CAROLINE BARNES is the gracious daughter of the infamous Asher Barnes and his wife, Deborah. The man was very well-known for his law practice along with his reputation of bribing to get his way, though no one could prove anything. Asher was top of his class when he attended Welton Academy, an all-boys preparatory school. Well, until now.

Caroline's father could not be more expressive about the fact that he was not pleased with his daughter. Both her and her mother knew that he wanted a son, an heir to the Barnes throne, not that they needed to assume anything. However, Deborah was not very helpful when Asher communicated his thoughts. 

The thing that upset Mr. Barnes the most was the fact that his child was unable to attend his alma mater. So, with the persuasion and manipulation of Asher, Mr. Nolan—the headmaster of Welton—finally agreed to allow Caroline to follow in her father's foot steps at the school. She would be the first girl to go to Welton, and she was less than prepared.

Being the only girl at an all-boys school was not an easy task. Caroline knew that she would have to deal with constant stares and wolf whistle whenever she entered a room or walked down the corridors. She did not know how she was going to get anything done.

Despite the irritating man that was her father, Caroline tried her best to keep an optimistic attitude and pleasant personality. She wanted so desperately to please him that that was all she cared about sometimes, and it makes her hard to be around during those moments.

But everything changed when she met Charles Dalton, the school 'bad boy' as many would refer to him. He brought out a new personality in her with his flirty commentary, smug smiles, and dramatic speeches. 

In her adventures with a secret organization known as the Dead Poets Society, she makes new acquaintances and discovers new things about herself along with finding someone in an alarming similar situation as her. As she tried to keep up with school and the Society, she finds herself distracted by the Dalton boy.
