The others couldn't believe what their eyes were seeing. It felt like a bucket of cold water was poured down their heads. They were confused by the scenario update.

Jung Heewon complained, but her mouth was completely sewn shut the moment she read the contents. Her eyes widening once she noticed the changes in the scenario.

"T-This is a joke, right?"

Her eyes slowly went to Kim Dokja's direction, only to find the man facing the ground, frowning.

'Ah..' She realized instantly. Sometimes, words aren't the only things that could be considered as answers.

Since his silence alone spoke volumes.

[The constellation 'Demon-Like Judge of Fire' is contemplating.]

"W-Wait.. Does that mean that we have to?" Jihye couldn't believe it. The grip on her sword loosened as she read the update over and over again.

The same goes for the others.

"Fighting him?... N-No n-no no! This doesn't make sense!" Lee Hyunsung tried to deny it.

"I don't want to fight him," Lee Jihye felt disheartened.

Yet no matter what they did, it wouldn't wake them from the nightmare they're living through. Kim Dokja clenched the handle of his sword and looked up.

"He must've anticipated this," Yoo Junghuk stepped beside him. His cold voice matched his face as he focused at the enemy in front of them. Dokja knew what the man was feeling right now. Yet, he didn't dare to point out the fact that he was wearing an expression he himself would deem as weakness.

All of it was happening too fast. Like a lighting striking down earth, or a bullet train passing through the station.

He just couldn't believe this was happening all at once.

"Why are you hesitating?"

The man's words brought them back to realization. Despite the harsh and cruel way Rimuru picked to save them all, they couldn't deny that they wanted to live.

Rimuru must've done this with a purpose, they knew.

Hesitantly, everyone picked up their own weapon and stepped forward, preparing themselves to fight the Disaster. But..

"Everyone."

The second they heard the man's voice, they stopped on their tracks. It felt like something was preventing their foot from taking another step. Something was preventing their bodies to move. Like gravity was holding them in place.

Hesitance.

They were hesitating.

Rimuru could see their faces even from his angle. As much as he wanted to talk to them for the last time, he couldn't afford to waste a second.

Their lives were on the line.

"Let's end this damn scenario together, okay?"

Rimuru's smile, his words, weakened their spirits. Kim Dokja couldn't even lift his sword. And all he could feel was Rimuru's eyes sweeping at him softly.

This wasn't part of the ending he wished to create.

"Kim Dokja, Yoo Junghuk," Rimuru called them out, and both of them listened.

There was no time for hesitation.

"You know what to do."

[Flames of Hell] exploded from Dokja's sword and he immediately rushed into the center and made a large swing against Rimuru's body.

The latter took the damage, causing blood to gush out from his body.

Yoo Junghuk appeared behind him, placing his sword behind, before surging it forward, thrusting it hardly enough to pierce through Rimuru's defenses.

"That's not enough."

It was still not enough.

Lee Hyunsung, Yoo Sangah, Lee Jihye, and Jung Heewon could only watch as the two men started to attack Rimuru. Every swing of their sword brought blood on the ground.

They felt conflicted.

They felt scared.

Scared not because of the danger, but because of the thought of losing one friend over their lives.

"What are you doing?!" Kim Dokja snapped at them.

"Swing your swords and kill him if you don't want to die!"

They still struggled. They didn't want this. They never wanted th—

"If ever his sacrifices went in vain, it will be all your fault."

Yoo Junghyuk's blood shot eyes gave them a deadly warning, and they couldn't do anything but swallow it down. Each of them picked up their weapons once again and attacked.

Rimuru felt happy.

"Lee Jihye.." Jihye didn't want to hear his voice. She couldn't stand it. Using [Ghost Walk] and [Instant Kill], her sword precisely dealt with his chest, opening up a large wound.

Rimuru wanted to praise the girl, but Lee Hyunsung's presence made him smile even more.

"Hyuns—

A powerful skull-crushing punch flew on Rimuru's head, burying his face underground.

But it was still not enough.

[The probability of the scenario has taken control over your body!]

Rimuru's figure healed and his eyes went crazed.

[The constellations are watching with fascination!]

[The constellations are cheering at your demise!]

'Keep talking.'

Rimuru's body started to fight back against the others.

'Keep mocking me to your heart's content.'

Until they started to feel overwhelmed by the sheer power he possessed.

'Until the day comes..'

His claws grew sharper to the point of matching their swords, and his wings cascaded them and covered them with its shadow.

'It will be your turn to be devoured.'

[The stigma 'Flames of Hell Lvl.1' has been activated!]

Jung Heewon combusted the edges of her sword with the flames, its light shining throughout the battlefield.

'I see... That's the only way.'

Rimuru could see the hope and his demise at the same time.

"H-Heew—

"AGHH!!"

Jung Heewon slammed her sword onto his neck, attempting to cut him in half but got stuck.

'No!'

Rimuru's claws immediately rose, but a golden web coiled around his arm and held him back from shredding Heewon to pieces.

Yoo Sangah grunted as she did her best to hold back one arm, then Hyunsung came to help her and pulled the web, preventing Rimuru's claws from drawing any closer near Heewon.

"AHHH!!!" Jung Heewon's eyes blazed as she pushed the sword deeper into his flesh.

Punish evil. It nagged in her mind everytime she used her skills as the Judge of Destruction. Yet, right now, it was silent.

Even the angels knew that Rimuru wasn't evil. Yet...

"I-I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.." Jung Heewon's flames couldn't evaporate her tears. But her emotions strengthened her power even more.

[The stigma 'Flames of Hell Lvl.2' has been activated!]

Lee Jihye roared and used [Demon Slaying] to land a strike at Rimuru's other side.

[Time Limit: One minute remaining..]

"AHH!!!"

Yoo Junghuk came rushing towards them, slamming his sword at Rimuru, causing his mask to be blown away.

"Junghyuk.."

Yoo Junghuk didn't want to hear it. He let out a loud grunt as he slowly pushed deeper into his body, the sound of flesh shredding reached his ears in a traumatic manner. Until, their swords finally went past through flesh and bones, and Rimuru fell on the ground.

'Finally..'

Rimuru thought happily.

They severed his shoulders, and his chest was torn open, revealing his still beating heart.

He slowly moved his eye and looked at the man walking towards him. The man who would do the favor of dealing the finishing blow.

Rimuru took his time, using [Sage's Mind] to memorize his face. He always wondered what part of him was ugly. And now he knew, none of it were true.

"Kim Dokja."

Kim Dokja picked up the fallen mask and walked towards him.

"Hi.."

It's always been hi and hello.

Rimuru's bloody smile etched into his brain. As if it was TWAS, he wouldn't be able to forget.

"Hello," he crouched down and placed the mask on his face, then stood up once more.

He never knew why this hurts so much despite him being the one who was attacking.

But it was too late for him to turn his back.

Regrets will follow on later.

"Goodbye."

Kim Dokja said towards Rimuru. Then, both of them smiled. He raised his sword, accumulating [Pure White Star Energy] and [Flames of Hell] into it's edges as he stared at Rimuru's heart.

One strike and this scenario will end.

Just one strike...

And it'll end.

"I'll see you later," Rimuru whispered. Behind his mask, his eyes already closed.

Kim Dokja smiled softly.

"See you."

—before dealing the final blow on Rimuru's heart.
