β°ββ€ β Briefcase
The scene changed, revealing a house in a neighborhood, the camera zoomed inside where Auntie May was seen busy cooking dinner , while humming on old country songs, swirling her hips once in a while, with a soft smile resting on her face.
'Hey!' Peter greeted, walking up to the fridge to get some apple juice for himself.
'I'm making... spaghetti and meatballs tonight!' Auntie May revealed, combing the meat, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan, black pepper, garlic powder, and egg in a bowl to form them into small meat balls for the spaghetti.
'Serious? Spaghetti and meatballs!' Peter exclaimed, grabbing the bottle labelled as 'Apple juice', before closing the refrigerator.
'Since when don't you like spaghetti and meatballs, huh?' Auntie May questioned, pointed the spatula in her nephew's direction, before placing the home made meat balls in a container to keep them in the fridge, while she would prepare the sauce.
'I love spaghetti and meatball, especially when auntie may makes it!' Lillian dreamily says.
'of course, you do!' Peter mumbled under his breathe.
'what's that supposed to mean?' Lillian asked
'Nothing!' Peter sheepishly smiled
'Oh, my God!' May murmured, looking at Peter in concern, when her eyes fell on the bruised lip and left cheek.
'What's up?' Peter asked, leaning on the kitchen counter, hoping his auntie wouldn't interrogate him about the injuries on his face.
'What happened to your face?' she asked, worried
'I'm all right. Just... I fell, skating.!' he lied, slipping the apple juice from the bottle, before whimpering out of pain when the fluid made contact to the open wound on his lips.
It's all right!' he reassured when his uncle Ben along with Lillian walked inside the kitchen.
'Hello Aunt May!' Lillian greeted, hugging the woman who she thought of as a mother figure, before walking over to where Peter was standing and stood beside him, snatching the bottle on his hand, slipping it with a happy grin while Peter playfully glared at her.
'Hey that was mine!' he playfully whined
'Oh you poor thing!' she grinned, while they both looked at the older couple in front of them arguing like old happy married couple.
'You both act like Prongs and Lily when they just got married' Sirius stated unaware Snape had a scowl on his face at the mention of the Potter spawn's father
'Ben Parker, don't you even... think about leaving that filthy box in my kitchen!' Aunt May threatened her husband
Ben: My bowling trophies.
Lillian awed at the sight with a smile of the married couple, she had always wondered if her parents ever fought like Uncle Ben and Aunt May when they were still alive. Sometimes Padfoot would tell her about how her father James Potter shamelessly liked to flirt with her mother in front of everyone without a worry and how he used to ask her out every day.
It was amusing to hear how many times he had gotten rejected by her mother but in the end, still got her.
'Oh, well, then, by all means... leave that box in my kitchen!' Auntie May sarcastic exclaimed at her husband.
'What happened to you?' Uncle Ben questioned his nephew, after seeing his bruised lip.
'He fell!' Lillian replied.
'For you' Peter muttered to Lillian who had a blush on her face
'For you!' Ben joked, chuckling at his own joke when he saw the slight blush on his nephew and daughter figure's face.
'Nope for the floor!' Peter mumbled flustered at the joke.
'Why you kids... ride those things, I'll never know!' Auntie May ranted, as she combined chopped garlic, onions, tomatoes, salt, sugar, and a bay leaf in a saucepan and left it to simmer for twenty minutes.
'What is she talking about?' Dean asked Peter and Lillian
'Skater boards.' Peter answered
'Because it's stupid and dangerous!' Ben questioned after a deep thought, before looking at his wife with a grin.
'Remember when we were young and stupid?' he questioned.
'That reminds me, Moons remember when we were young and mischief?' Sirius asked his husband
'No!' Remus glared at his husband, who pouted in return.
'No!' Auntie May glared at her husband, flustered with fond on look in her eyes at the fond memories both of them created till date.
'Trust me, we were!' he winked at the two teenagers.
''Good to know!' Peter chuckled at his uncle.
'Now where's the flood?' Peter questioned.
Ben: Follow me. I'll show you.
'You sure?' , Peter hesitantly asked his uncle.
'Yea!' Ben motioned for his nephew to follow him down to the basement, so that he could investigate the flood and how to put a stop it from flooding the basement, as it did frequently .
'Can I lend a hand?' Lillian asked Auntie May with a huge smile plastered on her face, while eyeing Auntie May's famous chocolate chip chocolates on the counter.
'You can have some, you know!' Auntie May laughed at the girl's antics with a motherly look on her face.
'Well I do love myself for teaching baby Lillian about chocolate?' Remus smiled to himself.
'Moon's let's not forget the fact that Lily banned us from seeing Lillian for a week because of that!' Sirius reminded his husband.
