━━━ "YOU'RE GOING TO BITE STILES."
Meilani chewed on her lower lip, back leant against the wall next to Noah's office back at the sheriff's station. Meilani, Liam, Malia and Isaac had made their way over after Corey's disappearance and Lydia had met them after. Meilani's mind had raced at miles per minute on the way to the sheriff's station, thinking long and hard about how she could bring Stiles back. Especially as more and more of what Meilani now knew were memories slammed into her.
The last one that slammed into her was of her and Stiles in what she was pretty sure was Derek's loft. Lights were shut off while a DJ blasted techno music with everyone's faces painted to shine against the black lights that someone had set up. She couldn't tell what the occasion was or how half the population of Beacon Hills High were even allowed into Derek's loft, but she had been hit vividly with a memory of her and Stiles.
"Does that normalcy include you painting my body?"
Stiles wrapped an arm around Meilani's waist and tugged her close to him, grabbing the paintbrush with the other hand. He brought his mouth down closer to Meilani's ear and pressed a kiss to her neck just beneath her ear. "Can I paint your body with something else later?"
Meilani shuddered in Stiles' grip as she felt his kisses move lower, gasping quietly when Stiles kissed her sensitive spot between her neck and shoulder. "We can mix the paint later."
Stiles smirked against her skin and sucked it for a minute before he pulled away and held up the brush, relishing in the lust that suddenly filled his girlfriend's brown eyes. "How about I paint that beautiful body like Picasso then, huh?"
Meilani had allowed Stiles to paint her chest and stomach with the brush, giggling quietly as the brush tickled her skin. The body paint was a bit warmer than Meilani had originally anticipated, but she chalked that up to her warmer than normal body temperature with being a werewolf. She rose an eyebrow at Stiles when he drew a small heart over where her actual heart should be.
"Guess you can I say I gave you my heart, baby," Stiles whispered to her, smirking before he bent down to press a kiss to her lips. He stepped back to admire his art work and grinned when his eyes landed on her ribcage.
Meilani furrowed her eyebrows at his too happy of a grin and looked down to her stomach to see PROPERTY OF STILES STILINSKI #24 along her stomach. She raised her eyes slowly to him, her red alpha eyes flashing for a moment to show he was in trouble. She barely had the time to hear him gulp before he was pressed up against the pillar behind them, her lips instantly going for his neck.
"Baby . . ." Stiles groaned, weakly trying to get Meilani off his neck as he didn't want to walk around with a mark on his neck. "Lani . . ." He eventually gave up when the pleasure got too much and eventually just let his head limply fall back against the wood behind him. He groaned quietly to himself and gripped at Meilani's waist.
After a minute, Meilani slowly pulled away and dried his neck as she admired his work. A decent sized mark was beginning to bloom where his neck and shoulder and she bit her lip, poking it and causing Stiles to flinch at the tenderness of it. "Hmm, I did pretty good. Didn't even need to canines for that."
Stiles panted as his eyes slowly fluttered open, his hand coming up to rub at the spot she sucked at like a damn vampire. His eyes were blown wide with lust and he had to blink his eyes a few times to reorient himself, the music bumping dully in his ears as all he could focus on right now was his beautiful girlfriend before him. "Wow . . ."
"You claim me, then I claim you just as hard," Meilani told him, swiping the paintbrush at her boyfriend's lips and making them shine orange under the UV lights. She ripped open Stiles' flannel and grinned cutely as she drew a massive heart on Stiles' chest and stomach. Inside the orange heart she wrote M + S 4 EVER. She smiled to herself when she saw Stiles' look of protest at the writing.
"I hate you."
"Aw, I love you, too, babe," Meilani teased, reaching up on her tip toes to kiss Stiles softly and her hand going in his hair. "Now, come dance with me."
