"you suck at mario kart," heeseung mumbled at jay, who didn't make the race again.

jay grunted, getting up the couch. "i fucking hate this game." he went straight to the kitchen to grab a can of sprite.

at the same time, sunoo just got out of his room after he fell asleep for two hours. he rubbed the side of his eye while walking towards the living room.

"sorry, did we wake you up?" heeseung said, his eyes still glued on the tv screen.

sunoo shakes his head and sits beside him. "don't you two have classes? why are you always here?" he glanced at the clock on the wall. it's already past 4 pm.

"we're preparing for the exhibit so they postponed the classes," the older handed him his small blanket, which he always uses everytime he's sitting on the couch.

"i have a seminar but i skipped it!" jay yelled from the kitchen.

sunoo nodded, still feeling a bit sleepy. he stares at heeseung while the guy continues to play mario kart.

he thought he was used to it but somehow, he can't help but notice the difference. this distance, this set up- a lot changed, and i hate to admit it to myself.

he cleared his throat. "by the way, we'll be at the exhibit next week too. you know, journalism stuff."

"yeah, i already knew that. i know you wouldn't miss it." heeseung chuckled. "you're gonna be with sunghoon right? or with jeno this time?"

"none of the above. sunghoon's too busy these days and jeno's not our official photographer anymore so..."

"ah, right." heeseung paused the game to look at sunoo. "ni-ki's the new photo journalist." his expression was blank.

"yeah, i'll help him document the whole event."

"sounds great."

there was a minute of silence before jay joined them again, disrupting what seemed to become an awkward situation for them.

awkward? since when did things start to become awkward between us? sunoo pushed the thought at the back of his mind. he's probably just overthinking things.

heeseung raised his head after he finished one game. "jay, let's race again."

jay rolled his eyes. "nah, i hate playing against you." he was munching on the chips while sitting on the bean bag.

"hyung, how about you play with me instead?" sunoo grinned and grabbed the other controller.

heeseung raised an eyebrow. "sure, but don't sulk if you lose to me."

"excuse me? i don't sulk."

"oh really? you don't pout and get all moody everytime i win against you?" the older reached out to pinch his cheek, and sunoo furrowed his eyebrows as he tried to avoid contact.

"no, and i mostly win in mario kart- stop it!" sunoo giggled when heeseung slid his hand on his waist, tickling him.

jay looked at the two with disbelief. "oh for fuck's sake," he stood up, grabbing his food and walking towards his room.

he glanced at his two friends who are completely oblivious of their surroundings that they didn't even notice that jay already left.

those two are dumb and dumber personified.

the four are busy watching a marvel movie, the one which sunghoon eagerly suggested. sunoo is sprawled on the floor, while heeseung, sunghoon, and jay are all sitting on the couch.

"wait, let me get some ice cream." sunoo got up, hurrying towards the fridge before the movie gets to the exciting part.

after the boy left, his phone- which was on top of the table, started vibrating.

"sun, i think someone's texting you." sunghoon yelled while his concentration is on the tv.

"who?" sunoo asked.

"how would i know?" sunghoon yelled back again with annoyance.

"are you stupid? of course you have to check my phone to know!"

"that's invasion of privacy!"

sunoo's loud foot steps were heard. "wow, thank you for respecting my privacy." his tone was laced with sarcasm. he was holding a tub of ice cream on his hands.

he looked around and spotted heeseung. "hyung, can you do me a favor and check who texted? thank you!"

heeseung nodded. "okay."

he reached for sunoo's phone and tried to click it open using his fingerprint, and it did. oh, my fingerprint is still here.

heeseung stared at the message, reading it thoroughly.

"it's from riki."

"riki?" sunoo stopped scooping on the ice cream. "hyung, can you reply to him? tell him that i'll just talk to him later. thanks!"

"sure," heeseung looked at the screen before tapping a reply.
