Fuyuhiko left his father's office, the weight of the situation hanging heavily on his shoulders. He couldn't sit still, the need to take action buzzing through him like electricity. As soon as he made it to his own office, he slammed the door behind him and immediately pulled out his phone. His fingers moved swiftly over the screen as he dialed the first number.

"Double the security at every entrance." he barked into the phone, not even bothering with a greeting. "I don't care how many men it takes. No one gets near the manor, got it?"

The voice on the other end stammered a quick confirmation before Fuyuhiko hung up and dialed another number, this time reaching the head of his father's private security detail.

"You're in charge of watching Hannah." Fuyuhiko snapped, his voice barely holding back the frustration boiling inside him. "I don't want her left alone for a second. I'll personally deal with anyone who screws this up."

Another rushed confirmation and Fuyuhiko ended the call, tossing his phone onto the desk. He dragged a hand through his hair, fingers tugging at the strands as he flung himself onto the sofa. He leaned back, letting his head fall against the cushions, staring up at the ceiling.

A heavy groan escaped his lips, frustration pooling deep in his chest. His mind was racing, the thought of what had happened to Hannah gnawing at him like a relentless itch he couldn't scratch. The wounds, the bruises, he had seen her battered body when they found her, and the image was seared into his brain.

How the hell had it come to this?

His hand moved to rub the back of his neck, trying to relieve the tension there, but it was useless. No amount of calls or security measures felt like enough. The thought of Saito, of that bastard still out there, scheming and plotting, made Fuyuhiko's blood boil.

His phone suddenly buzzed on the table beside him, pulling him from his thoughts. Frowning, he reached for it, narrowing his eyes at the unknown number flashing on the screen. His gut tightened. For a moment, he debated ignoring it, but something compelled him to answer.

With a sigh, he pressed the phone to his ear. "Yeah?" he answered, voice sharp.

There was a pause, a moment of eerie silence before a mocking chuckle came through the speaker. The voice that responded was low, dripping with venomous amusement. "Ah, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. I was wondering how long it would take you to pick up."

Fuyuhiko's entire body tensed, his heart rate spiking as he recognized the voice.

"How's little Hannah doing? Still crying like a wounded bird?" The words dripped with amusement and malice, the kind that instantly put Fuyuhiko on high alert.

"Saito." he growled, every syllable filled with contempt. His blood boiled at the sound of that name. "You piece of shit."

Saito chuckled again, clearly enjoying the reaction. "Now, now, no need for name-calling. I'm just concerned for the poor girl's wellbeing. I mean, after what we did to her... well, I'm sure she's a little... rattled, no?" His voice was dripping with mock sympathy, only fueling Fuyuhiko's rage.

Fuyuhiko shot up from the sofa, pacing furiously. "If you so much as come near her again, I'll personally tear you apart." His voice was laced with venom, but Saito didn't seem fazed.

"Oh? You seem protective, Kuzuryu. Tell me, how is it, seeing her so fragile? A girl like her doesn't belong in your world. She's soft. Delicate. Too easy to break."

Fuyuhiko's vision blurred with red hot anger. His hand shook as he gripped the phone tighter, knuckles turning white. Every word from Saito felt like a taunt, a jab at Hannah's suffering, and it enraged him to no end. "You think you're untouchable, don't you?" Fuyuhiko spat. "But I'm coming for you, Saito. You've made this personal."

Saito's voice lowered, the humor slipping away, replaced by something colder. "Oh, it's always been personal, Kuzuryu."

He chuckled again, the sound dripping with malice. "I have to admit, Fuyuhiko, I didn't think the little heir would be such a fighter. But she's... fun. And I'm not quite done with her yet."

Fuyuhiko's jaw clenched so tight it hurt. Every word out of Saito's mouth was pushing him further into a dangerous place, a place where the only solution would be violence. His mind flashed back to Hannah, her bruised face, her trembling form after the attack. The mere thought of Saito near her again sent his blood boiling.

"You're dead." Fuyuhiko spat, his voice trembling with fury. "You hear me? You come near her again, and I swear on the Kuzuryu name, I'll put a bullet between your eyes myself."

Saito chuckled again, infuriatingly calm. "Oh, I don't doubt that, but I have my ways, Kuzuryu. You can't protect her forever. She's already seen too much, been hurt too much. How long before she breaks? How long before she'll beg for someone else to take her out of your hands?"

Fuyuhiko gritted his teeth, his anger simmering dangerously close to the surface. "You lay a finger on her, and I swear to God-!"

"You'll what?" Saito interrupted, his tone dripping with arrogance. "Kill me? Please, you've been trying for years. But I'm still here, and now I'm closer to what I want than ever before."

Fuyuhiko's vision blurred with fury. "What the hell do you want from her?"

