Valerie still remembered that prophecy like she'd been told it yesterday.

Gold had warned her of it-- and she knew she'd be a part of it. She knew, it was a tugging feeling in her gut.

Also, Gold told her.

That too.

"Four stars burning bright come from beyond to expel the night. The knight in Gold, plans to protect, but will she fulfill, and will the others accept? Should they fight together, or embrace the fall? Their choice will determinate the fate of all."

The knight in Gold was obviously her, so what the fuck did that mean?

The four girls quickly hopped onto the various modes of transportation they had, Valerie and Marcy on Joe Sparrow and Anne and Sasha on one of the cat-moths.

The squad all looked up to the sky, worried.

Suddenly, Andrias chuckled behind them. "It seems the core has activated it's final gambit. When our civilization was at its peak, the moon became the home to some of the Core's pet projects. Among them-- a plan to eradicate all life as we know it, by ramming the moon into Amphibia's surface."

Collective gasps were shared through the amphibians along with most of the girls.

"EXCUSE ME?" Anne asked in disbelief, throwing her hands out to either of her sides to show her anger. "WHY?"

"fear." Valerie replied simply from behind her, moving next to Anne. "look, as someone who's had a couple of different things in her head, I could tell it was scared. Of being unimportant. Because fear is the only way they control the others around them. It was afraid of being destroyed more than anything. It'll do whatever it takes to win, to claim the box as it's own-- they don't care what gets in their way."

Just then, Sasha ran up, barging her way between Valerie and Anne-- the light-skinned brunette falling backwards, only for Marcy to catch her.

"SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS, THIS THING'S A GIANT SORE LOSER!" The blonde yelled out, pointing an accusing finger in Andrias's direction, and then proceeding to throw her hands up ot the sky, infuriated.

"More or less."

"Yeah that's a shockingly good description, actually." Valerie actually managed to agree with King Andrias, for once, picking herself up out of her girlfriend's embrace, but not before thanking her and kissing her cheek.

"We have to do something!" A very-panicked Sprig chimed in with wide eyes that were looking from side-to-side. "Anyone have any ideas on how to stop an entire moon?"

Right as he finished speaking, the earth started to rumble beneath them. At first, Valerie thought it was just an earthquake-- but that was before the giant, old, wrinkly, purple... axolotl? shot out of the ground.

"Mother Olm?" Marcy, Anne, and Sasha all asked in sync, leaving a very confused brunette to blink aggressively up at the creature. She didn't recognize it, but Gold did, and she was making it very clear.

Who the fuck is this-

Language, Valerie. And it's Mother Olm, one of the old prophecy speakers.

Okay then. And don't you 'language' me, you know I'm just gonna keep swearing.

"So, how did it go?" Mother Olm asked curiously, her voice actually quite sweet despite the unnaturally large size of her and her intimidating look.

"Well, we stopped the invasion. But, now it looks like the moon is about to kill us all, so, mixed bag." Sprig answered, gesturing to the moon that was getting closer and closer by the minute with his free hand.

"I see." Mother Olm spoke, turning her eyes towards the moon that was flying closer and closer to Amphibia. "Then the prophecy has finally come to pass." She then shifted her eyes to Valerie who seemed to give an awkward wave. "Ah, you must be one of Dr. Peter's descendants! A Williams, huh? The scent is practically all over you. How's Gold treating you?"

"Oh, pretty well, actually! You know, just kind of saved my ass from dying, so-" The brunette responded with a smile.

"Ah, so you must already know the prophecy, then! Great to know I won't have to say it. Again."

Valerie couldn't help the fact that her grin grew larger as she saw Anne out of the corner of her eye throw her hands up and cheer. "Let's go save the world!"

"Well," Mother Olm shifted, placing her hands out in front of her, almost as if trying to quiet them down. "Just a minute, the prophecy doesn't necessarily say you'll succeed."

"what." The tall teenager deadpanned, hearing a barrage of confused reactions follow her own.

"You see, the prophecy isn't so much a prediction, as it is a humble request for help." The large axolotl proceeded with her speech. She then leaned in closer to the four girls, her face practically right next to them. "And know this: You have to tap into the energy that remains in the stones, in order to get the energy you need. However, if you do that..."

