Darryl:

"Hey.. Tommy. Didn't expect to see you here!" I said.

"Yeah, I didn't expect to see you either, big man!!"

I stared at Tommy who was sitting on a swing at the park, barely swinging, all by himself.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

Tommy smiled, "I am waiting for the gang! We tried to invite you and Zak but neither of you answered. We just assumed you two were using the crafting table," he said.

"Tommy, you know I don't know what that means," I said while walking over and sitting down on the bench next to the swings.

"So who exactly are you waiting for?" I asked Tommy.

"Oh, I'm waiting for big man Wilbur, big man Ranboo, big Q-"

"Who is big Q?" I asked.

"It's Alex, I think it suits him."

I nodded and let him continue.

"..And big man Fundy!"

The second I heard that name I choked on my own spit.

"Wait.. Fundy is coming here?" I asked in a shocked tone.

"Yeah! Where is Zak by the way, is he good?" Tommy asked obliviously.

"Yeah- no- well, I gotta go- sorry Tommy," I said while standing up.

But just when I was about to leave I heard voices coming from behind me.

"Yo, Darryl! Is that you man?!" Alex asked.

I turned to see Ranboo and Alex walking towards me.

"Yeah, hahah! Didn't expect to see me here, huh?" I asked nervously.

"No! We thought you and Zak were.. y'know!" Alex said giggling.

"No, Alex, I don't know."

I sighed, but then realized that Fundy wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"...Wait, where is Fundy?" I asked both Ranboo and Alex.

"Right here."

I turned around to see Fundy sitting on the playground, one foot up and the other hanging down.

"O-oh well, I have to go guys, sorry," I said while trying to walk away.

"What's the matter, Darryl?" Fundy asked, smiling. "Gotta go take care of Zak's reopened little leg?"

I stopped in my tracks.

"....How did you-"

"Alright, well! Goodbye Darryl! We'll see you at school!" Wilbur said, appearing out of nowhere.

"Y-yeah! I have to go... go home!" I said weirdly.

And as I walked away I turned around to see Fundy staring at me.

I really, really need to get that man in jail.

Zak Pov:

I laid in my bed and watched my mother as she, again, packed my bag for me.

"Mom, can we stay a little later since my leg hurts?" I asked with a little bit of hope.

"Nope! It's even more of the reason that we should leave. My baby just keeps on getting hurt, and I will NOT sit by and let it happen!!" My mother said in that one annoying tone.

"Fine," I said as I aggressively turned over. And that's when I saw my phone light up. It said the one person's name that I cared for at this moment. Darryl.

I picked up my phone and read the text that he had sent me.

It was an urgent text that said something along the lines of Fundy?

Eh I don't know. I think I'm tired... my vision is a bit fuzzy looking..

Then my eyes closed heavily. And the last thing that I heard was my mother asking if I was okay.

Am I?

I really don't know.

Darryl Pov:

Why isn't Zak responding?!

It says that he read the message.

Maybe he's busy.. yeah! He's probably busy! That's it!

Or... did something bad happen?

I was now at home, away from the park and more importantly away from Fundy.

I texted Zak saying that Fundy was still around and that he wasn't seemingly scared of us.

But here I am waiting for a response from Zak that doesn't seem to be coming.

Please Zak, don't make me come over there.

.

Aaand now I'm walking to Zak's house.

I worry too much.

Zak's mother opened the door when I knocked, and I noticed that she looked a little stressed, worried, maybe?

"Is everything okay?" I asked.

She nodded hesitantly and asked why I was here.

I told her that Zak wasn't responding to my texts even though he read it and that I was just coming to check if he was okay.

Zak's mother nodded again and then told me that Zak wasn't doing too well.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked.

"I think he has a fever," she said uncertainly.

"Well can I see him?" I asked.

"You're the boy who always helps him, right? The one we invited over for dinner?"

I nodded and she agreed to let me see him.

"I trust you with my son," she said as she walked me to his room.

She opened the door quietly and that's when I saw Zak. He was asleep and he looked uncomfortable.

When I moved closer I saw that he was sweating and shaking a bit.

"Are you sure this is a fever?" I asked Zak's mother.

"No. I'm not unfortunately."

I sighed and looked back over to the sleeping Zak.

It wasn't as peaceful as I remembered.

"Should we have taken him out of the hospital?" I asked his mother though I cringed at the 'we' as if I was a part of it.

"I'm not so sure. Maybe we should take him back, he doesn't look good at all."

I nodded and then noticed the phone in his hand.

It was opened to my text message, and I saw hearts around my name which made me feel funny. But I decided to turn off his phone for him and put it away.

"Could this be an infection?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Since he just got his leg stitched, it is possible that he could get an infection," I explained.

Me and Zak's mother took care of Zak for about an hour and we talked about stuff that could have caused him to be sick.

At one point my eyes glanced over to Zak's closet and saw a suitcase. The suitcase that would take him away from me.

"So when are you guys leaving?" I asked.

Zak's mom looked confused for a second before responding "we hope this Saturday, why?"

"No reason," I said.

Suddenly her eyes widened. "Wait, hold on. You're Zak's friend, aren't you?!" She asked with excitement.

"Huh?!" I asked.

She was about to speak again when we heard Zak talk in his sleep.

"...Darryl?" He said.

I felt my face turn red.

Then Zak opened his eyes.
