MILLIE WAS SPRAWLED across the bed, her phone in hand as she absentmindedly scrolled through it. her legs were tucked up under her, the hem of her shorts riding up slightly as she shifted. she was wearing a jacket with spongebob and patrick on the back, the oversized fit making her look cozy. her hair was messily tied up, a few strands falling around her face, and she didn't seem to care much about it.
harry had just walked into the room, the door clicking shut behind him as he threw his jacket over the chair. he paused for a second, taking in the sight of millie lounging there, the casual vibe of the room making everything feel just a bit more relaxed.
"do you ever wear actual clothes, or is it just this whole comfort thing all the time?" he asked, leaning against the doorframe with a smile.
millie didn't look up from her phone, rolling her eyes. "what, you don't like it?" she teased, flicking a glance at him. "i'm comfy. can't argue with that."
"you look like a cartoon character," he replied, walking over to the bed and sitting down next to her. "like, spongebob's about to come to life and start dancing around."
"well, spongebob's cool, so i'm fine with that," she said, finally putting her phone down and turning to face him. "you just jealous because you can't pull off the spongebob look."
harry chuckled, nudging her playfully. "yeah, sure. i'll leave that to you. but you've got the whole vibe down, i'll give you that."
"thanks," millie said with a grin, propping herself up on her elbows. "you look like you're about to go for a run or something. i don't know how you can wear those joggers all the time."
"hey, they're comfy too," he shot back, raising an eyebrow. "i'm just a fan of the whole 'athleisure' look. you know, high fashion and all that."
"right," millie laughed, "high fashion. just don't wear that to a fancy event, okay? we'll have a problem."
"i'll make sure to wear a tux with these joggers next time," he said, grinning.
they both fell into a comfortable silence for a moment, just enjoying each other's company. harry leaned back against the headboard, stretching his arms out as millie fiddled with the hem of her jacket.
"you doing okay?" he asked, his voice quieter now.
millie hesitated for a second, then nodded. "yeah, just busy. you know how it is. but i'm good."
"good," he said softly, his eyes locking with hers for a moment. "just checking."
she smiled at him, the warmth of his gaze making her feel at ease. "thanks for checking in," she said, her voice a little softer. "got a lot on my mind lately."
"anything you wanna talk about?" he asked, his tone sincere.
millie shook her head. "not right now. maybe later. but for now, let's just relax."
"sounds perfect to me," harry replied, settling back into the bed beside her. "we can just be lazy together. no rush."
they both relaxed into the moment, the quiet comfort of being in each other's presence enough for now.
harry stretched out on the bed next to millie, casually glancing around the room. he had been here enough times now that it felt like a second home. the hotel staff had even started to make little comments, as if they'd noticed the pattern too.
"you know," he said, breaking the silence with a smile, "the people here have started calling this room 'ours.'"
millie raised an eyebrow, her attention piqued. "what do you mean 'ours'?"
"like, whenever anyone asks for a room, they tell them this one's already taken. they don't even let other people book it anymore," he said, chuckling. "i think they're getting a little too attached to the idea of us staying here."
millie laughed, her eyes lighting up. "no way. they actually said that?"
"yeah, something like, 'sorry, this room's already occupied by our regulars.'" harry grinned, leaning back against the headboard. "i mean, it's kind of funny, right? like, we've made it our own little spot."
"i guess we have," millie said, her lips curling into a smile. "i mean, it's become pretty familiar, hasn't it? the place we always end up when we need a break from everything."
"yeah," harry agreed, his voice a little softer now. "it's like our little retreat. a place where we can be."
millie nodded, feeling the weight of his words. it was true. this room, this hotel, had become a little corner of peace for them, away from the chaos of their lives. it was strange how a place like this could feel so comfortable, but it had started to feel like theirs.
"well," millie said with a mischievous grin, "i guess we'll have to keep it our secret then. can't let anyone else get the privilege of staying in 'our' room."
"agreed," harry said, his smile matching hers. "this room's off-limits to anyone else. it's ours now."
they both laughed, the tension from earlier melting away as they shared a quiet moment of understanding. in that moment, the world outside seemed far away, and all that mattered was the space they had carved out for themselves.
as millie stretched out on the bed, her jacket slipped off her shoulders, revealing just her bra and shorts. she let out a sigh, clearly trying to cool down from the heat in the room. harry watched her for a moment, not trying to hide the way his gaze lingered. there was something about the way she lookedβcasual, comfortable, effortlessly stunningβthat made him smile.
"you look good right now," he said, his voice a little softer than usual, not trying to make it sound like a big deal, but the words slipped out anyway.
millie raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "oh?"
harry shrugged, trying to play it cool but still feeling a little flustered. "yeah, you actually do."
she paused for a second, her eyes flicking over to him with a teasing glint. "well, i'm glad to hear that," she replied, her voice a little lighter, a little more relaxed. "i feel like i could live in this outfit forever."
he laughed, leaning back on the bed next to her. "i wouldn't mind that," he said, his voice a little more playful now, the tension easing between them.
millie rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face said it all. "yeah, i'm sure you wouldn't." she shifted to get more comfortable, tucking her legs up under her. "but seriously, it's nice to just chill for a bit, you know? no plans, no pressure."
"yeah," harry agreed, looking at her again. "i get that. it's good to just be here, with you." he paused for a second, realizing how much he meant that. "just us."
millie smiled at him, and for a moment, everything felt easy, simple. no need to say anything more.
