Darryl Pov:
And so, I stood up, and grabbed my backpack, walking over to the window.
I looked outside first, to see where I would be.
All I could see were bushes, and flowers. With bees on them.
So that's what he was talking about.
I tried to see if the window would open.
*Click*
The window opened, me feeling a breeze immediately.
I pulled open the window fully, noticing the screen it had on. I simply pulled it off, it wasn't that hard. I turned back to the classroom, to make sure nobody was there. When I saw nothing, I turned back to the window, and plopped the screen outside, on the floor.
I threw my backpack outside first, then slid my leg out the window, and then my other, trying to be careful. The window was a couple feet high. I tripped at the last step of escaping through the window, causing me to fall outside.
A little oof escaped from my mouth as I hit the floor.
My face was buried in the grass, my body laying on the window screen I had previously put there.
I lifted my head up, and looked at the tall bush wall.
I sat up, and frantically looked around for my backpack, as I had dropped it after falling.
It was on the other side of the bush.
There was a little opening in the bush, that the backpack had slipped through.
The sun was going down, and I wanted to get home fast.
Just as I was about to grab my backpack I heard footsteps.
They sounded like they were coming from near me, outside even.
I peeked through the bushes, to where the footsteps were, and saw someone walking near the school.
I saw their face for a second, and realized that it was Zak.
Why was Zak here?
It only made me think more suspiciously of him.
I saw as he looked around. He was wearing a hoodie, which he normally doesn't do. And come to think of it, why was he? He's known for being stylish, but the past few days he had been wearing a dark gray hoodie, and some dark jeans.
Why?
Zak walked closer to the school, and I was just hoping that he wouldn't see my backpack.
He had the hood on, and kept looking around. He had a worried expression on his face. But why?
I watched as he walked in to the school.
He was gone.
I grabbed my backpack and stood up. I then closed the window, then put the screen back on, making it look untouched.
I then silently stepped through the bushes, trying to hide from Zak.
Why was I scared of Zak?
He was suspicious, that's why. I can't trust anyone, really. Anyone could be guilty of all these murders.
Even Zak.
After I stepped outside of the bushes, I started to walk away. I tried to stay out of the way of the school, and succeeded.
I turned back before I was fully out of sight, and thought about Zak. What was he doing? Why did he go to school at this time? Whyyyy?
My brain hurt, I was just thankful I was safe.
By the time I had made it home, it was already dark out.
I very quietly took off my shoes, placed down my backpack, and creeped upstairs to my room.
I walked in to my room and closed the door behind me.
I turned back to my room and immediately saw my mom sitting on my bed.
"Where were you?!" She yelled, standing up off my bed.
"I'm sorry, I-" I tried to explain, but was cut off from her running over to me and hugging me.
"I'm just glad you're okay, I'm not mad," she sighed, patting my back.
She pulled away, and looked at me.
"You should get some sleep, you look tired," she advised me.
"Okay, goodnight mom, love you."
"Love you too hun."
She left my room, and I heard her go in to her room.
I sighed, and laid down on my bed.
I played on my phone for a bit, and eventually fell asleep, without even changing. Guess I was tired.
I actually hadn't noticed I was asleep, until I woke up in the morning to my alarm.
"Ah-" I winced and covered my ears.
My alarm was so loud.
I opened my eyes to see it laying right next to my ear. I probably dropped it when I fell asleep.
It was Friday now, and I was ready to go to school. But I'm not gonna lie, I was scared to meet Zak. What if he was actually the killer? I would be heartbroken. I really liked Zak.
I had all these thoughts as I got dressed for school, and while heading off to my bus stop, I had even more.
I waited patiently for my bus, watching the other kids mess around.
The bus was late today, so that was annoying. But it's fine. Bus drivers must be working hard!
When I got to school I just ignored everyone, and went to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.
I was so hungry. I hadn't eaten at all yesterday, and breakfast was sure to help that. After all, it is the most important meal of the day!
As I was eating, Tommy and Ranboo came up to me. Tommy leaned on the table, and Ranboo stood next to him.
"Hey bitch!" Tommy yelled right in my ear.
"Ow, Tommy! And language!" I scoffed at him.
"Don't mind Tommy, he's annoying like that." Ranboo said in his calm voice. I appreciate that.
"What did you call me? You fucker!" Tommy started yelling at Ranboo.
But all I could think about was Tubbo.
I feel bad for Tommy and Ranboo, their best friend died, and they won't ever know.
Maybe I could ask Ranboo who Michael was.
"Hey Ranboo?" I looked up at him.
Tommy stopped yelling.
"Hm?" He looked back at me.
"Do you know who Michael is?" I asked him.
"Oh! That's me and Tubbos dog we own! Uh, how did you know about him?"
"He told me," I may or may not have accidentally said.
"You saw him?! Where is he!!??" Tommy yelled, sounding excited.
"Yeah, but he told me to tell you guys that he's sorry, but he had to move away," I frowned at them.
They both stood back, blank expressions on their faces.
"Actually?! Why didn't he say goodbye?" Tommy asked.
I shrugged, "I don't know, he said he'll miss you guys though," I told them.
Ranboo looked sad.
"Me and Michael will miss him," Ranboo sighed.
"I-" Tommy tried to talk, but stopped.
"I'm sorry, but he's not coming back," I told them.
"HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?!" Tommy suddenly screamed.
All the other kids in the cafeteria turned their heads to us.
"Shhh!" Ranboo shushed Tommy.
"Sorry," Tommy said, starting to cry.
Ranboo noticed and immediately hugged him.
"I'm sorry, I know you'll miss him, and I will too, but I bet he's living happily, don't you want that for him?" Ranboo tried to cheer him up.
But it only made me more sad.
They had no idea.
The kids in the cafeteria all turned their heads back to what they were doing previously.
"I guess, *sniff* that your right," Tommy wiped his tears.
I could see Ranboos eyes being glossy, like he was trying not to cry. I think he was trying to be strong for Tommy.
Honestly, this is probably how they would have acted if I had actually told them that he was dead.
But it's still heartbreaking.
The end- jkjk there's gonna be more chapters. Well I mean it is the end of this chapter- so I technically wasn't lying.
