Author's Note: It's killing me not to write anymore so I'm back just to continue what I've started. I won't change her name because it's too much of a hassle at this point.

Penelope had never felt more relief to see my parents than that moment. Sure, Edward thought of just killing all of the Addamses right then and there but again, it was too risky. Though if the house were to be set on fire...
She had to kick his foot when his train of thought went there but that backfired. She had forgotten that he was made of some sort of venom stone. Pain shot through her leg and she had to bite back a whimper from the pain. Edward was amused.
Oblivious to this, Gomez offered his hand to Edward while his eyes scanned him, almost appraising him to see if he was good enough for his daughter. Penelope wanted to roll her eyes at his thoughts, but she first had to panic over whether Edward would shake his hand or not. Thankfully, Gomez was wearing gloves so he wouldn't be able to feel his cold skin.
"It's nice to meet you, Edward."
Morticia then extended her gloved hand as well which Edward took politely. "EnchantΓ©e, Edward."
"Enchante, ma'am."
Penelope already knew what was coming and cringed internally when her father suddenly took her mother's hand and looked into her eyes like a bewitched man. "Oh, Tish... that's French... You know that just drives me wild."
He then proceeded to kiss a path up her arm and pull her close, per usual. Meanwhile, Penelope turned off her mind-reading as quickly as possible so as to not be barraged with graphic images of what her father would rather be doing to her mother right about now.
Morticia spoke up after a few seconds of Gomez's loving attention. "Darling, please, not in front of our daughter and her friend."
Penelope had her head in her hands and Edward was looking away. If he could blush, he would. Poor guy. Though surely he's heard and seen much worse considering he lived among three couples. Or maybe not. These were Addamses, after all.
Gomez let out a disappointed huff and stopped his kissing. "You're right, querida. My apologies, Edward."
Edward cleared his throat and nodded. "Oh, don't worry about it."
He wasn't looking Gomez in the eyes anymore, presumably because of Gomez's graphic thoughts.
Just then, Lurch entered the library and announced in that deep, dead voice of his, "Dinner will be ready in half an hour."
"Thank you, Lurch," replied Morticia before he left the room. She looked toward Edward and Penelope just knew a dinner invitation was coming. Her mother was excited that she had brought a friend home for the first time. "Edward, would you like to stay for dinner? We're having camel hump steak tonight."
He was utterly confused about why someone would eat a camel's hump. Maybe the people in town weren't lying. Wishing to be courteous to Morticia, he politely declined the invitation.
"That sounds delicious, Mrs. Addams, but I happen to be vegetarian. I should be getting home anyway, my parents are probably worried."
Morticia had hoped he would stay so she made one last attempt to keep him. "No, please, stay. I can have Lurch whip you up a nice salad. You can call your parents from our phone to let them know you're having dinner here if you'd like."
"No, I couldn't impose-"
"Nonsense, it's no imposition at all. It's not every day that Penelope brings home a friend."
Penelope wanted the earth to swallow her up right then and there with how insistent her mother was getting. That's probably one of the few emotions Edward could detect from her since he knew that feeling very well.
He was starting to feel like there wasn't going to be a way to get out of this situation so he gave in. "Well, alright. Thank you, Mrs. Addams. I would love to have dinner with you all tonight. I'll just call my parents then."
"C'est merveilleux!"
After hearing that, Gomez couldn't stop himself. "Morticia, I've told you I'm not responsible for my actions when you speak like that."
He resumed the kisses up her arm, only that he went farther up her neck and he didn't seem like he would stop.
Penelope motioned for Edward to follow her out of the library, leaving her parents to their own activities. She led him up to her room and plopped herself down on the seat at her window.
"If you're going to kill me, I'd rather you do it now so I don't have to see my parents glow when we have dinner."
Surprisingly, Edward chuckled. "I would... but the situation is more complicated than that."
"Tell me about it," she muttered to herself as she rubbed her temple.
They were quiet for a few minutes before he broke the silence with a quiet question. "How much do you know?"
This was it. She could be entirely truthful or just partially. If you were suddenly transported to one of your favorite book series and you knew exactly how it would play out, do you tell a main character everything or not? Too much would probably freak them out.
On the other hand, Edward wanted to know if his family was at risk or not. Perhaps if she told most of the truth, they would stay and she could watch everything else unfold.
A long sigh left her lips and she looked into his eyes with complete sincerity. "Everything."

