It was Christmas time for the glee club which was her favorite time of the year. The tree, the presents, the whole vibe in general made Nellie happy as could be. The only problem was Matteo had never had a good Christmas either. He spent it locked up in his room or unconscious from a beating. So it was Nellies mission to make sure he had the best Christmas possible. Starting with making him decorate the tree with the glee club.
[When Christmas Day Is Here-The New Directions]
Matteo stared at the the tree with awe and Nellie chuckled standing next to him. "It's amazing isn't it?" She asked and Matteo nodded. "It's beautiful. I haven't seen a tree like this in years." He gaped. They were both wrapping presents together and handing them to sam and Quinn. Mr.Shue walked inside the choir room and they all stopped singing.
"Hey guys, what's all this?" He asked. "Oh, we're trying to get into the Christmas spirit Mr.Shue. Christmas is totally my favorite holiday. And check out this awesome tree! I found it on the side of the road. It must've fell off some guys car."
"And the ornaments?"
"The guy who lives next door finally killed off his elderly mother. And when they carted him off, they left the house like wide open so.....I think she was a holiday hoarder." Nellie says.
"Uh.....a-and the presents?"
"Teo and I lifted them from a display at the mall. But don't worry their empty." Matteo nodded at the statement. "Guys, look. I appreciate the effort but this isn't what Christmas is supposed to be like." Nellie shakes her head. "For us it is. This tree is like a mascot for glee club. We won Sectionals two years in a row, and according to everyone at this school, we still suck." Mercedes says and they all nod in agreement. They went to regionals and sectionals and the school still didn't appreciate them. It made no sense.
Flashback:
Tina, Mike, Matteo, Mercedes and Nellie were walking down the hall when five football players walked down the hall with slushees in their hand. Matteo's eyes widened before he quickly pushed Nellie into the lockers so she wouldn't get slusheed, leaving Matteo to take the fall.
"I'm pretty sure they added food coloring to real slush in the parking lot." Mike mentions. "You can eat that you know." Matteo scrunched up his nose in disgust.
"No, no I am not gonna let you guys throw yourselves a pity party. Look, I'm the first one to say that things haven't turned out exactly how I would have liked them to this year, but Christmas is all about being grateful for the things that did."
"I thought that was thanksgiving." Nellie snickered at her older brothers comment. "And this year, Glee Club is going to lend a hand to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program right here in Lima."
"How are we going to do that?"
"The only way we know howβby singing about it. We're going to go to classroom to classroom, caroling, to raise money for McKinney Vento." Matteo let out a dry laugh. "You don't happen to mean classrooms in this school right? With like, students in them? I just got a slushee out of my eye!" He exclaimed.
"Well, if there are no students in them, there will be no one to put money in the collection box while we sing."
"We're gonna be killed." Quinn commented. "No guys, it's Christmas a time for miracles. We got to try this."
"Finns right. So, let's start rehearing. This year, glee clubs going full Santa."

The next day Nellie stood next to Matteo as they were caroling for kids in the classroom. They both looked like they didn't want to be there.
[We Need A Little Christmas Day-The New Directions]
"You suck!"
"Who goes caroling with a band!"
"I'd seriously rather be learning!"
"Will you shut up and let them preform?" Jay Parker, a sophomore football player asked with a roll of their eyes.
"You're making me hate Christmas!" A teacher threw a shoe at Nellie and Matteo's jaw dropped. "Why don't you throw a shoe at me!" He yelled getting ready to charge at him. They all left the choir room as they were yelled at.
Back in the choir room, Nellie was taking off her jacket and sighing in defeat. She knew this was a bad idea. "I can't believe that that teacher let those students speak to us like that." Rachel said in disbelief and Matteo nodded. "You ok babe?" He asked looking at Nellie who was rubbing her cheek.
"I guess we're done caroling." Tina sighed. "No, we're not guys. We can't let what just happened ruin our Christmas spirit. Mr.Shue got us this beautiful tree to inspire us. We're gonna practice now, and gear up for round two tomorrow."
"Pretty soon, no one will bully us. Santa Claus can do anything and this year, I asked for the glee club to stop being picked on." Nellie gave Brittany a confused look. There was no way she still believed in Santa Claus. Then again, it was Brittany. Matteo was about to say something before Nellie shook her head and pulled him back.
