I would just like to say something addressing Technoblade before this part starts.
Technoblade was loved by many, and he touched so many lives with his kindness.
He really didn't deserve to die at such a young age.
I'm really, really gonna miss him. And I'm sure everyone else is going to as well.

Let's all pay him our respects.

Technoblade never dies.

Darryl Pov:

George walked away as we heard footsteps coming back to look like he had never moved.

And me and the other kids hid in the shadows.

Do we really not even have a plan?

I knew what we were dealing with and it wasn't pretty.

So how did these kids expect to beat him?

Were they working on adrenaline or something?

"CHAAARRGGGEE!" A random kid I don't even know yelled, and started running towards where XD was standing after he walked back into the room.

A group of random kids ran out of the shadows with their swords and knives and whatnots facing towards XD.

I looked over at George and his face read of horror.

This was going to end well, was it?

XD didn't even turn around, he just reached out his hand and all of the kids froze against their will.

"George," XD breathed out. "Who are these people?"

George peeled his eyes away from the frozen still kids and looked up at XD. "I don't know, seriously-"

"DON'T lie to me George!" XD said, his voice growing higher.

"Okay! I'm sorry. They're kids from my school but that's all I know. I don't know any of them personally," George said honestly.

George shut his eyes, not wanting to look at XD.

I looked over at Alex who was just as shocked and worried as me.

But then the room filled with blood curdling screams. Multiple of them. All at once.

I turned back and saw all the kids that were frozen with stab wounds in them.

Did XD do that?

XD's hand was down, no longer holding the students in place. So it must have been him.

I felt myself start to tremble as one by one the kids who had attempted to get XD started falling to the ground, dead.

There were only around ten, but they all still had lives. And families. They didn't deserve to die down here.

"Don't let that happen again, George," XD said with anger, to which George responded with a tremble and a nod.

XD sighed and adjusted his mask that he was wearing.

This wasn't going to be easy.

.

(I apologize, but recently, blood has been a huge trigger for me, so I will not be writing the fight scene. I hope you understand<3)

.

The fight ended.

It wasn't as long as we thought it would be.

Many died, freshman through seniors.

And all their families have been wondering where their children went. I wish that I could tell them, I do. But it's not my place. And they probably wouldn't even believe me.

Me and all of my friends survived, luckily, probably because we all stayed together. Though a few of them did end up going to the hospital.

Actually, we wouldn't have won the fight without George's help.

We all sucked at fighting, and were all losing to XD. The only reason we won was because George snuck up behind him and stole the matching necklace that they both wore.

Apparently XD didn't die when George broke it, but instead went someplace else. The only reason he was here in this place was because of the contract George signed, so him breaking it not only let George free, but also sent Dream away. To where is unknown.

I have a few scars from the battle, but what matters is that I'm alive.

Zak is still gone, though. And I don't know if he'll ever come back, yet he was happy when I told him about the news.

My mom has also healed completely, she's no longer sick. And now she works at the school, since a lot of teachers left because they didn't feel safe in this town anymore.

I also still hang out with Tommy, Alex, Ranboo, Cara, Fundy and Wilbur.

Nick, sadly, took his life. He couldn't bear the guilt of killing his lover anymore, even though he was free from XD and his magic.

George and Dream are happy now, too. Dream now knows about everything and protects George from literally everyone. It's funny since George doesn't even need protecting.

Everyone seems pretty happy now.

I set my diary down on my nightstand and covered my eyes with my arm so the shining light from my ceiling would stop shining in my eyes.

"Everyone is happy, but me." I said out loud.

I heard a knocking on my bedroom door and sat up in bed.

"Honey? You left your phone downstairs and you keep getting called, you might wanna check it," my mom said from the other side of the door.

"Coming!" I yelled back, and got out of bed to open the door.

My mom had already walked away, so I walked downstairs to get my phone.

I heard it ringing as I got closer to the couch, and picked up my phone, annoyed.

"Hello?" I asked sternly as I answered the phone, not even checking who it was calling.

"No need to be so hostile!" I heard Zak say from the other line, along with his signature giggle.

"Zak! I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you who was calling, I thought it was Alex or something."

Me and Zak hadn't spoken on the phone in a while, I guess we both took a break from each other.

"I have some news!" Zak yelled into the phone excitingly.

