ROAMING THROUGH THE DIMLY LIT HALLS.
Your hands were holding eachother, behind your back as you slowly swinged on your heel, turning from hall to hall, exploring the castle. Quietly glimpsing at the windows, which showed a beautiful view of the stars set in the sky.
It looked like a painting, a painting someone had perhaps made out of pure boredom. It seemed as if that person wasn't a professional, at all. But they were still able to create such an ELEGANT MESS .
Your body unconsciously came to a halt.
You ambled towards a considerably large window. It was slightly bigger than the others, perhaps because it was located at the end of the vestibule.
Resting your forearms at the border of the window frame, you stared at the lustrous scenery that was set before your eyes.
Enchanting eyes gazing into the night sky, as the moonlight collided with your.
An authentic smile writhed its' way up to your lips. You closed your eyes, being thankful of the peaceful night you had been gifted with.
After a few minutes of admiring the fresh gust of cool air that had swayed by, bringing a few petals along with itself, you moved yourself from your leaning position and curiously stared st the border of the large window.
It was BLANK .
It was blankly painted in a pale, dull yellow with a tint of white mixed along the way. The chromatic colour resembled the hue of sunflowers and ripe lemons.
The other windows, however, had beautiful floral patterns imprinted on their borders. It made you, yourself, feel a bit out of place. You were attracted to the window that was, probably, considering the most unattractive by majority of people.
Growing up, you had always been an odd child. Your parents never used this as an excuse for them to dislike any part of you, though. Whenever you asked for something, which you barely ever did, they never played attention to how much time, money or hardwork it would take for them to give you the specific item. Their hearts true goal was only to keep their one and only child and daughter SMILING .
An idea had popped up in your imaginative mind, considering the windows' blank border. But, before you could think of it deeper, a certain snowy owl came flying up to you and sat on top of your head, trying to get comfortable.
๐ธ๐๐ didn't want to even breathe to loud because of your animal-loving obsession.
A blob of messy brown hair started running towards you.
"Oh- (Y/N), you caught him! Brilliant!" , Harry said panting, his palms reaching his knees.
At this point the owl had flew off of your head, due to Harry's commotion.
" Are you alright? ", you asked, genuinely worried about how long he had been running after the owl.
"Oh- Yeah, don't worry about it! ", he said trying to reassure you. "I was just looking for Hedwig, he flew off when I was talking to Ron", he continued.
It has been around half an hour now, Harry had told you the story of his scar, parents and Lord Voldemort. You found it quite fascinating, honestly.
โ And that's how I came to Hogwarts! โ, the boy beamed at you.
You looked ahead of you, averting your gaze from him. Both of you were sitting in the border of the window you were leaning against, before.
โ Could I ask you something?โ, you asked a few seconds after he was done.
โSureโ, he replied, bringing his attention towards Hedwig, who was now sleeping next to him.
โ Do you regret it? โ, you asked out of the blue.
โRegret what?โ, he questioned, still petting Hedwig.
โTheir death?โ, this question caught him off guard. His gaze was now fixed on you, while you were still staring at the wall.
โWh-What do you mean?โ, he stammered, genuinely confused.
โ Do you regret their death? Ofcourse, you've been sad and lonely but it taught you something โ. โWhat are you talking about!?!? Ofcourse, I regret their death!! You're so cruel to even think something like that? โ, he bursted out in anger, getting up from his comfortable position and facing the female, staring daggers into her face.
The female, however, kept a calm face, and slowly yet steadily a soft smile tugged her lips.
โ If they hadn't died, you would've never known what a precious gift love is โ, you explained in the softest tone.
The slightly shorter male visibly flinched at your words.
โ Wh-What are you talking about? โ, the male had tensed up, his shoulders not leaving their current position, breathe held the very moment.
You gave him a soft, calm smile. A smile resembling to one of a mother who had just stopped her child from crying.
โ People who are given attention, are usually the ones that don't appreciate it. The don't appreciate the love they're being gifted with. People who haven't known love or affection, crave it. They don't know what it feels like to be wanted, but they'd give up everything they have, just for one person to love them wholeheartedly โ, the calm smile never leaving your lips.
A faint giggle escaped your lips.
โ But, I guess your case is different, huh? But, no matter the case, your parents are proud of you, I'm sure! โ
The boy had, somehow, relaxed due to the soft tone.
โ I think that it's only when someone says that they love you, that you're able to start loving yourself. I think that when someone accepts, that's when you start feeling like you can forgive yourself a little, and start to love yourself โ, you enthusiastically beamed at him, the smile being alot more ardent and zealous, this time.
โ If you ever get sad again, or if it's too painful, come here again โ, the smile on your face saddening a little.
โ I'll be here for you! โ, the tips of your lips slowly raising as a wholehearted grin inched its' way across to your face.
You bounced up from your seated position and held out the pinkie finger of your left hand.
The boy had relaxed alot due to the calm and soothing flavour of the voice.
โ Let's make a pinkie promise! Whenever any of us are sad or lonely, we'll come to each other! This'll be our secret meet-up-place! โ, you forwarded the pinkie finger towards him.
โ What's a pinkie promise? โ, he question.
โ It's a promise you can never break! It even has a vow of its' own! โ, you avidly explained.
โ What's the vow? And what'll happen if I break the promise? โ, still confused, he questioned.
โ The vow is โ Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye โ! And what'll happen if you break the promise...โ, placing your index finger on your chin, you went into deep thought.
โ I know! We won't be friends anymore! โ, you explained. A small pout plastered on your face
The boy was startled by the sudden statement. Breaking a friendship was one thing. But, from what he understood from this, was that she actually considered him a friend.
You took his hand and placed it next to your hand.
He slowly intertwine his pinkie finger with yours.
โ Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye โ, you both said in synchronisation.
โ S-So, are we really friends? โ, the boy questioned hesitantly.
You turned around so that your back was facing him.
Hedwig landed on the seat you were sitting on before. You slowly petted him.
Tilting your head towards the side, so that you could see his face, and vice versa.
โ OFCOURSE, WE ARE ! โ
A.N; Yes, I'm alive!
Stay safe! ๐
