I WAKE UP TO THE sound of a bell ringing from the hallway. "Good morning children! Time to get up!" My mother, Grace, announces before making her way to the dining room.
Once fully dressed in my uniform I walk out of my room and into the hall where my sister is waiting for me. "Ready?" My sister asks me.
"Good morning to you too, Vanya," I reply sarcastically as we walk down the hall where our siblings are getting into their assigned order in a signal file line as we do every morning.
Once all eight of us are in line we quietly walk downstairs and into the dining room and stand around to our assigned seats at the table.
Once our father, Reginald Hargreaves, walked in the room went silent. The only thing heard was the record player as he stood behind his chair. "Sit." He orders.
We do as told and begin eating. I take a bite of bacon as I look around the table. On my left is Alison who is nonverbally flirting with Luther who is sat across the table.
Sat next to him is Deigo, who is currently carving into the arm of his chair with one of his many knives.
On the other end of the table sit Five, Ben, and Vanya who are quietly eating. Our mother has been giving us proper names one by one. Five and I have yet to get ours for some reason.
I take out my book that Ben had let me borrow only to feel a tap on my left shoulder.
I turn to see Klaus who is discreetly holding out a joint to me from the other side of Alison. I quickly check to see if my father was watching our interaction before leaning over and quickly taking the joint with a smirk before putting it in my pocket.
After having some more breakfast, the loud sound of my father's mission alert in every room went off causing my siblings and I to stand and quickly run to our rooms as we were trained to do.
I crouch down pulling out a case with the academy's logo from under my bed.
Opening the case I pull out my mission uniform and quickly change. Once I finish zipping up my suit I grab my domino mask only to find the number three where there is supposed to be a number zero.
I sigh walking out of my room and down the hall ignoring the ongoing mission alarm before knocking on Alison's bedroom door. "Alison. Mom mixed up the laundry again! Give me my mask!"
"Sorry, what?" Alison asks, walking out of Luther's room as she moves some hair away from her face.
I roll my eyes holding out my hand before repeating "My mask. Mom gave me yours."
"Oh," Alison replies before taking off the mask she was wearing and looking at the number. "I have Klaus's."
"Damn. Here just give me his and take yours," I tell her before trading the masks.
"Come on. Quickly! Don't want to be late... Again." My father says walking into the hall as I walk past him to Klaus's room.
"Klaus! Please tell me you have my mask," I ask him from outside his open door.
"I just gave it to Five," He tells me making me groan in annoyance as I toss his mask to him.
"Fi-!" I start.
"Hey, sorry. I was looking for you, but you weren't in your room," Five tells me before handing me my mask.
"Thank you," I reply softly. He smiles a little before walking away towards the staircase. I make my way to follow him but stop at the sound of violin from Vanya's room. "Sounds beautiful," I compliment her.
"Thanks, Z. Have fun on your mission," She tells me with a smile, although I know she would do anything to come with us.
"Will do. Bye sis," I said before walking over to the staircase.
Pulling myself up to stand on the railing, I listen to the melody of Vanya's playing, letting fill my ears before stepping off the ledge.
Falling down three stories of stairs I close my eyes, holding out my hands, almost like iron-man does in my comics.
Before I can hit the ground I let my body float in mid-air, inches off the ground. I slowly lower myself as I open my eyes again to see most of my siblings and mother next to my father.
"Number Zero, save your energy for the mission," My father tells me from the front door.