"Zak! Too loud!" I said like I always did when Zak hurt my ears with his loudness.

"Sorry," he whispered.

"What is the news?" I asked.

"We're moving back."

I froze. I had been waiting to hear those words ever since the day Zak left. I spent every second of my days thinking about seeing him again to the point where my own thoughts became unbearable. Was this real? Am I dreaming?

"No, you're not dreaming," Zak said as though he had been reading my thoughts.

"This is amazing!" I yelled, "when?! What day are you coming back? I can't wait to see you!"

"Now who's the one who's too loud?" Zak laughed.

I blushed and pulled the phone away from my ear.

"Darryl?" Zak said from the phone, it was quiet though since I wasn't holding the phone to my ear.

I pulled the phone back and asked again, "when are you coming back?"

"You silly, I'm on my way back right now!"

"On a plane?"

"Yes, I don't like car rides, remember? They make me sick."

I smiled at the memory.

"I'll be there," I said.

"Huh?-"

I hung up the phone and quickly put my shoes on.

"Darryl? Where are you off to?" My mom asked as she walked down the stairs.

"Somewhere very important! Don't worry I'll be back before midnight!" I yelled back as I ran out the front door.

"Be careful!" I heard my mom say faintly as I slammed the front door behind me and started running in the direction of the airport.

The airport was around a 30 minute walk away, so I had to hurry.

.

.

.

I bent over and took giant breaths.

I had run for almost 30 minutes straight, and I was desperately trying to breathe.

I didn't even really know what I was doing at the airport, Zak's family had to have been worn out due to the long fight. So seeing a teenage boy run up to their son out of nowhere might be confusing.

I walked into the airport, and everyone stared at me. I mean, I was covered in sweat.

I just waved at the people giving me questioning looks and continued walking around the airport, looking for Zak.

After 5 minutes of walking, I was disappointed to find Zak nowhere. Maybe I was too early.

"What ya doing?" I heard a voice say from behind me.

I turned around and saw Karl.

Him and the other spirits have been visiting me recently just to chat since all they could do was float in a nothing less void and talk to other spirits.

"I was supposed to see Zak." I sat down on a chair and sighed. "But I can't find him anywhere."

Karl frowned and sat next to me.

"Well maybe Zak's thinking the same exact thing right now," Karl said with a smile.

I knew that was supposed to cheer me up, but it didn't.

"Maybe," I said as I put my face into my hands. "How is Nick?" I asked.

Ever since Nick had taken his life, Karl would update me on how he was doing in the afterlife. He never wanted to see me face to face. But Karl was happy to talk about Nick.

"He's good! He still apologizes for everything though."

I looked up at Karl. "He knows you forgive him though, right?"

He sighed, "of course he does! He has to... I mean, how could he not realize how much I love him?" Karl asked nobody in particular.

I hummed in response and closed my eyes.

"Well, I hope that Zak knows how much you love him."

I opened my eyes to look at Karl, but he was gone.

"Me too," I whispered to myself.

.

.

.

I kept walking around the airport, but there was still no sign of Zak anywhere. I was starting to think I had missed him.

I walked back to the luggage area, the place I had been to 3 times while looking for Zak.

I just stood there and watched the luggage move on the conveyor belt, getting picked up by peoples hands.

I looked at the colors of all the luggage bags.

A pink one, a red one, two black ones, a yellow one, a navy blue one, another black one... Then I saw a teal one. And it reminded me of Zak. It's his favorite color after all.

I watched as a light milk chocolate colored hand picked up the luggage, and placed it on the ground.

Familiar...

"Darryl?"

I jolted, and slowly moved my eyes up to look at the face of the person holding the suitcase.

"Zak?"

Zak's expression quickly went from shocked and confused to soft and happy in a second.

"Darryl!" Zak repeated, this time with happiness coating his voice.

"Zak!" I yelled back.

Zak let go of his suitcase and immediately started bolting towards me.

I opened my arms and prepared for the impact, which came immediately. Zak hugged me tighter than he ever had before, and I couldn't help but laugh out of pure happiness.

I picked him up and swung him in circles as we both giggled.

"I missed you so much!" Zak said as we stopped spinning.

"I missed you more!" I said back to him.

He punched me in the shoulder and hugged me again.

I hugged Zak back and sighed out of relief. "Don't ever leave me again," I told him. Zak responded with an 'I won't.'