"She's kidding right?" Lauren questioned munching on popcorn. "Guys, this is serious. Listen up," The glee club all gathered around in a circle. "Brittany still believes in Santa Claus." Nellie glanced at Brittany before glancing at Artie.
"You haven't told her the truth?" She hissed. "You cannot be serious." Mercedes said. "Last week Brittany beloved a comb had magic powers. This is kind of a pattern."
"I'm sorry?" Matteo asked as if Sam wasn't being serious.
"She's gonna find out sooner or later."
"Ok, someone needs to break the news to her." Everyone looked at Puck and he shook his head. "Uh-Uh. Don't look at me. I mean, I'm cruel and all, but that's just hardcore." Nellie bit her nail and everyone glanced at Matteo next.
"Oh hell no." He said. "Right! That's my point! Hear me out. Remember when you were a kid, how excited you would get when you would think about Santa Claus? How awesome it was? Christmas was the highlight of the year. Why wouldn't you want to keep someone's world magical for a little while longer?"
"How?"
"I've got it all figured out."
After glee club Matteo and Nellie were walking while Matteo was drinking hot chocolate. "I haven't had this in years. God it's so good!" He took another sip and wiped his mouth. Nellie was looking at Jay Parker who was placing his books inside his locker. An idea popped into her mind.
"I have an idea. What if......we get him to join glee club?" Matteo looked to see Jay and looked back towards Nellie.
"Nel, what if he says no? Then we have to talk to Mr.Shue, and get everyone adjusted, it's just a lot of work." She shook her head. "Oh please. The same thing happened when you joined and I still worked it out. Plus, we're down a male voice since Kurt transferred. We can do this," She held out her hand. "Together." Matteo nodded and they walked towards Jay.
"Hey, Jay. Remember me? I'm Matteo." Jay closed his locker. "Oh snap. Yeah, I remember you guys. What's up?"
"Listen Jay, I know this is so random and you're probably gonna say no but......how would you feel about glee club?" Jays eyes lit up and he smiled.
"I mean, I was considering it since the only person I've ever sang to was my cat, and your club did look really cool. So I guess I'll join. It's just I don't wanna be a bother or anything, so I-"
"No, no. We're a very tight knit and supportive family. Come on. First we gotta talk to Mr.Shue, since he's the teacher. He should be in the teachers lounge." Jay nodded and they set off towards the teachers lounge where sure enough Mr.Shue was.
"Mr.Shue. We need to talk." Matteo stated walking inside the teachers lounge ignoring the dirty looks from the teachers.
"Matteo, this is a teachers lounge. Which means no kids are allowed in here. What's even going on anyways? Who's this?" Mr.Shue gestured towards Jay.
"Who's this? Who's this? This could potentially be a new member. You're welcome by the way." Nellie shrugged.
"New member? You recruited him?" Jay nodded. "Yeah Mr.Shue. I'm Jay Parker, the one who handed in your essay five weeks late. I'd like to join, but it's completely fine if you say no." Mr.Shue shook his head and stood up.
"No, no Jay. We're always open for new members. I'm completely fine with this."
"Good! So now all you have to do is audition in front of our teammates and you'll be all set!" Matteo smirked as they all walked outside the teachers lounge.
Matteo texted the glee kids to meet him in the choir room and by the time they got there they were all gathered inside.
"Teo what's going on?" Finn asks in confusion. Matteo crosses his arms over his chest and smirks. "Well, Nellie and I just scored us a new member. Hold your applause please."
"New member?"
"Whats he talking about?"
"How did that happen?"
"Nellie, is he being serious?" Rachel asks and Nellie nodded. "Jay, come in." Jay walked inside and everyone's eyes widened.
"Hold up. You got Jay Parker to join?" Tina gasps. Matteo furrowed his brows. "Yeah, so?"
"So, he's pretty much the best wide receiver on our team! Why would he wanna be in glee club?"
"I heard about what Karofsky did to your friend Kurt. And I wanted to change myself up, try new things. So I'm in glee club. Will my popularity suffer at the hands of my choice? Sure. Do I have any regrets though? No." Nellie smirked.
"There you go. Ok, traditionally the only way to get in is by singing a song. You have a song at the top of your mind?" Jay nodded and Nellie led him over to the band. The band then started playing the song and Nellie smirked.