'It wasn't my fault, Prongs decided to feed her a bunch candy before dinner!' Remus huffed in disbelief.
'I love you Auntie May!' Lillian broke into a huge smile, as she quickly hugged her mother figure before dashing over to the counter to munch on her favorite dessert made by the most important woman in her life.
'You know auntie may, your cookies are the best thing in the whole universe! I mean my boarding school do bake chocolate chip cookies and all, and would prepare them at a student's request but this is the love of my life!' Lillian rambled happily, as Auntie May looked at the girl with adornment in her eyes, before her eyes fell on the reddish purple bruise on the girl's wrist.
'Pup?!' Sirius and Remus looked at Lillian who was avoiding eye contact from them as well as from Peter as well.
'Did Petunia do that to you?' Remus softly questioned as he crouched in front Lillian, trying to hide his rage towards the Dursley's and got up to sit on the seat that was vacant beside Lillian while Sirius accompany the other seat beside Lillian.
Lillian shook her head.
'Then who my love?' Peter asked, as he crouched to at Lillian, making eye contact with her.
'Uncle Vernon!' she mumbled under her breathe, trying not to break into tears.
Noticing that, Peter rose up as Lillian walked up and walked out of the great hall with Remus and Sirius following behind them.
'Bubs if you are not comfortable in sharing what happened that its fine, but you are never going there again!' Peter reassured his girlfriend, unaware of the things had faced will leave the whole world speechless.
The whole great hall furrowed in confusion, excluding the Slytherin who befriended the only Potter who were slithering in rage at the old muggle, when Lillian walked inside with Peter, Remus and Sirius.
'Lillian show me your wrist?' Auntie May asked.
'Oh! This is nothing!' Lillian shrugged her shoulder, before pulling her sweater down to cover her wrists with a fake smile. Petunia Dursley might have not cared for her and neglected her all her life for the petty jealously for not being a witch like her younger sister, meant Vernon indirectly had the right to physically and mentally abuse her on the consent of his wife.
'How's Vernon and Petunia?' Auntie May asked.
'They are fine, busy with Dudley as usual!' Lillian answered with a fake smile, swagging her legs front and backward while sitting on the counter.
'Lils can you check on the spaghetti noodles?' Auntie May then asked, noticing that Lillian didn't want to talk about her uncle, aunt and cousin like usual. She mentally decided on not continuing that particular topic, since it was painfully obvious the Dursley didn't care for the young Potter as they liked to claim in the society.
Lillian Potter was a brave soul in her eyes, which was true even if Auntie May didn't know of the horrors she faced and would face in the nearby future
But one thing was certain, moments like this for Lillian was the calm before the storm.
'It's boiled!' Lillian palm's up Auntie May before grabbing a cloth to the sides of the pot, bring it to the sink where she drained out the water from the spaghetti noodles and placed the pot on the side of the pot, while Auntie May opened the fridge and took out the containers filled with homemade meatballs and placed them on baking tray with the baking paper placed on it before laying the meat balls down on the tray and lastly placing it in the oven for ten minutes.
Auntie May them simmered the sauce, before taking out a table spoon from the drawer for Lillian to taste the sauce.
'here Lils try it!' Auntie May brought the spoon in Lillian, who blow on the spoon before she tasted the sauce. Letting a moan as the taste of the delicious sauce, Lillian broke into a day dream as the flavors flown in her mouth.
'It's so good!' Lillian nod her head, agreeing with what she was saying.
Hearing the oven ding, Auntie May walked over to check on the meat balls that were brown and crispy, after making sure it was fully baked. Auntie May poured the meatballs from the tray into the sauce pan and mixed it around for a while, and cover it loosely with a lid and left it to simmer for 10 minutes, so that the flavors could marry, while the meat balls were cooked through.
'How's things with Peter?' Auntie May then asked, intrigued to know if they were dating, making Lillian choke on dry air.
Remus sent a suspicious look at the two along with Sirius, especially when he called her love and bubs
'cariΓ±o be careful!' Auntie May patted Lillian's back slowly with a worried look on her face.
'I-I'm fine! Me and Petes are friends!' she exhaled, while coughing.
'But sweetie, both of you like each other, and it's obvious!' Auntie May confessed.
'Auntie May, he thinks of me as a best friend, nothing more nor nothing less!' Lillian rambled nervously.
'Lies!' Auntie May mumbled under her breathe, shaking her head at the young potter's obviousness.
_______
'Plumbers don't fix appliances!' Auntie May said to her husband, while Lillian looked at the married couple arguing. Her blue eyes moving back and front in amusement filled in her eyes
'yes they do!' Ben huffed at his wife, when Peter walked inside the dining room with an old brown briefcase.