There was a long pause, and when Saito spoke again, his voice was quieter but no less malicious. "Power, Fuyuhiko. And she's the key to it. The Togami family is an empire, and with her under my control, the Morioka clan will be unstoppable."

"You're delusional." Fuyuhiko scowled. "She'll never be yours."

"Time will tell." Saito responded, his tone chillingly smug. "But until then, I suggest you keep a close eye on your precious Hannah. Accidents tend to happen when people least expect it."

Before Fuyuhiko could respond, the line went dead.

He stared at the phone in his hand, his chest heaving with barely-contained fury. Saito's words echoed in his mind, a dangerous promise laced with dark intent.

He threw the phone across the room, the device clattering against the wall with a loud crack. "Damn it!" he cursed, his chest heaving. Saito had crossed a line, and Fuyuhiko knew that this wouldn't end until one of them was dead.

Without hesitation, Fuyuhiko stormed out of his office. There was no way he could let this go. If Saito wanted to taunt him, he was going to regret it. He had to find a way to end this before Saito got another chance to lay his hands on Hannah.

Revenge burned in his gut, but more than anything, the need to protect Hannah consumed him. He wouldn't let Saito win. Not this time, not ever.

His mind spun with Saito's twisted words, and a sense of dread settled in the pit of his stomach. Without wasting a second, he bolted from his office, his footsteps echoing sharply in the hallways of the Kuzuryu manor.

He needed to check on Hannah. Now.

His men stationed near her door barely had time to react before Fuyuhiko shoved past them, urgency fueling his every move. His breath came in quick bursts, panic clawing at his insides as he threw the door open, almost ripping it off the hinges.

Fuyuhiko burst into Hannah's room, the door slamming against the wall with a loud bang. His heart raced as he scanned the dimly lit room, searching for any sign of danger. But what met his eyes instead was Hannah, startled awake by the sudden noise.

She sat upright in bed, her eyes wide with fear, her body trembling as if she was bracing for another attack. The look on her face, pale and fragile, cut into Fuyuhiko's heart like a knife.

"F-Fuyuhiko?" she stammered, her voice shaky as she tried to make sense of the situation. "W-what's going on?"

He cursed himself under his breath, realizing that he'd scared her half to death. Rushing into her room like that, especially after what she'd been through, was reckless. He moved toward her, his hands raised slightly in a gesture meant to reassure her, though his own panic was still buzzing under the surface.

"It's okay-" he muttered quickly, his voice softer now. "It's just me. I'm sorry I woke you like that."

Hannah blinked, her body still tense, but she relaxed slightly as her eyes adjusted to the sight of Fuyuhiko standing in front of her, rather than another intruder.

"Why... w-why did you barge in like that?" she asked softly, her voice tinged with a mix of confusion and worry. "You looked... panicked."

Fuyuhiko's throat tightened, and for a moment, he didn't know how to respond. He didn't want to alarm her, especially when she was still healing, both physically and emotionally. The weight of what he had learnt, that Saito had orchestrated her kidnapping and was still a looming threat, was something he wasn't ready to lay on her yet.

He avoided her gaze for a second, his jaw clenched as he tried to decide what to say.

His jaw clenched as he fought to find the right words. "I... just had a bad feeling." he said, his voice low but firm. "Wanted to make sure you were okay. That's all."

Hannah frowned, not entirely convinced. She could sense there was more to it. "Fuyuhiko, you're not telling me everything." She shifted on the bed, looking up at him, trying to read his expression. "Is there something I should know?"

Fuyuhiko met her gaze, his chest tightening at the sight of her worried eyes. She had been through so much, more than anyone should have to handle, and he hated the idea of adding to her burdens.

He hesitated again, unsure whether to tell her the whole truth. "Look.." he finally said, his voice softer, "You don't need to worry about it. I'm handling it. We've got more security, more people watching over you. I'm not going to let anything happen to you again, I swear."

Hannah sighed, leaning back against the headboard. "You're hiding something from me. I can tell."

Fuyuhiko reached out, taking her hand gently in his. "You just need to focus on resting and getting better." he insisted. "Let me deal with the rest. It's my responsibility now to protect you."

Hannah's brow furrowed in frustration, but she didn't push further. She was too exhausted, both physically and mentally, to fight him on this right now. Instead, she squeezed his hand, grateful that he was there, even if she knew he wasn't telling her everything.

"Okay." she whispered finally, though the unease in her voice was still there. "But... don't shut me out. I need to know if something's wrong, Fuyuhiko."

Fuyuhiko nodded, guilt gnawing at him, but he kept his expression steady. "I promise." he said, even though part of him knew he wasn't ready to share the full truth just yet. Not until he had dealt with Saito.

Not until he could be absolutely sure Hannah was safe.