[Ridin' Solo-Jay Parker]
"Dude, your voice is like an angel! Why didn't you join sooner?" Puck exclaimed as everyone was clapping from for performance Jay just put on.
"Uh.....I don't know really. So, am I in?"
"Are you kidding? Hell yeah you're in!" Matteo yells. Rachel stands up. "Jay, your voice is really good, but will it really help us win Regionals?"
"Seriously Rachel? Did you just not hear his voice! We need him!" Jay just blushes. "Yeah Rachel, don't be like that. Welcome to glee club Jay." Finn says and Jay smirks.

So it took a while, but Jay was finally caught up with the situation with Brittany and what to expect during glee club. He also became very close with Matteo and Nellie and they were starting to form a trio.
"Ok, so all we have to do is make Brittany think we believe in Santa Claus?" Jay questioned and Artie nods. "Pretty much." Jay glanced at Santa and walked in between Nellie and Matteo.
"You think this is gonna work?"
"It has to, or else I owe both of you ten bucks." Matteo shudders. Brittany was now talking with an elf. "Can I be honest? I don't understand the difference between an elf and a slave." Jays jaw dropped at the comment. Matteo patted his back.
"You get used to it."
"I'm not sitting on that guys lap. Santa's laps are always really warm, and it's creepy."
"She's right. Do we really have to do this? All we gotta do is tell Brit we believe in Santa and this can all be over." Jay adds. "We all have to sit on Santa's lap. If Brittany sees that we all still believe, it will make her strong enough to withstand all the Santa Naysayers in the world."
"Which is everyone over the age of six." Sam commented.
"I'm pretty sure this isn't going to work. That doesn't even look like Santa."
"It has to! I refuse to give up my money!" Matteo hissed and Jay and Nellie smirk, high fiving. "Trust me, all Brittanys gonna see is the suit. She wants to believe in him. Mercedes, get up there."
"Go Mercedes go Mercedes go!"
"I've been a very good girl Santa. I want a pony, and a doll that laughs and cries and....one of us smells like McDonald's."
"I would like Puckerman to love me. He's a fox. I would also like sweet potato fries."
"I want bling. I candy be anymore specific than that. Ok, hold up. Please tell me that is a doll of Certs in your pocket."
"I want a girlfriend. My last one cheated on me and said I'm apparently to dark for her liking. That is so F'd up right?"
"Jay!"
"What? You wanted me to talk to Santa, I'm talking to Santa!"
"Do you have anything for stretch marks?"
"I want a new comb. Last week I broke my old one trying to detangle my hair." Matteo says.
"Chapstick. Lots of chapstick."
"I want Channing Tatum to stop being in stuff."
"I want my boyfriend to have a good Christmas. Also, aside from that I would like a pair of jeans. I also wouldn't mind a new makeup pallet."
Finally it was Brittanys turn and Nellie couldn't be anymore relived that they would finally be able to get out of here after this.
"Ho! Ho! Ho! What's your name?"
"Brittany. You've gotten really tan."
"That's because at the North Pole there's a hole in the ozone."
"You're amazing. I know you're really busy, so I only want one thing for Christmas. Do you see my boyfriend over there? For Christmas, I want him to be able to walk. You can do that, cant you Santa?"
Everyone shook their heads for him to say no, yet Santa nodded his head at Brittany.
"Sure......I'm on it." Jay and Matteo groaned in sync and Nellie threw her head back.
"Thank you so much, Santa."
"Now we're screwed." Artie deadpanned. Nellie nodded. "What the hell do we do now?" Matteo asked.

Nellie exited the nurses office after taking her meds while Jay and Matteo were waiting for her. Jays hair was wet and he was rubbing something out of his eyes. He got slusheed.
"Now I know how you guys feel. Are your eyes supposed to feel this irritated?" Jay asked as he was rubbing his eyes. "Quit rubbing your eyes dude. It makes it worse. I did that one time and it looked like I got pink eye. No one wanted to go near me." Nellie nodded and handed him a tissue.
"So, what do you take meds for? Sorry if I'm being nosy." Nellie shook her head and laughed. "I have narcolepsy. It has to do with my brain and sleep, blah blah blah. It's not serious, all I gotta do it stay on top of my meds and sleep." Jay nodded in understanding.
