Yall already know what it is

But before we get into it, I wanna show you some more art pieces and please ignore how bad the quality is

This is Valerie in 'the second temple' it's her winter outfit

This is Valerie's armour look! This is when she's full on fighting and wants to be extra (also this is her outfit in true colours

And then the long awaited:

VALERIE IN A SUIT

Let me break it down

So this would have a suit jacket on or not depending on the part of the ep, but it's a leather vest that looks like a belt that's just been tied around her a bunch of times with a white button up underneath, black pants that flare out at the bottom and a black suit jacket.

That along with brown boots with fluff at the top (you will not catch Valerie dead in anything other than boots)

Okie, have fun reading-

but prepare for trauma and angst :)

-

Valerie looked at herself in the mirror as she couldn't decide what exactly to do with her outfit.

mmm, suit jacket? or no suit jacket?  The brunette asked herself, narrowing her eyes at her reflection and puckering her lips in thought. Then, she started to mutter out the phrase, "suit jacket, or no suit jacket?" taking the item of clothing off, before putting it back on. Taking it off, and putting it back on.

Eh, whatever, I'll go without for now.

You see, ever since the third temple, Valerie's super-sight hadn't seen to left her. And while she loved the fact that she could see things from basically a mile away, and if she squinted a little too hard she could even see through walls, it also made her see the little things about herself, like the way one side of her hair would fall a little less voluminous than the other.

"that's just great for my self esteem." she muttered to herself out loud, before turning to the nearby clock. Her eyes widened as she noticed the time, and she rushed out the door of Marcy's fwagon, making her way towards the house as she heard squealing and Polly yelling "Human friendships are loud!"

The brunette leaned on the door frame, letting the three get all their laughs out, before she cleared her throat, and suddenly all eyes were on her.

"Am I uh... interrupting something?"

There was a pause in the air that lasted a couple of seconds, before squeals and smiles filled the air once again as she was tackled in a hug by all three of her friends (Marcy at first, unsurprisingly) as she let out a little giggle herself at the three's antics.

"Alright, now let's get to eating, I'm starving."

-

Everyone was now taking their seats. Valerie sat between Marcy and Anne-- with the first on her right and the latter on her left. She heard an angry Sasha as Sprig took the seat next to the poofy-haired girl, and Grime and Sasha seemed to start coughing at each other, trying to communicate.

The group seemed to look back and forth between the duo as they coughed. Valerie just leaned into the shorter girl next to her, with her eyes still flickering back and forth repeatedly. "Uh, is it weird that I can understand everything they're saying?"

"Kind of, yeah," Was what she got in response.

Then, Hop-Pop, who seemed a little confused at the whole interaction, decided to speak up. "Anyone need a cough drop?" he looked between the two, being met with silence before Sasha rolled her eyes and came to sit at the other side of the table with Grime and Hop-Pop.

"Welp, enjoy, everyone!" The orange frog said as the group started to eat. Valerie grabbed her fork and started to gently pick at her meal, eating small mouthfuls of it. It seemed rather silent for something that was supposed to be a dinner party, she'd been to plenty before that were full of chatter-- but then again, this one was very small.

"mm, it tastes so fresh!" she overheard Grime say approvingly after he took a bite of his giant raddish. "you must tell me which frogs you extort for produce."

"um, we are frogs." Sprig commented blatantly to the green toad man at the other side of the table.

"oh, right. Yes, of course"

 The dinner fell silent.

Valerie looked from side to side, seeming to pause as she was lifting her fork to her lips. "...damn, that's crazy." was all she said, not really sure what else to say in such a silent situation. She could hear her girlfriend stifle her giggle at the little overused comment.

"...So anyone wanna hear a joke?" Hop-Pop asked the group, putting a finger up. Anne across from the table seemed to hate the idea, muttering an "oh, no." to herself, she looked like her dad was about to tell a joke, which was kind of right?

"I can already feel the second hand embarrassment coming in," Valerie said as she brought her hands up, intertwining her own fingers and burying her face into them. She agreed with her friend, honestly, she'd heard too many dad jokes for her liking, and she thought she'd finally escaped them when she had gotten transported here.

"How many toads does it take to screw in a mushroom light?"

"...How many?" Grime next to him replied.

"None! They prefer utter darkness and the smell of blood!"

The silence seemed to take over again. Although this time it felt very loud. Very, very loud. And not the chirping of the crickets loud.

Valerie's eyes were currently wide and she seemed to blink a coulple of times, wondering if she heard Hop-Pop right. That was technically racist, right? what was it with old men she met and them being racist? jeez.

Grime raised his hand, and he looked like he was about to knock Hop-Pop out, especially with that angry stare. Instead, he hit the old frog on the back of the head 'playfully', letting out a loud chortle. "Oh it's so true! Good one small frog." His arm landed to wrap around Hop-Pop.

Awkward laughs were exchanged from around the table. Valerie then (she'd seemed to have stopped eating) leaned her head a little to the side to fall on Marcy's shoulder. She felt the girl freeze up, before loosening and placing an arm around her shoulders.

