"Hiro, Hiro stop giving me the silent treatment you asshole."

Y/n sighed as she watched her beloved boyfriend walk past her, going from desk to desk in his lab.

"Hiro...Hirooooo... seriously, just hear me out for the love of fucking God. "

It seemed he was still annoyed at her.

She attempted to break his stubborn streak by leaning her chin on his shoulder, talking into his ear.

The moment Y/n lowered her voice into a murmur, Hiro felt his face begin to heat up. Her breath brushed against the sensitive skin of his ear, like the whisper of a butterfly's wings. The sensation causing tingles to run up and down his nervous system before settling within his stomach. A ball of heat, tingled from within his stomach, and he had to physically clench his fists to stop himself from punching the feeling out his stomach.

With her hands holding him still, and her strength compared to his, she knew she had him stuck.

Y/n had never understood the appeal of seduction when it came to tactics, but she couldn't deny the acute thrill she felt everytime he gave in to her charms.

"Hiro, baby, please just hear me out."

She spoke into the crook of his neck, grinning when she felt him visibly shiver and his posture relax from it's previous stiff position.

She kissed just under his jaw

"Mmh, I'm sorry honey. Don't give me silent treatment please. You've not even let me tell you anything."

She felt him clench his jaw slightly to hold back a physical response.

"You trusted Azriel enough to let him go with you, and not me, that says enough."

Y/n sighed, letting go of him as she leaned against his desk, and hopped up, watching him continue to sulk as he worked on his next project.
"I only asked Azriel cause he's someone who I knew could calm Rosaline easily before she had a fit. The cards played into my hands though, she recognised me and calmed down as she let me explain what we were doing there."

"Oh."

Hiro turned to her.

"That still doesn't explain all the pictures Azriel sent to me."

The young woman felt her brow twitching slightly with irritation.
"Hiro do I look remotely happy in the pictures?"

She asked, watching him bring out his phone as he looked at her, glancing up and down at the photos and then to her. As always, Y/n was right, and Hiro bit his tongue as he realised that whilst Azriel was posing or doing some silly act, Y/n had her head down and was typing at her laptop or she was on her phone, and in the one picture she was aware he was taking, her middle finger was held at the camera.

"Oh."

"Also I didn't take you cause I knew you wouldn't wake up."

She added on afterwards, drinking some of the energy drink that he had on his desk and grinning as she watched him glare at her.

"I would have."

"You wouldn't have, love. You were patrolling late the other night, you needed the rest."

Hiro's gaze softened slightly, and he breathed out a groan as he walked towards her, burying his face into the crook of her neck once he was close enough.
"I hate it when you're right, you know that?"
He murmured, settling on her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, groaning slightly as she scratched his head.

"Yeah, I know."
The h/c haired woman replied quietly, a smile playing on her lips when she felt him relax against her. Then she pushed his hair back slightly to kiss his hairline.
"I'll make up for lost time we could have spent together, I promise."

Hiro let out a huff, feigning annoyance as he lifted his head up biting her jawline lightly before grinning against her lips, hands around her waist.
"You'd better stick that promise, Princess."

"They're so fucking gross."
Gogo muttered from the other side of the room where the group stood awkwardly, on the outside of that invisible barrier the two teens were stuck in, which was positively flooded with affection and hormones and the occasional giggle from Y/n.
"She giggled. She fucking giggled. Hacker doesn't giggle."

"One of them's a biter, and it definitely isn't Hiro this time."
Fred remarked casually he tossed some chips into his mouth, speaking with a mouthful.
"I've seen 3 bite marks on him so far. One of them was on his arm."

"Okay that's it !"
Wasabi let out a yell as he grabbed Hiro from the back of his hoodie and pulled him, forcefully, away from the turquoise-haired girl.
"No more smooching you two, can we please know what happened yesterday?"

"Dude, what gives ?!"
Hiro yelped as he was dragged away from his girlfriend, trying to get away from Wasabi's death grip on his hoodie.

Y/n on the other hand showed no signs of moving from the desk to help him.
"Oh, yeah, that's right. I have a lot to tell everyone."
She nodded her head, activating Rem who was powered down alongside Baymax so that neither of them made unnecessary comments towards herself and her boyfriend.

"As you're all aware."
She pulled up a picture on a holographic screen, revealing Rosaline before she'd been turned into the hysterical old hag she was now.
"Azriel and I visited Rosaline. No one could seem to get any information out of her without her going crazy, so Azzy and I went since-"

"Since when did you start calling him Azzy?"
Hiro interjected quickly, and Y/n groaned, rolling her eyes.

"Hiro, I swear to god if you comment on it one more time-"
She paused, sucked the skin of her cheek in slightly and took a breath.
"Anyways. Rosaline seemed calm around Azriel, who seems to be able to charm his way to any woman. But she recognised me too so we actually sat down and talked."