Meilani had been roughly snapped out of the memory as her and Isaac approached the sheriff's station. An idea coming to her as another small trickle of a memory came back to her of her biting someone that roughly looked like Stiles. However, his face was much paler and his eyes dark rimmed like they hadn't slept in years little lone days. A figure that Meilani quickly began to realize was Void and he'd been in Stiles' body. She'd bitten him to get rid of him . . . so who was to say that biting Stiles wouldn't get the pale boy back through the rift?
It was worth a shot and Isaac had, reluctantly, agreed to the plan. Meilani knew Isaac still was nursing a broken heart from the duo having broken up not too long ago and it didn't help him any that Isaac could feel all of Meilani's emotions and hear all of her thoughts. Though, the second one wasn't often and Isaac tried his hardest to not listen in on Meilani's thoughts and give her the privacy she deserved. Much like she did for him.
"Yes, to get him through the rift," Meilani explained to Lydia, fiddling with the ends of her shirt. Her eyes drifted over to Peter Hale who lurked in the corner like a freakin' creeper and she pushed off the wall, walking towards the desk with a mess of papers on it where Liam, Isaac and Malia stood. "It's the only way to get him back."
"Just to clarify; are you planning on biting everyone in the train station?" Peter inquired, coming out of the shadow of the corner and closer to the desk that Meilani stood behind.
Meilani shot Peter an exasperated look, hating that she'd had to call on the man that turned her in the first place. She seriously wished Derek was still around in Beacon Hills so she could ask for help. "With Stiles back, he'll be able to help us figure out a plan. He's good with that stuff . . . at least, I'm pretty sure he is. If these memories or whatever are accurate."
"So the plan is to get Stiles to come up with a plan," Peter retorted, raising his eyebrows at the group of teens.
"You can shut up now," Malia huffed at her father, wanting him in the room even less than Meilani did.
"Malia, look around. We're the only ones left in Beacon Hills. If they take us, Lydia will be the only one left to haunt the place."
Meilani pushed herself to stand up straight and shrugged. "That's why I am the only one that's going in. Liam and Hayden will stay here with Mason and Isaac is gonna stay here to watch them. As long as somebody is left in Beacon Hills, the Wild Hunt cannot move on."
Peter exhaled heavily and crossed his arms across his chest, shaking his head. "I like your plan, Meilani, I really do, especially the part about turning your stupid little soulmate. But it can't work."
"Soulmate?" Meilani questioned, eyes blowing wide as she stared at Peter as if he had suddenly told her that he wasn't a werewolf and was some sort of other mythical creature. "What are you talking about?"
"That, my dear beta turned true alpha, is a story for another day," Peter breezed over his little information bomb drop, ignoring the way Meilani flashed her true alpha eyes in annoyance. "Look, this plan cannot work. I know due to logic and life experience. Liam, what are the odds that your little beta will get taken? What if Stiles isn't there? What if there's no Beacon Hills for you to come back to?"
Liam ticked an unamused eyebrow at the ex-alpha wolf before him as blue eyes followed Peter who began to pace around the room. "And you got a better idea?"
"Yeah, it's called run like hell. So . . . leave in five?"
Malia walked closer to her father, a disappointed but not surprised look crossing her features. "You promised that you would help us. We still need to find the rift."
Peter snorted and didn't appear the least bit sorry that he wanted to run in the opposite direction. Instead of facing the problem head on like Meilani wanted to so she could save Stiles and anyone else that they possibly could. "I didn't promise that I'd help you commit suicide."
Isaac, seemingly growing annoyed by Peter himself, gestured to door of the sheriff's station lazily. "Please, see yourself out if you can't help us. I'm pretty sure we can find it ourselves without you bitching and complaining the whole time."
"I admit that ickle Meilani here has a flair for beating the odds. I know all of you seem to worship the ground she walks on like she's some sort of Greek goddess. But, this? You don't walk away from. You run in the opposite direction and hope it saves your ass."
Not to Meilani or anyone's else's surprise, Peter then turned on his heel and ran out of the sheriff's station.
