hair, making it messy. "What a good brother you are, Aaron." Her eyes are crescent, her tone is gentle. "I promise you won't end up like me, dear."
He wants to ask what she meant by those words. But his mind remembers the sentences in the book that his uncle wrote, and he decides not to ask.
Plus, everything is fine now. They're a happy family. What could've gone wrong?
But if anything happens, he can protect them. Protect his family with his elements. Thus, his mother has promised him that they'll be happy.
Yes, happy.
.
But promises are meant to be broken, so does his family.
The end.
A/n: I already think of a sequel, and it's about their children.
Do you think I'll end this book without the angst? >:)
I'll probably start writing the sequel after I finished Rayne x reader, but I didn't even start it yet hehe.
Anyways, have a good day :D