Y/n revealed the documents of information and educated guesses she'd been making upon the evidence she'd recieved. Within 24 hours of going to the UK and back, she'd compiled a document of 10, thoroughly written and explored possibilities of what had happened to the poor woman. It was a long winded, and considerably confusing explanation to understand, especially with the detail that she had gone into during her research and hypothetical possibilities.

"She mentioned a bug bite, and I talked to Zakir and asked him to examine the others who were working with 'Perfect', and they all had a similar bite mark on their hand."
She looked back up at everyone after displaying  the images of the tiny marks that would have been easy to look over, unless someone had a sharp eye for detail. Zoomed in and enhanced, the bite marks were prominently displayed, each mark looking identical on the victims.

"We knew that Sagittarius had unusual ways of using poisons but...oh my god..."

Hiro watched her pale in the brief moment she stood still, before bolting towards the direction of the door, leaving a confused group behind her. Once they all caught their bearings however, Hiro quickly dashed after her, and the rest of the group ran after the both of them, trying to find out why she'd suddenly darted off like that.

He followed his girlfriend towards the grounds of the campus, toward the threshold that would mean entry onto the campus, or exit, falling into a crouch and looking around slightly like she had dropped something.

"Rem, Rem scan the ground for anything remotely unusual."
She demanded, and her beloved companion chirped his response, a blue laser scanning over the ground and towards the patch of grass. A steady stream of blue light engulfing the ground as he hovered along slowly. When he paused, the light of his scanner turned green, and Y/n immediately reached towards the area, rummaging between blades of grass, crouching so low she was almost bowing her head against the ground before she suddenly stood up again. Running back towards the building.

"Sapphire, switch on my scanners, now."

Without another word, the group watched once more as she darted back towards the building, a little too quickly for a woman who was wearing heels, but they followed anyways. Watching helplessly, and slightly confused as Y/n dropped something onto the scanner, which at first glance looked like a ball of lint, or something similar, until the scanner began processing the object and creating a larger holographic image of the item, sized up.

"What..is that..."
Fred asked the question that was on everyone's mind as they observed the image floating in front of them. The image of what looked like a parasite, with all the details and appendages and even the same mouth as a ladybug under a microscope would have, but what was not normal was the metallic silver coat, the dents in the body and the acute sparks that seemed to erupt from it.

"That..."

Y/n frowned as she looked at the 3D imaging of the scan, turning it over and over to examine every inch of the device she'd found. A small beetle-shaped device. One that could easily be mistaken for any other insect unless you had the technology to really inspect it properly.

"I'm going to need some time to dissect this."
She said firmly, a frown marring her features as she continued to look at the image in front of her.
"Please leave the room, I want to focus as much as I can on this."

Hiro hesitated, like the others, stepping forward and pressing himself to her side, bringing a hand to her shoulder and squeezing it.
"Princess..."

Y/n hung her head, a weary sigh leaving her, and she nodded her head, quietly asking him to stay with her before she turned to face him.
"Hiro..."

He smiled softly at her, his hand moving up to rest on the top of her head before he slid it to the back of her head, pulling her against his chest. He glanced towards the rest of the group, quietly gesturing with his head, and one by one everyone left, leaving the two teens in the room.

"I'm so tired of this."

She murmured, voice muffled by the fabric of his shirt as she bought her hands up to hold onto him loosely. Fingers curling in the familiar material and her senses being overwhelmed by the scents she'd memorised at this point, that she felt nothing but a sense of peace and comfort wash over her in his presence.

"Tired of everything leading to something else. Tired of this maze that we're being led into. Tired of seeing people from my past come back like a fucking ghost."

Hiro was quiet as he listened to her, his grip on her tightening each time he felt her shoulders slump and her weight lean more against him than on her own legs.

"You've been awake for the last 24 hours."
He murmured softly.
"You're sleep deprived and stressed. I don't blame you for feeling like this when you're running yourself ragged Princess."
He held her by the shoulders like it was the only thing preventing her from collapsing on the spot from sheer exhaustion. The raven haired teen was already familiar with her behavioural patterns when she was stressed and overworking herself, without needing to ask her anything, and automatically he was mentally trying to figure out how to lessen the burdens she insisted on holding herself.
"Anything I can do to help? Two heads are better than one Princess."
He coaxed her head up to look at him, his caramel-coloured eyes meeting her weary ones.
"Come on, you know we work better together."

Y/n looked at him quietly for a few moments, as though debating silently with herself before she sighed and leaned her head on his shoulder again.

"Kay."

She looked to Rem who was hovering over the two of them quietly, concern written all over his digital face, and with a deep breath she straightened out her expression into it's usual stern one.

"Rem, call Azriel."

__________ 💙  __________

Azriel's jaw was hanging open the moment he saw the 3D scan, and all the way through Y/n's explanation on what she and Hiro had figured out so far by dissecting the robotic bug that they'd found.

"Hold on a second, give my smooth pebble brain some time to process this."
He shook his head, handsome face scrunched into an expression of confusion and utter bewilderment.

"So you're telling me, someone has been making these bugs, and they inject this type of mind control chip or something into their victims, who then end up being turned into someone's fucking minion or something?"