Meilani, Malia, and Lydia all trekked through the Beacon Hills Preserve. The sun shone beautifully through the breaks in the trees that rose high above them, casting odd shadows against the trio's face as they carried on with the grass below their feet tickling around their ankles like a weird blanket. It was quiet between them for a bit with both Malia and Meilani both keeping their ears out for anything that could lead them to where the rift was and could help help them get back Stiles.
"Lia, when you were here before, how long did it take before the Ghost Riders showed up?" Meilani asked, glancing over her shoulder to the werecoyote who trudged along behind her with Lydia behind her.
"A couple minutes, give or take. What's a rift even supposed to look like?"
Lydia made a sound and jogged so she could catch up to Malia, walking side by side with the Tate girl. "Well, it's a tear in the fabric of our world. Theoretically it could look like anything from a microscopic black hole to a free-floating Einsten-Rosen bridge."
The trio then paused in the middle of a clearing, dried up grass and weeds crunched loudly beneath their feet. An odd feeling washed over them as they stood around the small circle of dead grass and flowers and all looked up at the same time into the clear blue sky, while Lydia making a comment about hoping it wasn't up in the air. Mostly because it'd only make their lives much more difficult if they had to somehow get Meilani into the air.
"We should split up. We could cover more ground out here that way," Meilani suggested, spinning around to face her two girl best friends and slapping her hands to her sides. "Malia and I have enhanced hearing so if anything goes wrong, we could both come running."
Lydia and Malia were apprehensive about splitting up, but they both silently relented anyways. Not that any of them got very far as Meilani took all of five steps before she noticed what looked like a small tunnel that you'd see at the end of dumps that would release waste into the ocean. A broken iron gate covered the opening of the tunnel, pieces of the remaining gate poking up but leaving a big enough hole for a person to duck through and into the tunnel.
"The rift's not above us," Lydia said, ducking her head to try and see into the tunnel even though it was pitch dark inside.
"It's below."
After a wild suggestion from Meilani that they all go in, the three girls ducked into the tunnel with their phone flashlights on ( Meilani and Malia's phones more so to give Lydia extra bits of light ) and dropped down into the sewers below. Almost reminding the trio of the times they had to run through a similar set of sewers when Theo had first arrived to Beacon Hills a few months prior.
"I can't see a thing," Lydia huffed, squinting into the darkened area as the lights from the flashlights didn't offer much assistance down below.
Meilani held up the flashlight on her phone and skirted around Lydia to stalk further into the tunnels. "It's got to be down here somewhere."
The trio pushed on, taking slow steps through the tunnels with their flashlights pulled up in front of their faces. Water sloshed around their feet as they moved deeper into the tunnels and no sign of the rift had appeared just yet. Meilani kept silently praying to herself that the rift would suddenly pop up so she could get in there and save Stiles.
And, thankfully, her prayers had been answered not too long after when Malia got thrown back by an invisible force. She let out a quiet "oof" as her butt slammed onto the wet, concrete flooring and landed at Meilani and Lydia's feet. Her eyes snapped up to the area of the tunnel that just attacked her and motioned to it when Meilani and Lydia looked up, shouting that she had found the rift. Not that she had to tell either one of the girls that for them to know what happened.
Meilani helped Malia to her feet while Lydia pushed on towards the ripple in the mouth of the adjacent tunnel. Her hand hovered just inches from the warping space, too scared to push her hand through it as she didn't know what would happen if she did. "It's scarily similar to the Einstein-Rosen bridge."
Getting into the rift appeared harder than it looked. Malia had gone through about three steel rods that had been lying about along the walls before she inevitably growled in frustration and chucked the sizzling rod that had been seared in half across the way and tugged her hands through her curls.
Lydia, who had watched Malia the whole time uselessly, frowned as she walked closer to the rift again. "There's gotta be another way in. We just need to think."