"there might not be enough energy for us to get home." Anne finished, one of her arms gripping the other as her eyes moved to the floor.

"We could be stuck in amphibia forever." Sasha added, seeming to sadden at the thought as well, but quickly hid it behind a stoic face.

The light-skinned brunette also seemed sad, moving towards Marcy and gripping the noirette's hand tightly. "But if we don't, we risk innocent people dying at our own fault."

"Yeah," Mother Olm sighed, pulling herself back up to her normal height. "So, now that all the cards are on the table, what will you do? The choice is yours."

Valerie shifted her mismatched eyes around. She could see all of the members of Wartwood, scared out of their minds. They were given the choice to just leave them here? To let them die? Oh hell no.

The four friends shared a glance, before Valerie looked up at Mother Olm with nothing but determination spread across her face. "You're callin' that a choice?"

"Of course we'll help!" Marcy seemed to finally speak up during this whole interaction, throwing her free hand up into the air.

Anne then moved her arms out to her sides, gesturing to the inhabitants that currently surrounded her. "There's no way we'd leave you hanging in your hour of need."

There were loud sounds of cheering that immediately erupted around the group of teenagers. Once it finally quieted down, the poofy-haired girl looked from side to side, excitement practically radiating off of her. "Now, let's get powered up! Ladies; to the music box!"

Cheers erupted once again as Valerie felt Marcy lead her off towards the castle.

However, she was quickly stopped by a finger on her back, letting her hand slip out of her girlfriend's. Her and Anne were the only ones left behind now, as Mother Olm started to speak.

"You two-- one more thing." Mother Olm spoke, letting the girls onto her hand so she could lift them up into the air. "the stones are strong, but they may not be powerful enough to defeat the core. If things look bad out there--" she looked towards Anne. "Don't forget about to secret spell, and don't forget to tell her," she nodded her head towards Valerie. "about it too. She's prophesied pretty strongly in there."

"wait the secret what now?" Anne asked, looking over towards Valerie, who put her hands up, just as confused.

"woah, why are you looking at me?"

"Didn't I tell you about that?"

"no!" the poofy-haired girl responded quickly.

Mother Olm sighed, one of her hands moving out to the side. "Well, the stones are rumored to hold a hidden power. Enough to defeat any foe-- but summoning such power, comes with a price. The life of the user."

Power's Price.

What she'd been warned about in every text including the gems.

What Gold herself had warned her about.

Power's Price.

Valerie and Anne shared a concerned glance, but the first of the two couldn't help the little question that popped up immediately into her curious mind.

"So, uh, hypothetically, what if..." The brunette started as the two of the were placed back down onto the ground. "what if two people were to split that power? Like, call upon it together?"

"Hm," Mother Olm placed a hand to her chin in thought. "Well I've never heard it be done before-- or even heard of the idea. But," she shrugged her shoulders. "I suppose it would be fifty-fifty. Either one dies and one lives, they both die, or they both live."

"well that's better odds than certain death, right?" Valerie said nervously, looking up at the massive axolotl. All of this looking up was really beginning to hurt her neck.

"Yeah- Well," Mother Olm smiled, putting her hands up and waving them around. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that, good luck up there!"

Valerie didn't bother waste anymore time, despite Anne hanging back. If she really needed to know how to do the spell-- she'd know in the moment. That was something she'd learned from having an all-knowing being in her head.

-

Valerie skipped in, quickly taking a spot next to Marcy and beginning to chat with the noirette. The first thing she noticed, however, was Valeriana in white and gold clothing, standing there, waiting for Anne and her to arrive.

It didn't take long for Anne to trail up behind her, and get into place next to the others. The four of them all stood in a square like formation around the box, being ordered to close their minds and think of their memories of amphibia.

Streams of light started to pour from the box as the gems lifted up. Blue for Anne, Pink for Sasha, Green for Marcy and Gold for Valerie. Valerie seemed to receive the light differently than the others, however, her eyes opening up, purely gold.