He opened his eyes, brows scrunched and rubbing his forehead as he looked at the two teens in front of him, and shook his head, rubbing his face with his hands and dragging them down as he let out a long groan.

"That's fucked up."
He struggled to come to terms with the new information, shaking his head repeatedly as he paced the room.
"That is so fucked up."

Once he managed to gather himself together, Azriel shot question after question to the two teens, not pausing to actually listen to an answer.
"Where did they come from? Who made them why? When? How?"
Another heavy groan into his hands before he looked at them silently for a few seconds.
"Fuck, and you're telling me these are the reason behind...fuck, fuck, fuck all those people behind bars for shit out of their control."

He took a moment to try and catch his bearings, a feat that seemed impossible considering the absolute incredulity of the findings in front of them.

"What are you going to do?"

Azriel asked, and stopped talking, holding the most serious expression both Y/n and Hiro had ever seen on the crimson-haired man's face.

"The only thing that we can do."
Y/n muttered with a sigh as she fell onto her chair and switched scanner off, taking down the 3D imaging that was displayed before she spun on her seat to look at him again. Her eyes met his amber ones, and without talking it felt as though he already knew what she was going to say. His expression mirrored hers, both pairs of eyes holding the same determined glow that they did whenever either of them picked up an important job.
"We find the mother fuckers who created these things."

Her attention was temporarily pulled away in that moment, as she felt a buzzing in the pocket of her jacket, and she fished out her phone, brows raising slightly as she saw who was calling her.
"Oh, I'm getting a call from dad, hold on."
She glanced at Hiro briefly as she picked up the call.

"Hey Dad, what's up?"

"Have you picked up Isla already."

He asked in a tone that wasn't questioning. It was a demand. He wanted a yes or no.

Like an explosion, Y/n felt her heart begin to throb violently in her chest, as though it were on the verge of suddenly erupting unless she calmed down. But she couldn't, because she couldn't give her Father the answer he was probably looking for, and because she didn't, it meant that neither of them knew where her dear sister was.

Picking up on the silence, Min-Jae continued to talk

"At the school. Isla isn't here. They said she's already been collected."

"But I didn't...pick her..."

The scratch of static suddenly screamed into her ear, disorientating Y/n for a good view minutes as Hiro and Azriel watched, hearts dropping into their stomachs at the sight of Y/n's paling face. Watching as she dropped her phone onto the floor. Y/n stood up, feeling her blood pumping itself like crazy through her heart, adrenaline rushing through her veins and a thumping in her head and a screaming and ringing and ringing and static and ringing and Isla wasn't in school and Dad hadn't picked her up and someone had gotten Isla and not told her and it wasn't her or their neighbour or Grandad or Cass or Hunter's Mom and there's static coming from her phone and filling the room and...

Then it stopped, and Y/n felt arms around her body, and the familiar scent of cookies and cologne. Her body was lurching, confused as to why until the static and ringing in her head faded to make room for the sound of her own sobs to reach her ears as Hiro fired off question after question to Azriel who was holding my phone with a grim expression on his face.

"You've got a text message."

Azriel said quietly, a grim expression on his face as he turned her phone to face her. An omnious message typed out on the black screen, in a chatroom not like the one she'd specially created, but something else. A chatroom that was automatically opened on her phone as though someone had managed to get into it to pull it up, and white text reading.

Reaper.

- P

One word, and suddenly Y/n felt her entire world spiralling out of her hands and out of control. She felt sick, being violently harassed with emotions and images suddenly shooting themselves into her brain and heart from every single angle. It didn't feel like she was in her lab anymore, a small, safe space full of objects and people she was familiar with, but instead it felt like she was stuck in the middle of nowhere, stripped bare and completely exposed to be obliterated off the face of the earth.

"Azriel."

Y/n finally managed to choke out some words through the hysterical sobs she didn't realise were leaving her throat. Staggering towards him and curling her fists into his jacket as she shook him weakly, eyes bloodshot and wet and her tears leaving marks running down her cheeks as she looked into his amber eyes.

"Fuck. Azriel. Azriel it's...it's them."

Y/n broke into sobs once more, not that she'd stopped crying in the first place, and soon felt familiar arms guide guide her to the floor as Azriel paced the room, making a call to Krei and arranging for one of his jets.

"They've got her. They've got her."

She choked out, and Hiro tried to swallow the painful lump in his throat at the news that Isla, their sweet, innocent Isla, was missing, and more importantly, it seemed that both Y/n and Azriel had an idea of who it was.

"I know. I know...for fuck's sake pick up Krei you bastard."

Azriel cussed loudly into the phone as he tried to get through to the man, whilst Y/n heaved sobs out on the floor, head in her heands and hunched over so far she was almost praying to anything that would listen to her pleas.

"They've got her, we need to, we have to, I can't I-"

All sense of rational thought left her mind

"I dont know...I don't"

Her voice cracked again weakly

"Isla."