"Yeah," Meilani agreed, stepping up next to Lydia and crossed her arms as her brown eyes trailed along the rippling rift as her mind continued to come up blank. "Think about how to get through a supernatural rift that melts steel."
"I didn't exactly say it would be easy."
"But it doesn't have to be so hard."
The three girls whipped around at Douglas' voice with Malia quickly picking up one of the rods from the ground and holding it up like she didn't have built in weapons in her fingertips. A sadistic smirk crossed his features as he slowly came out from the shadows, clearly having showed up while they were making a bunch of noise so the two with the enhanced hearing wouldn't hear him coming while being distracted.
Meilani stepped forwards, red true alpha eyes flashing dangerously at Douglas who stood a few feet away. She protectively stood in front of Malia and Lydia, staring down the man that had come out of nowhere. "You followed our scents, didn't you?"
"I followed your desperation," Douglas mocked Meilani, the twisted smirk only growing further on his face. "We're all in a tough spot here. Desperate to get inside and save everyone, and hoping to find a way to stop this army of the dead. We all want the same thing."
"He has a point," Lydia said from behind Meilani, though she didn't sound too happy about agreeing with the things that had spewed out of his mouth.
"If he doesn't kill anyone," Malia remarked, staring at Lydia incredulously for a moment before her eyes snapped back over to Douglas. "I don't trust him as far as I can throw him."
Meilani's jaw ticked as Douglas kept smirking at the three girls, her hands clenching into tight fists as she resisted the urge to fly across and pummel him to death. "Else. If he doesn't kill anyone else."
Douglas shrugged lazily, almost as if he was glad he was getting recognition for the things he's done so far. "All that matters right now is getting through the rift."
"Then you're out of luck. The rift burns anything that tries to pass through it," Lydia warned him monotonously.
"Perhaps not everything," Douglas cryptically responded, snapping his fingers twice which had Parrish walking out on command. His pants were shredded, almost resembling that of Michael J. Fox's jeans in Teen Wolf. His sculpted chest was on display and his feet were bare, face straight ahead and barely acknowledging the fact that he was in the presence of Meilani, Lydia and Malia.
Lydia took a small step forward when Parrish snapped his gaze over to the girls and roared, eyes glowing green. "Jordan."
Douglas held his hand up to stop Parrish from going towards the girls and keeping the hellhound behind him like some sort of guard dog. "If the Hellhound can open the rift, we all go together."
"You're the bad guy. I'm pretty sure helping you is a bad idea," Malia quipped, eyeing Douglas up and down in distaste.
"Good guy. Bad guy. When has anything ever been so black and white?"
"World War II," Liam panted, coming down the tunnel to the left and Meilani's eyes widened at the sight of her beta. Where the hell were Isaac and Hayden? They were all supposed to be together. And . . . why did Meilani feel a sudden empty feeling in the middle of her chest? Like something else was missing? "He's a Nazi. He wants the Hunt for himself. He wants his own supernatural army."
Douglas rolled out the whip that was in his hand, the long rope sloping along the wet, concrete floor beneath his feet. "Not letting me? I see. You still think you have a say in the matter, princess."
Meilani anticipated what Douglas was about to do and leapt back, causing the girls and Liam to follow suit just as the whip lashed out and narrowly missed them by a mere few inches. Red alpha eyes glowed in the dim tunnel and Meilani let out an earth shattering roar at Douglas, continuing to leap back every time he lashed out with the whip that would take Meilani and the others to the other side. The trio were smart and slipped out behind Meilani and into the mouth of the tunnel that Liam had come down while Meilani continued to jump back and back.
When she realized she was getting too close to the rift and would end up much like the melted rods, Meilani slipped out into the tunnel with the others which satisfied Douglas enough to stop lashing out with the whip. He whistled and Parrish walked over to the rift, placing his hands into the warping space and began to pull as it glowed a vibrant greenish blue. Meilani yelled for Parrish to stop, but it was like the Hellhound was in a trance and under some sort of mind control and didn't listen to a word the true alpha
