Fact Thirty: The way the song got its title is crazy. Kurt was once dating a woman named Tobi Vail, and her bandmate Katherine Hanna once wrote "Kurt smells like teen spirit", on his apartment wall. There was a popular brand of deodorant called "Teen Spirit" Kurt wore that deodorant. So he smelt like Teen Spirit.

Fact Thirty-One: In the Smells Like Teen Spirit music video, there is a reference to a job Kurt used to have. In the music video, there is a janitor, Kurt used to work as a janitor.