The couple shared a looked before turning to look at Peter, dismissing the fact Lillian was in the room, since they knew Peter would tell her whatever they talked about no matter what.
''I forgot all about that thing!' Uncle Ben confessed looking at the briefcase with a fond look plastered on his face, before glancing at Peter
'It was your dad's!' he concluded.
'Yeah!' He muttered.
'He asked us to keep it safe!' Auntie May revealed, looking at her nephew with a sighed.
'He saw it in the window of that leather shop over on 9th Avenue. He was 19. What does a 19-year-old kid need with a briefcase?' Uncle Ben chuckled tearfully.
'And guess who sold it to him?' he then questioned.
'I don't know!' Peter shrugged.
'your mother. that's how they met!' Ben explained.
'That's much better than our pup's parent's love story began!' Sirius smirked as he looked at his husband winking at him to continue
'Honestly, James used to ask Lily out daily, I was quite surprised and happy baby Lillian didn't follow in her father's footsteps but that was a lie since trouble usually finds her!' Remus sighs
'Uncle Moony!' Lillian whined, while Peter and Sirius both chuckled at the sight
'Pup you know it's true!' Remus stated, making Lillian sigh in defeat.
'That's so cute!' Lillian awed with her blue eyes filled with adornment, as she walked over to side beside Peter, clashed her hands with Peter's in a sense of comfort.
'He asked you to... keep this safe? Why? There's nothing in here.' Peter stammered, gesturing to the briefcase with his hands moving around nervously.
' Your father was a very secretive man!' Auntie May revealed, glancing at her husband with a conflicted look plastered on her face.
''Yeah I know!' he stammered, as he pulled out a picture out of the briefcase, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion when his eyes fell on the unknown man wearing a lab coat who sitting beside his father with a huge smile, Lillian glanced at the picture looking at the man with a sense of familiarity overcoming her.
'You know you could have told me who he was?' Peter looked at his girlfriend.
'I forgot!' she defended herself.
'I forgot!' he mumbled under his breathe in a high pitch female voice, earning a glare from Lillian who smacked him on his arm.
'Who's that?' Peter questioned her uncle and aunt, before he turned the picture around, so that his uncle Ben and Auntie May to see.
'Do you know who that is?' Lillian then questioned, ignoring the feeling that she had seen that man before somewhere, but she wasn't able to point it out, while her Potter's intrigued for trouble spiked at a radar.
'Damn the Potter's curse!' she mumbled under her breathe, earning an amused look from Peter.
'And she just jinxed it herself!' Sirius as he facepalms himself
'Some guy who worked with... your dad, I guess!' , Ben shrugged his shoulders while answering the question asked.
Peter glanced at the picture once again with conflicted look plastered on his face, before he was interrupted by Auntie May.
'Just take this off the table, all right?' Auntie May asked, looking at everyone presented in the room.
'We're gonna eat. Off. And wash your hands.' Auntie May sternly, glancing at Peter and Lillian.
'Why did Auntie May remind me of Minnie?' Lillian thought with an amused looked filled in her blue eyes.
'Miss Potter Don't call me that' Minerva sternly stated, but her smile betrays her as Lillian grins in her seat as she sends the older professor a wink
'Just like her father!' she muttered under her breathe.
'Now. All right!' Auntie May then sternly concluded.
After washing their hands, Lillian and Peter sat beside each other at the dinner table while the married couple sat across from them. As each and one of them served themselves with spaghetti Auntie May had prepared with a little help from Lillian who was eyeing the cookies with a dreamy look plastered on her face, as she swirled the noodles in her plate.
Glancing at Lillian who was sitting beside him, Peter couldn't help but feel amused by Lillian's antics even if he was used too, as he reached over to the plate of chocolate chip cookies and placed it on Lillian's dessert plate.
'Have I ever told you that I love you?!' Lillian exclaimed looking at Peter with a huge smile.
'what now?!' Draco exclaimed from his seat
'No I don't think so!' he stammered, while the married couple shared a amused look, mirror the others looks.
'Well then, I love you!' Lillian moved closer to him and kissed his cheek, as Peter exhaled nervously, while his heart skipped a beat at the moment, ignoring the urge to brush the place where Lillian had kissed him with his fingers.
'No Boys, or girls!' Sirius and Remus yelled
'Indeed she's too young!' Draco supported them
'Shut up ferret' Lillian stated, annoyed at the three males.
'For the cookies, right?' Peter asked amused, trying to pull himself together
'Duh!' Lillian smiled, before munching on the cookie.
After they finished dinner, Lillian and Peter washed the dinner plates before running over to Peter's room to investigate more about Richard Parker, Peter dad's briefcase.
'Suspicious'
'Suspicious indeed!'
