YG Entertainment Files 78,000+ Lawsuits Against Telegram and Perpetrators Of Deepfakes and Sex Dolls Of Their Artists

There is currently an international crisis for the circulation of deepfakes on the internet. Some of the biggest victims of this crime are celebrities whose digital footprint is generated on the faces of people in adult videos.

In 2023, an estimated 120,000 deep fake videos were found all of idols and Korean actresses. YG Entertainment artist had the highest number of deepfakes with BLACKPINK's Sol having an astounding 37,931 deepfakes.

This is not the only problem as a new issue appeared. The distribution of realistic celebrity sex dolls was undiscovered. Sales of these dolls have been recorded in 36 different countries.

YG Entertainment first announced to be taking legal action in 2023 and 2024 against these acts and they have officially filed a total of 78,297 lawsuits against perpetrators, major distributors, and platforms. On top of this, YG Entertainment has also made 125,926 criminal reports over the last two years.

One of the biggest lawsuits filed by YG Entertainment is a lawsuit against the platform Telegram where majority of the distribution took place. This lawsuit marks damages at 3.2 billion dollars is loss for Telegram if the court rules in YG Entertainment's favor.

Multiple top law firms around the world have been contracted to work on the lawsuits. YG Entertainment ended they statement by sharing that they are spending over $1 billion dollars for this large-scale lawsuit and will go to great lengths to assure the end of these crimes terrorizing not only their artists, but other victims.

If everything goes in YG Entertainment's favor, they are set to gain from 7.8 to 39 billion dollars.