Are you sure that you wanna do this? Gold's voice chimed up unsurely. Full power can be-

I can handle it. I'm not letting more innocent people die on my watch.

...Alright then.

And with that, in a flash of bright light, the different gems flew into the bodies of the respected girls.

And they all seemed...

...different.

At first, it was just Anne, Sasha and Marcy in camera view. It took a minute for Valerie to be noticed, but once she was...

Valerie's hair was in two different parts, her bangs flowing outwards and the rest of her hair flowing up into the shape of a leaf. It started a deep gold color at the center, before fading to a lighter version of it. Her chestplate began just above her chest, being gold and outlined in silver with a silver swirl where her heart would be, with shoulder blades that had the same color scheme-- golden outlined with silver.

She also had a long cape that reached to about her ankles. It seemed to grip loosely around the frame of her upper body, before gripping tightly at her waist and flowing out around her legs-- which had knee-high, heeled, intricately made black and gold boots with fluff peeking out of the top on them as well as gold leggings coming out from underneath them.

Oh, and you wouldn't be able to miss the golden tiara with black stones that was placed intricately on top of her head. It made her look like a queen.

She looked like fuckin' royalty.

Especially with both of her irises being gold as of the moment.

You like it? Gold asked as Valerie looked herself over. You see, I did take some of your suggestions.

I love it.

The powered-up girl was still on the floor while the others were flying in the air, and dramatic clicks were heard as she took each step on the floor, before starting to hover off of it, barely getting to be eye level with her friends before she was tackled in a hug.

"so prettyyyy!" Marcy cheered, starting to pepper kisses onto her girlfriend's face, who just giggled, reciprocating the embrace.

"awe, look at youuuu-" Valerie's voice had a robotic undertone to it... almost like when she was possessed, but lighter, and... prettier, almost?

"alright lovebirds, not the time for that." Anne said with a disapproving shake of her head, watching the couple land beside her. "Let's go punch that moon in its big, ugly face!"

Without further chatter, the four girls immediately burst out of the castle roof, headed straight for the possessed moon.

-

Of course the core had defenses in place.

Not that it mattered-- there were four overpowered teenagers ready to beat their asses.

"Come get it, bugs!" Valerie said almost immediately, sticking out a finger and gesturing a challenge for them. The space-bugs started their attack, trying to even get close to the girl, but they weren't able to.

First, Valerie seemed to summon a volleyball out of nowhere, spiking it down to the bugs below her, watching them disappear in a puff of gold smoke. She then giggled, reaching into the 'dust' and pulling out a gun made out of gold light.

"Who's next, huh?"

More bugs came her way, and this time, Valerie pulled the trigger to her 'gun', the bullet flying out and turning into different streams that hit all of the bugs in her way. The weapon disappeared from her hands as her girlfriend flew up to her, giving her a side hug-- which the tall teenager was quick to turn in and cup her cheek, pulling her into a kiss.

Marcy was the first to pull back after a few seconds, eyes wide. "woah, kisses feel way better like this."

"They really do." Valerie agreed with a nod, before the others ran up and joined their hug-- Anne sandwiching the gold girl and Sasha sandwiching the green one.

The four of them spun around, gripping onto each others arms, and soon enough, they had gotten all of the bugs downpact.

Now they had their backs pressed against the moon, trying to press it backward, but it was no use. It wasn't helping at all.

Then, a swarm of frobots was seen coming towards them. Marcy was quick to say "Leave them to me!" before heading towards them-- and tripping over a rock, letting them right past her.

"augh, sunshine!" Valerie spoke with her voice breathless and strained-- probably due to how hardly she was pushing against the moon, trying to move it back. "get back here!"

Marcy needed no further encouragement, quickly taking her place back next to her girlfriend, before all four of the teenagers noticed that... the robots were actually helping them, pushing back against the moon... and it was actually starting to do something.

However, the core started to press back harder. Valerie grunted, feeling something stretch in her back and pain shoot through her body, but she ignored it for the sake of their cause.

"Fools!" The core breathed out. "You cannot stop a god!"