"If it makes you feel better, I have anger issues. Doctors say it's because my mom left, I don't know." Jay shrugged. Nellie gave a soft smile before they finally reached the choir room.
"Oh my god!" Matteo gasped as he looked at the Christmas tree and wrapping paper on the floor. Someone had trashed the place. Jay gaped and walked around.
"Who did this?!" He yelled in pure anger. "We don't know. All we know is they took everything." The trio sat down and waited until Mr.Shue came in. Jay and Matteo both looked like they wanted to punch something. When he came in he stopped whistling and looked around the room in confusion.
"They took everything." Mercedes said. "Including all of Sues secret Santa gifts we were gonna give to the homeless kids." Nellie sighed and ran her fingers through her hair in stress.
"This just proves no matter what we do everyone in this school still hates us." Nellie commented. "It's not the school. It's Sue. She did this."
"It wasn't sue. It was Santa. He said a light was out on the tree, he'd fix everything. We just need to let him do his thing." Mr.Shue looked ar the kids and Nellie mouthed 'Go along with it'. He nodded at the statement.
"Okay. Are you sure Santa was a boy and not a girl, Brittany?" Mr.Shue questioned.
"Santa's a boy;everybody knows that."
"It was probably one of the boys on the football team." Rachel whispers.
"I guess it wasn't Sue."
"So our tree is gone. So our presents are missing."
"You say that as if it's supposed to make us feel better." Matteo snapped. "Santa's probably fixing any dents or chips as we speak."
"All around the world today, way worse things have happened to people than this. Sorry, but I'm not going to let this get us down. 'Tis the season."
"I agree. Come on guys, let's clean this up." Nellie sighed before standing up and getting to work cleaning.
"Matteo! I got you a gift! Come on," Nellie pulled Matteo in the corner. "Ok, you know how you said you always wanted a more warm hoodie since your old one had rips in it? Well, I went online and look what I got." Matteo gasped as his favorite hoodie came into view, washed and everything.
"Oh my god. M-My gift isn't even ready for you yet! This is amazing baby! Thank you so much!" The two kissed before hugging each other tightly.
"That's not all. Tonight, we are going on a full Christmas movie marathon." Matteo laughed and nodded.
"I'm glad." Nellie and Matteo turned over to see Jay laughing with Puck and Mike. Nellie has got to admit, he was an attractive kid. But she had a boyfriend, who she was completely loyal to.

Since their presents had been stolen, the girls agreed to sell their hair and the boys were giving away their watches. Nellie held the scissors as she sighed.
"This was my dads." Finn mentions and Nellie smiles and rubs his back. "He'd want you to do itβfor those kids." Mike says.
"This was our uncles. It was when I taught Nellie how to steal." Nellie nodded at that. "I'm going to look terrible." Tina rolls her eyes at Quinn.
"Shut up, with your bone structure you could rock Rosemary's Baby look and still look good. I'm going to look like Jackie Chan." Nellie grabs a piece of her curly hair and looks at it with sad look. She actually really liked her hair.
"If Barbra can pull off a Bob, so can I."
"My mom is gonna kill me." Nellie muttered.
"Enough yapping, let's do this." The girls brought the scissors up to their hair when Mr.Shue walked in.
"Woah woah! What are you guys doing?" He yelled. "We're going all Gift of the Magi to raise money to buy homeless kids those school supplies."
"The guys are gonna sell their watches and the girls are gonna sell or their hair." Sam explained. "Oh no, it's cool. Most of this isn't mine, anyways." Santana assures. "No, I mean that's not the answer. There are other ways to raise money at Christmastime."
"Oh yeah? Name one thing that won't make us look more embarrassing. I'll wait." Nellie crossed her arms over her chest and Mr.Shue completely ignored her.
"Nellies right. We tried caroling, and that didn't work."
"Wait, I thought you and Finn were getting us a new tree." Artie mentions. Finn had told Nellie how they did go and get a new tree, but failed since Rachel tried kissing him again and Finn ended things for good.
"We went, but Finn bailed before we can get one." Rachel explained. "Nice Christmas spirit Finn." Brittany said.
"Wait! Guys, no more fighting. Have any of you actually read "Gift of the Magi?""
"I don't read very much," Jay answered. "Plus you don't have to read it, since everyone knows what it's