We stood there hugging as people walked past us.

Everything, all of the waiting, all of the sorrow and all of the pain I had gone through. It was all worth it. It was all worth seeing Zak again.

"Where's your family?" I asked, looking around.

"My sister lost her phone, they went to go talk to the workers to see if they had it. I told them I would get their luggage for them," Zak replied.

"Good."

"Why?" Zak asked.

"Because then they won't see me do this."

I leaned forward but stopped when I was an inch away from Zak's face.

"Whhat are you doing?" Zak asked with a giggle.

"I was going to kiss you and look really cool, but I wanted to ask you for your permission before I did. Is it okay if I kiss you?" I responded, blushing.

Zak grabbed my hands and situated them on his waist before wrapping his arms around my neck and giggling. "You're such an adorable idiot. Of course you can kiss me."

We smiled at each other and finally, after waiting for far too long, kissed.

We have told each other countless times that we had liked each other. Yet we had never talked about dating, or have ever kissed. So this felt needed.

Our lips moved together in harmony as we both closed our eyes and let the world around us disappear.

Zak's lips tasted like everything I had ever dreamed of. Of hope, courage, bravery and most importantly, love.

I had loved Zak for so long.

And by the way our lips fit together perfectly, I could tell he had loved me for just as long.

We both hesitantly pulled away from the kiss and stared into each other's eyes. His beautiful dark brown eyes never failed to amaze me.

Breaking the silence, Zak asked, "what happened here?" He pulled away his right hand from my neck and placed it gently on my left ear. "You have a scar," he whispered with concern.

I took his hand off my ear and held it with my own. "It was one of the results of the fight. But it was so worth it to see you again," I whispered back.

"I wish I could have fought with you, side by side. We would look like the most awesome highschool couple," Zak said while giggling and lowering his head.

"We're a couple?"

Zak froze, he seemed as if the word 'couple' had rolled off his tongue without him even realizing it.

"...Do you want to be?" Zak asked me, looking back up and making eye contact once more.

"I would love to."

"Then it's settled." Zak smiled and kissed me on the cheek before turning around and walking back towards his suitcase.

I smiled the biggest I ever had before. Of course, that was before realizing that there were many people staring at me.

I nervously chuckled. I had completely forgotten that we were in an airport.

.

.

.

Me and Zak walked over to where his family was as we had all of their luggage in our hands dragging along behind us.

"You go to college in four months Samira, four months! And you still lose your phone like this? You're lucky we fou-"

"Hi mom," Zak said, cutting off the scolding his sister was getting from their mother.

"Oh! Hello sweetie, did you bring all the bags?" His mom asked in a sweet voice.

"Yup! He helped me though," Zak said, gesturing to me.

His mom looked at me and smiled. "Darryl, right? Thank you for the help!"

I told Zak's mom 'you're welcome' and we all left the airport.

.

.

.

A week later, me and Zak are laying down on the floor of my bedroom, working on homework.

"It feels so good to be back," Zak sighed.

I looked up and smiled at him.

"Let's go somewhere, yeah?" I asked.

Zak looked up at me with a shocked expression. "Darryl Novescotch? Skipping homework? Who are you and what have you done with my boyfriend?" Zak giggled.

-

Me and Zak walked along the forest route I had taken him when we first became friends.

"I remember this place!" Zak cooed.

I smiled at him. He was always so loud and upbeat.

"C'mon!" I grabbed his hand and started running through the woods, him right behind me.

-

We sat down at the top of the mound we had gone to forever ago.

We laid down, never letting go of each other's hand.

We watched as the sun set, and as the sky erupted into shades of orange, yellow, red and a little smidge of purple. All colliding as one.

I turned my head towards Zak, who was staring at the sky with amazement. His eyes were wide and shimmering brighter than the sky.

He finally turned to me.

"What's with the look?" He asked.

"I'm just so happy," I said, a tear falling down my face.

"I am too."

We smiled at each other.

"We deserve it," I said. I leaned towards him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

"We deserve it," Zak repeated as a way to agree with my statement.

We fell asleep there that night. The same way we had a year ago, when the troubles in this world didn't seem that bad. When all we had to worry about was our reputation, and our friendships.

We had gone through so much together. We had gotten through the bad, and we were finally living through the good.

Life was good.

And we deserved it.

END.
