Christmas.

In Nellies opinion, it was the best time of the year. The songs, the decorations, being together with the ones you love, the feeling just is immaculate. As soon as thanksgiving is over, Nellie goes into full Christmas mode. Matteo finds it weird, but most of the time she ignores him. The rest of the times they would go in a little back and forth argument which would just result in then making out soon afterwards.

Everyone was in the choir room helping to decorate for Christmas, which Nellie was having way too much fun with.

"Love, how did you manage to get glitter and ribbons in your hair?" Matteo laughed, grabbing a few strands of Nellies hair and ripping the glitter and ribbons out.

"Who cares? It brings my hair out even more. You should try some." Nellie replied, getting up on her tippy toes so she could reach Matteo's 6'3 height. She then placed a ribbon in his hair, grinning soon afterwards. Jay walked by them and snickered at how ridiculous Nellie looked. She huffed before sticking her foot out and tripping Jay making him crash to the ground. Now it was Matteo's turn to laugh.

"I think I look pretty fancy. Got good taste, babe." Matteo complimented. Nellie smiled brightly at that and grabbed his neck to pull him down for a kiss. Nellie loved everytime her and Matteo kissed. It got more and more magical each time. His lips were so soft and the way his hands rested on her waist sent butterflies throughout her stomach.

"Gross, if this is what I'm gonna be seeing all week I might as well gouge my eyes out." Santana scoffed, shaking her head at the couple. However she couldn't help but admit that they made an adorable pair. It's just that got so gross and sappy during holiday times.

"Shut up." The duo said at the same time. After helping to decorate the choir room, Nellie got the bright idea to carry a mistletoe around and hang it over couples.

Jay and Mercedes.

Perfect.

The two were talking by Jays locker, his arm wrapped around her shoulder.

"Boom! Kiss. Now." Matteo ordered once Nellie held the mistletoe over their heads.

Jay scoffed. "Absolutely not. Our kisses are special, and meant to be handled inβ€”"

Mercedes rolled her eyes and pecked Jay on the lips, making Jay blush so red Nellie thought his face was going to catch on fire. It wasn't until Matteo placed the mistletoe over her head that she started to blush like crazy as well.

"You weren't expecting this were you?" He questioned, raising a brow. Mercedes squealed and clapped her hands together while Jay just raised a brow and nodded. Nellie pushed Matteo against the wall and kissed him deeply, running her hands up and down their arms. Jay and Mercedes' face went from one of awe to disgust as they shook their heads and walked off, hand in hand.

The next day Nellie couldn't be in a better mood. The choir room was decorated, she passed all her tests, and her new winter boots finally came in the mail.

"Hey everyone. My man Rory Flanagan here wants to say a few." Finn spoke, walking in the choir room beside Roy.

"Thanks guys. So guys, my mummy was going to come visit for the holidays, but plane tickets are expensive, so it's my first Christmas without any family. I'd like to cheer myself up by dedicating this song to them, and to the king." Rory explained. Nellies facial expression softened and she frowned. She couldn't even imagine what it would be like, not to spend Christmas with Puck. He always made it entertaining, despite the fact he would always force his brain into thinking he didn't like it. They would watch movies, bake, hell one year Puck even dressed up in Christmas pajamas.

"Why doesn't this kid have more solos?" Nellie asked once the song was over making Matteo snicker.

"Gosh, that song was so depressing. I may actually be dead right now." Santana added.

"I-I think what Santana means is although that-that song was mournfully beautiful, now that the Glee Club is back together, I think we should focus on the more joyous....and the pageant aspect of this holiday season!" Rachel said.

"Dude just said he has no one to spend Christmas with. What's joyous about that?" Jay asked raising a brow, Nellie pointing a finger and nodding in agreement.

"Rachel's right. Last Christmas was super sad. Kurt was at another school, Coach Sylvester crashed everything, and Artie got a pair of magic legs that broke the next day. We were the island of misfit toys." Tina mentioned agreeing with Rachel.

"Yeah but like, let's talk about the good aspects. Like me joining glee." Jay pointed a finger at himself.

"You're welcome." Matteo added.

"Whatever. This yearβ€”" Nellie was about to speak before Mr.Shue walked in and cut her off.

"This her ifs a whole new sprit of mistletoe. Guess who's not getting coal in their stockings for once. Rory, have a seat," He instructed. "I just got off the phone with Don Borowski, the local station manager at Limas PBS affiliate. Turns out that their annual broadcast of the Yule log burning has been cancelled."

"What? No!" Nellie whined, throwing her head back.

"The hell?" Puck added.

"They can't afford the licensing fees anymore. But thank you, Scrooges who own that copyright, because......Don came to sectionals, he loved what we did, and he is offering usβ€”-"

"A Christmas special featuring all of us? Ok, please tell me you said yes." Rachel interrupted.

"Not only did I say yes, but when Don said that they were looking for a director of the special. I nominated you Artie."

"Artie!" Nellie cheered, a wide grin on his face. Artie however argued that he swore that he would never do television and that he was gonna have to take it into deep consideration. Nellie was about to speak before the bell rang, which she groaned loudly at. She had been getting interrupted all day and it was getting annoyed.

HELP!

Jay had been texting Matteo and Nellie like crazy during glee club, and it got to the point where Nellie had to psychically get up and tell him to stop texting them.

Right now Nellie was on the verge of falling asleep because of Rachel and Blaine singing.