"Even with the robot army, it's not enough!" Marcy yelled out, her voice strained, she was practically shaking.

Sasha then groaned, placing a hand on her temple, her form seeming to flicker. "Guys, hate to bring this up, but I think I'm fading fast."

"Me too," Marcy added on, her form also flickering-- the light she was emitting getting dimmer. "Our bodies aren't as used to this as yours."

Valerie and Anne paused, sharing a glance between the two of them, before the latter of them spoke up.

"Val, can you have that entity take over? Maybe she can do something to stop it."

Valerie simply shook her head, leaning her head back against the moon, still trying to push against it-- but clearly starting to get tired. "If I had her and all of this power running through my veins-- it'd kill me, no doubt."

Anne's eyes shifted around, before she sighed, and started to speak. "Look, guys, I know what we have to do. I'm going to call upon the power of all four stones... I may die in the process, but at least you and everyone else will be safe."

"WHAT?!" Marcy immediately yelled out, her and Sasha rushing in front of the blue girl, along with Valerie who was still at her side. "There's no way we're letting you do that."

"ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Sasha immediately added on, eyes wide.

And yet, as the robots started exploding, Anne continued.

"This whole time I've followed you guys, counted on you, trusted you. Now it's your turn to follow my lead. Please, let me do this."

Valerie then gently hovered herself off of the moon, her hand landing on Anne's shoulder.

"You're not doing it alone," she said with a sigh, noticing the shocked look that appeared on her best friend's face. "You heard Mother Olm. She said if two people split it, maybe, just maybe, they'll both live."

Marcy's eyes widened at her girlfriend's words as she shook her head furiously. "No, please." She said, already feeling the knot in the back of her throat forming, threatening to make her sob right here and now as Valerie moved closer, cupping her cheek and tucking a piece of stray hair behind her ear.

"hey hey hey, don't be sad-- don't cry." she spoke in a soft voice, wiping a tear off of the girl's cheek. "look, I always knew this life wasn't gonna be a very long one. It just felt like tugging feeling in my gut. But... it'll be okay, if I don't see you in this one, we'll see each other in the next." she then leaned in, placing a gentle kiss to Marcy's lips. "I promise."

"b-but, I just got you back- I can't... I can't-"

"shhhh." Valerie moved a finger to press against her girlfriend's lips, effectively shutting her up. "you think too much, you've gotta stop dwelling on the bad stuff."

"screw you for using my own words against meeeee...." Marcy wiped the tears from her eyes, watching as the golden girl reached out her hand expectantly, before she placed the green gem in it.

"thank you, Sash." Valerie then said as she turned towards the blonde, sighing and sticking her hand out for a handshake, almost awkwardly. Since the two hadn't gotten along the best... "We had a good run."

Sasha nodded, gently shaking her friend's hand before placing the red gem in Anne's palm.

"Alright, not sure how this will go, so you better get out of here." Anne said, sharing a nervous glance with her best friend, almost fearful. Fair enough, they were probably going to die-

Suddenly, the two of them were pulled in for a group hug. Hugging back with tear-filled eyes, Valerie wrapped her her fellow teenagers in a golden aura, preparing to send them back down to Amphibia.

"You better come back alive you two," Sasha started, pointing at the best friends accusingly as she was sent down. "I swear to frog you better!"

The brunette sighed, moving her feet as she took a quick glance to the poofy-haired girl. "You feeling ready to die?" She asked with a dry chuckle.

"just about." Anne replied, smiling at the sarcastic comment before slipping her hand into her best friend's. After all, if they were gonna call on this together, they probably needed to be connected through something, as they turned to meet the core's many unsettling eyes.

"Whelp, you dare use amphibia's greatest treasure against us?" They asked, watching the four stones that the girls held up with their free hands.

"These stones are not amphibia's greatest treasure." Valerie said, one of her eyes being overtaken with gold as she felt her eyebrows furrow at the comment. "They're nothing close to it."

The teenagers' eyes collectively shifted to the stones, before the blue one out of the two started to speak in a hushed voice.

"Mother Olm said all we had to do was ask, so..." She trailed off for a