Third Person POV:
MISSION: Stop multiple heavily armed men from robbing a bank and save hostages.
"Hey! Get them behind the counter!" One of the robbers holding a gun order's as an alarm rings throughout the building. "Now you've put me in a position where I gotta do something I don't want to do. Hmm? Shit!" He says into his walkie-talkie as Alison makes her way over to him.
The man turns to see her. "Hey! Get back with the others."
Alison just smiles politely and says quietly "I heard a rumor..."
"What? What'd you say?" The robber asks getting closer.
"I heard a rumor, that you shot your friend in the foot." Her voice echos in his ears. His eyes turn completely white as he turns to his 'friend' and shoots him in the foot.
Luther and Zero break and fall through the glass ceiling. Before they land Zero holds out her hands, Luther stopping inches from the ground, and Zero staying floating in mid-air. She lowers her hands making Luther land on the ground behind the counter.
Luther grabs a man with a gun by his collar and throws him across the room and out the window with his super strength.
"Guns are for sissies. Real men throw knives." Deigo says running in the room before tossing two knives. They curve to the left stabbing an armed man in the chest.
Zero raises her hand toward a robber, still floating mid-air, and in a quick motion twists her hand making the robber fly, his body hitting the wall with a thud, knocking him unconscious.
"Get back, you freaks." The man, who seems to be in charge of the robbery says from where he stands on the counter.
"Hey, be careful up there, buddy," Diego taunts.
"Wouldn't want you to get hurt," Alison adds.
"Get back now!" He replies, changing the direction of his gun to each of the kids.
"Or what?" Five asks, teleporting to sit behind him on the counter with a grin making the man turn to him. Five teleports away as the man repeatedly shoots at the spot Five was just sitting at.
Five reapers behind him and Zero quickly use's her mind to replace his gun with a stapler from the counter. The man turns and raises his hand only to click the office supply in Five's face.
"Oh! That's one badass stApler!" Five remarks, his voice cracking slightly, before ramming it to his head, knocking him out.
"What do I do with this?" Zero asks, landing on the floor with the robber's gun in her hands. The sound of a groan behind her makes her turn around. "Oh. Nevermind," She adds before hitting a robber on the head, knocking him out as well.
The seven Hargreeves siblings crowd around a door where multiple men are arguing inside. "Do we really have to do this?" Ben asks, knowing what he has to do.
"Come on, Ben. There's more guys in the vault," Luther pushes.
Ben sighs deeply. "I didn't sign up for this." He says quietly before opening the door and walking in as Klaus and Zero free the hostages.
The sounds of screems and screeches come from the room as the shadow of huge tentacles and blood spattering are visible in the frosted glass.
Ben walks out covered in blood from head to toe. "Can we go home now?" Ben asks shakily.
"Oh, Ben." Zero walks over to him as she takes off her blazer and puts it over his shoulders. "When we get home, we can have a movie night. Yeah?" She asks quietly with a small smile earning a small nod from Ben.
The Hargreeves siblings walk outside the bank to see many reporters and police. Minutes later Reginald Hargreeves walks up in front of the kids, to talk the reporters.
"Our World is changing." He starts as multiple cameras flash. "Has changed. There are some among us gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary. I have adopted seven such children. I give you, the inaugural class, of the Umbrella Academy."
Zero didn't like the fact that her father would pretend that he didn't adopt Vanya in front of the press, but she couldn't do anything about it.
"Mr. Hargreeves! Mr. Hargreeves. Channel 9 News. What happened to their parents?" A reporter asks him.
"They were suitably compensated." He replies simply.
"Are you concerned about the welfare of the children?" Another reporter asks as more photos get taken.
"Of course. As I am for the fate of the world."

Zero's POV:
A few weeks later we had our training of the day. At the bottom of the staircase were numbers Zero - Six were standing waiting for the green light.
Vanya, who was on the top floor with our father was looking down at us. Once our father finishes writing down notes Vanya blows her whistle making my siblings and I start to run up the stairs fighting to be the first one up.
With Luther and Deigo in the lead, we all push our way trying to get past each other only to hear the familiar sound of Five teleporting to the front. "That's not fair, Five's cheating!" Deigo whines.
"He adapted." Reginald remarks simply as he watches us. '
Wait. If he can do that... then I can do this!' I think to myself before stoping to pull myself up to stand on the hand railing. I've never flown up this high but there's a first for everything. Right?
Looking up I jump, flying up four stories of stairs proudly. "Hey, Zero! No fair!" Alison yells from below me making me smirk mesteviosly.
Suddenly right when I'm about to get to the highest floor I start to fall. "Shit," I say, trying to grab onto a railing but it just slips out of my grasp.
"Zero!" I hear Vanya yell from above me. Hearing the sound of Five teleporting again I feel an arm grab me by my waist, pulling me on the closest staircase.
"You okay?" Five asks with his arm still wraped around me.
I can only reply with a nod and an "uh-huh," as I catch my breath.

With my left hand strapped faced up on the chair I sat, a man with a tattoo gun and ink sits in front of me as he prepares to give me a tattoo.
My father had ordered my siblings (accept Vanya) and I to take off our blazers and roll up our left sleeves.
Klaus walks up to my right and grabs my hand seeing how nervous I am. I smile at him gratefully as the needle makes contact with my forearm making me wince.
What felt like hours of pain went by and I was now walking over to another chair by my siblings who had already gotten their tattoos.
I look down at my left arm to see the newly placed Umbrella Acadamy tattoo as a tear falls down my cheek which I quickly wipe away with the cuff of the sleeve of my uniform.