[A Very Merry Christmas-Rachel Berry and Blaine Anderson]

" I bow to you. Gold. Gold! That's what I'm talking about! I see Cheerios behind you, kind of a dancing Santa thing." Artie began to praise.

"Just as long as they don't upstage us." Rachel replied making Nellie roll her eyes and rest her head on Matteo's shoulder.

"Look at you do gooders. So hard at work!" Sue had walked inside the room, making Nellie furrow her brows. The only time she was in there was to wreak havoc.

"Coach Sylvester, we're in the middle of a rehearsal." Artie stated.

"I think it's great you're working so hard on your performed. I'll tell you what. Everyone at the homeless shelter is really looking forward to the show. I just wanted to confirm with you Artie, that we're on for Friday night." Sue explained.

"Oh, Friday. It's a no-can-do on Friday. We're taping our Christmas special for the Lima PBS."

"You told me you were in." Sue argued.

"This is a huge opportunity for us. Can't we just do it another night?"

"Homeless will be homeless for a while. That's sort of the problem."

Nellie didn't even know what to say at the moment. The way her friends were being so selfish, putting a tv show over homeless people who were counting on them. It made her furious. Furious to the point where she wanted to pull a Rachel and storm out of the room. But she managed to pull it together and listen to the rest of the conversation.

"I promised them. You don't wanna disappoint these kids!" Sue said.

"Hmm like your behavior has disappointed us for years? Last Christmas, you cut down our tree, you stole our presents, and you made Becky dress up as a reindeer."

"That's not the same thing. Sue has nothing to do with the homeless." Matteo exclaimed, jumping into the conversation.

Artie turned towards him. "Last I checked Matteo, this doesn't concern you. So if you could take a step back, that would be appreciated."

"You four eyed twerp." Matteo grumbled under his breath. Sue eventually left the choir room, and Nellie let out a deep sigh and started to pack her stuff.

"Nellie, where're you going?" Artie questioned, his brows furrowing.

"You really think I'm gonna be in the show after what all of you just did? I wanna be a star too, but even I have a decency to help out people who need us." Nellie snapped. She slung her back over her shoulder and walked out of the choir room, Matteo following afterwards.

                         *********
"I feel like my legs are about to fall off." Nellie huffed, rubbing her hands together and blowing into them. For the homeless kids, Nellie thought it would be a good idea to dress up as one of Santa's elf's and hand away gifts, which was just her old clothes along with Pucks. Matteo refused to dress up, so he was just working in the kitchen with Quinn and Sam. Nellie was a little shocked that Quinn wanted to help out, but the fact that she did meant a lot to her.

"The kids are gonna love it. That's all that matters." Matteo replied.

Nellie raised a brow. "You're only saying that cause I'm wearing a dress."

"What? No!"

Nellie giggled and pushed Matteo back slightly before walking inside the shelter.

"Hoo hoo hoo! Merry Christmas!"

Immediately the kids surrounded her, staring at Nellie with awe and joy.

"Are you Santa's elf?" A girl squealed, looking up at Nellie.

"Yeah. I am. Santa sent me here to see all of you good boys and girls." Nellie explained. The kids cheered loudly once Matteo wheeled in a cart full of poorly wrapped presents. But the kids didn't care. They saw the bright wrapping paper and went wild. Matteo handed them out one by one, each kid politely saying thank you afterwards.

"You're too pretty for an elf." One little boy commented.

"Aw, thank you so much." Nellie kissed the boy on the forehead before Matteo handed him his gift. Nellie now sat in the corner singing the kids Christmas carols.

"I know we're late, but we're we're all hoping there's still time to help." Artie spoke once he was wheeled inside with the rest of the glee club. Nellie raised a brow and stood up, Jay walking over to her.

"Done being a moron?" She questioned.

"Yeah." Was all he said before hugging her.

"Hey, Nel, would it be weird if I made myself a plate?" Puck asked.

"Yeah. We're running low anyways. Only way I'm distracting these kids from the hunger is dressing up like I'm a damn elf and singing songs. Also, if there's barley any clothes under your bed it's because I gave them to the homeless kids. You're welcome." Nellie patted his shoulder and walked over to Matteo.

The two walked over to stand beside the entire glee club as they performed their song.

"I'm so tired, I think I may just collapse." Nellie mumbled, falling onto her bed in her Christmas pajamas.

"Mhm." Matteo nodded, exhausted from all the singing and work he had done all day as well. The two were in a comfortable silence, before Matteo reached under Nellies bed.

"Merry Christmas." He grinned, blushing. Nellies eyes widened and she took the box out of his hands. It was small, not that she cared. It was the thought that counted. When she opened it, she was met with a small necklace with her name in cursive.

"I didn't know if these were what girls liked anymore, but I pretty much saved up my money all summer just to buy it. If you don't like it I can stillβ€”"

Nellie cut him off by kissing him passionately. Matteo could've just given her a dollar and she would see it as the best gift in the world.

They both loved each other so much.

"I got you a gift too." Nellie spoke.

"Oh? You did?"

"Yeah. Two things," Nellie walked over to her closet and pulled out a scrap book. "This is all of our memories together. From when we first met, to our first date, to every holiday we spent together. Thank god JBI and my Mom love their photos."

"I love it, babe. Thank you. But that's the second gift."

Nellie grinned before pulling down her shirt which revealed a red lace bra. Matteo's favorite color. His jaw dropped and it wasn't long before Nellie was being tackled on the bed and kissed passionately.

"Best Christmas ever." Matteo mumbled to himself.