The two just listened to some of the chatter around the table as the noirette leaned in close and dropped her voice to a whisper. "You look very beautiful tonight." She said as she grabbed the girl's suit jacket off her chair, placing it around Valerie's shoulders.

"I could tell you thought so," said girl replied, snuggling her head a little further into her shoulder. "You were staring at me for like, half of the time we've been here. You're not subtle, cupcake."

"I'm sorry, but my girlfriend is wearing a suit, am I not allowed to stare?" Marcy replied with a chuckle, looking over and meeting those aqua eyes with her own. "Plus, you were totally staring when I was wearing a suit."

"that- I can't even argue with that. You win. I'm keeping my dignity."

"Wise choice."

"oh my gosh, guys," Sasha suddenly said at the other end of the table suddenly, capturing the attention of the four human girls at the other end. Valerie's head stayed on Marcy's shoulder for the time being, though. "do you guys ever think back on that dorky medieval school play we were in? I'm so happy the armor here is better. oh- remember when I convinced you guys to skip rehearsal and hang out on the roof?"

Valerie recalled that very clearly. That was one of the first interactions of the friend-group where she took notice of Sasha's behavior. I remember trying to shut that idea down where it stood.

"And we had the loudest dance party?" Anne replied back excitedly, throwing her hands up in the air. It was nice that they had fond memories of that interaction, at least.

"heh, classic." Sasha chuckled to herself, before she brought her hand up and placed her nose between her forefinger and thumb. "Why'd we stop doing things like that?"

Because I shut you down to try and make you feel powerless so you'd lay off these impressionable teenagers, Sasha.

But of course Valerie didn't say that.

"Well, when we got caught," Marcy started unsurely, looking to Anne with concern at the memory. "Anne took the blame and said it was her idea."

"My parents grounded me." The Thai girl said, looking down to the ground.

"And we all got detention for like, three days." The brunette added, putting a finger up as she make her point, before that arm went back to draping over Marcy's frame.

"oh, yeah," The blonde seemed a little awkward now. "Forgot about that."

There was a small pause before Anne spoke up.

"eh, it's in the past," She smiled in Sasha's direction, resting her hands together on the table. "We're all different people now."

Absolutely not-

NO?!

Valerie herself spoke in her head first, before hearing Gold call out a lot louder in agreement.

"Or are we?" Sprig said from under the table, his eyes just barely managing to peek over the flat surface.

He recieved a glare from Anne, but a silent thank you from Valerie for saying what she was thinking in her head.

After another bit of silence, Hop-Pop spoke up to ask a question, hoping to keep the guests he was hosting for entertained. "say, um, who's up for a rousing game of drawsidoodle?"

Captain Grime stood up. Everyone looked a mixture of confused and terrified as he did, before he raised his fists. "I..." he brought his hands down, smashing the table and sending everything (and everyone) flying backwards. "LOVE DRAWSIDOODLE!"

-

The group of amphibians and humans currently sat in the Plantars living room. The Vol-cake-no was positioned behind them, which bubbled and earned a quick glance from them all, but it was payed no more mind, for now, at least.

Valerie was currently seated at the end of the couch, with Marcy at her left and her legs casually draped over the armrest of the old sofa. She had her eyes on the board, where Grime currently drew something after he picked out a prompt from the bowl of papers.

Guesses were thrown out, but Valerie didn't pay attention at all. Her new super-sight made being in a harshly lit room at night an interesting experience, it was all a little overwhelming for her, so she just kind of...

...spaced out. Until her eyes landed on the Vol-cake-no behind them all, and she could hear it bubbling. Then she had an idea.

She paused, trying to focus. Her eyes started to narrow a little, which seemed to dim the light around her object of focus. As she narrowed them a little more, she could feel her eyes start to tingle. Like pins and needles, almost, that was a weird feeling to have in your vision.

Before she knew it, her vision tainted with gold. This was something she'd been experimenting with recently, the x-ray vision that she'd manage to bring out with enough focus. She could then she right through the tarp, and while she couldn't see all the details, it was still pretty cool.

Before she could really take it in, however, she felt her head start to spin. And not in the good way, in the way where if she tried to do anything she felt like she'd actually pass out.

Her eyes return to their normal width. When she looked down to her hands, they were shaking violently. Her breathing was a lot heavier than normal, and she could see different scenes in her head. Scenes from her past seemed to be coming back to haunt her in flashes through her vision. Maybe it was the bright lights...

Then a familiar voice spoke in her head.

If you wanna be your best, you need to work through it, Valerie.

She could feel tears start to well up in her eyes.

I-I can't.

Yes, you can. The universe doesn't give you anything you can't work through.

Sasha's voice snapped her out of her head.

"oh come on! Valerie will know what I'm drawing, Val-" The blonde said as she looked over at her, before she noticed her blank expression and heavy breathing. She looked like she was having a severe panic attack. "woah, are you alright, girl?"

Everyone's eyes seemed to turn to her. Valerie felt like she was back at one of those parties she used to attend, with hungry eyes on her and staring right through her soul. She looked down at the ground and got up from the couch, managing a quick "excuse me for a minute." as she made her way out of the house.

-

Valerie just needed a minute to breathe.

If she was in there any longer, she'd suffocate.

She wasn't going to cry, no, not just yet, she just needed enough time to push down her tears and put on a fake smile before going back inside. she'd let all her feelings out at the end of the night.

She gripped onto the suit jacket she had around her to protect her from the cold night air around her. The wind was helping the heat radiating off of her puffy face that seemed tear-stained, despite the fact that it wasn't.

She just stayed there for few minutes. And as she finally managed to put her happy disguise on and she turned back to the house to return to the party, some kind of... big skull volcano burst through the roof.

"Ah, perfect timing, she muttered to herself.

Valerie made her way to the wall, starting to place her feet and arms from stone to stone to climb up. She finally made it to the top, which was a perfect position to analyze the situation below her, especially since the floor was kind of... coated in lava. That's nice.

It was easy to guess what was going on. Captain Grime had brought a Vol-Cake-no, which was a Toad classic, to a frog hosted dinner party, unaware that they didn't do it. They were supposed to fight for dessert. That's great. And now they had to clean it up.

Just when Valerie really thought the situation would be at what was it's lowest, bloody hornets started to climb out of the holes in the cake. And when she looked down, Grime had gotten shot with one of the stingers. She grimaced at the sight, she knew how bad that paralysis was.

She then jumped down onto the couch between where Anne and Sasha were, reaching into her shirt and pulling out a knife after she stuck the landing.

Sasha paused, blinking at her and seeming a little confused about where that knife came from. "Uh, where did you just pull that out of?"

"My bra." She replied rather casually.

"that's weird."

"You mean you don't  keep knives in your bra?"

"No?"

"But you keep them in your boots. Not tonight though, weirdly."

"How the hell do you know that-"

Anne chimed in, breaking off the little conversation between the two as she pointed to the Plantars who were on the couch across from them, where the armrests of said piece of furniture were getting repeatedly stabbed by two hornet's stingers on each side. "Brute forcing is gonna take too long!"

"You got a better idea?" Valerie asked as she looked in Anne's direction.

"I might, Marcy!" She yelled out, standing up. "You still have your crossbow?"

"Only always!" The noirette replied from the piece of wood she was on, pulling her sleeve down just a bit for the contraction to spring up. She then gasped as she finally got the idea. "oh, brilliant, Anne! We can't pierce their shells," she grabbed the stinger out of Grime's back, loading it into her weapon and aiming. "..but maybe their own stingers can!"

She fired the crossbow, which landed the stinger right in the heart of a wasp that was flying above of them, which immediately froze and fell into the lava.

"hey, that actually worked!" Sasha commented, only for Anne to quickly grab her shoulders.

"All right Sash, I need you to get all their attention, get them mad at you!"

"Now that I can do!"

The red-armored girl grasped her weapon tighter and leaped off to do her part.

Anne then turned to Valerie to give her orders. "Alright, Val, how may more knives you got?"

"a lot more," the brunette replied, reaching into her shirt and managing to pull out what seemed to be five daggers in just one handful, without getting injured.

"great, you alright with losing a few of them? Marcy will need to fire something until we have more stingers," Anne responded. She received a nod from her best friend who saluted and said "yes ma'am!" before jumping onto the wooden platform Marcy was on.

"hey." She said in a playful tone as she made her way closer to her girlfriend, who smiled up at her.

"hey, bunny. You feeling okay now?" Marcy asked in a gentle tone of voice as their eyes met. The taller girl nodded and was about to speak, but before she could-

"NO LOVEY-DOVEY NONSENSE WE'RE ON A MISSION." Anne added in a shout from behind the couple.

"okay, sheesh."

Valerie just handed Marcy one of her knives which she was quick to load into her crossbow and shoot up at one of the flying insects. The bug sent a stinger their way in retaliation, which the brunette managed to catch as if flew past her and she handed it to the girl next to her.

More and more stingers came their way-- sometimes from Anne and Sasha, sometimes stray ones that Valerie would catch and give to her girlfriend to shoot. As the last bug went down, the molten liquid around them turned to a solid brown color.

Sprig stepped an unsure foot onto the ground, before he looked up in delight. "hey, the choco-lava is solid now!" He said as the other Planters climbed off the couch as well.

As the quartet also climbed off their assorted furniture pieces, Valerie was the first to walk over to Sasha and Anne, before Marcy also ran over and tackled all three of them in a hug.

"whoo! now that's some ding-dang teamwork, right?" There was a pause in the air as both the girls seemed to get more awkward, while the brunette just kind of got closer to Marcy and let them have their space. "Right?"

"Anne," Sasha started, stepping back from her friends. "I'm sorry I lost my cool and I- I know you want me to change who I am, but I don't know if I can. I like who I am."

You really shouldn't.

"Maybe what I'm asking