Penelope told him her entire situation. Told him about her other life, what she knew about him and his family, her mind-reading capabilities, etc. She left out the stuff about what would happen in the future under the guise of not wanting to disrupt the order of this world even more.
They had to split the conversation in two since they still had to have dinner with her parents. She watched on with amusement as he tried to pretend he was eating and enjoying the camel hump steak while getting barraged with questions from both Morticia and Gomez.
For dessert, they were served mint ice cream with goat eyes. It was actually quite enjoyable, but Edward still had a hard time wrapping his mind around it.
When her parents finally let him go, Penelope drove him home in her car where he took his revenge and barraged her with his own questions. And despite the multitude of questions, she felt so much better that she had someone to confide in, particularly because he moved away from his plan of slaughtering her whole family.
As he led her through the secret trail that led to his home, she had to ask, "So... are you still going to kill me?"
He hummed thoughtfully, but I could tell he was a bit conflicted. He wanted to keep her around to find out more about her situation and she didn't seem like a threat to his secret, but she was still a human in the know.
"I'm not sure. It's not just dangerous for my family that you know about our secret, but it's dangerous for you too."
"I know. The Volturi would stick to their laws. Nomadic vampires could use me as leverage against you..."
"Exactly," he mumbled pensively. "The best options we have are returning you to your world or... turning you into a vampire."
The last option fell heavily on her ears. Turning into a vampire was not a light decision at all and knowing Edward, he wouldn't want to turn her for the sake of her soul.
"I don't know how to get home..." She murmured quietly. It was a sad realization despite her having a home in this world. She had a good life here but her friends were elsewhere. She'd miss them and Colin... one of her best friends. Though he was dating someone else at the time she became conscious here, she secretly hoped that there would be something between them in the future. She would miss her parents the most though. Suddenly her mother's hugs were all she wanted.
Edward watched her, a sense of empathy blooming in his chest for her. He wasn't completely sure why, but perhaps the fact that she was just as trapped as him in a life that was forced on her was the driving factor. However, he wasn't sure if giving her a comforting touch was too soon.
When she felt a hot tear roll down her cheek, she quickly rubbed it away. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cry in front of you."
"It's perfectly understandable. Please, don't worry about it."
She sighed softly and kept dabbing at her eyes until she could compose herself again to keep driving. They pulled into the driveway of his home but she was too busy trying to calm herself to admire it up close.
"Right, well, thank you for not killing me today. I'm sure you and your family will be discussing this ad nauseam, so I'll leave you to it. They've already heard a good chunk of our conversation."
He was still caught off guard that she could read their minds yet hers was still closed off to him, but he quickly shook that off. He remained in the car for a few more moments and in a low, smooth voice, he asked, "Can we meet tomorrow?" He desperately wanted to know as much as he could about her situation. It was nothing like he ever heard about.
The both of them could hear Rosalie's protests from inside the house. Penelope managed to laugh a bit as she looked over at him. "Is that really a good idea?"
Edward was more annoyed than amused at Rosalie's protests, yet his features softened when he looked back at her. "I'll let you know tomorrow." He let out a deep sigh, knowing that this was going to be a long night for him.

When she returned home, she managed to avoid seeing her parents and made a quick escape to her bedroom. It had been a long day and things were moving much faster now than they had for the past few weeks. First, she somehow managed to get Edward to her house, they listened to music, she forced him to dance, he found out that she knew he was a vampire, and then she opened up about her situation. It was a lot to digest.
Penelope was sure that her decision to tell him about her two lives was the thing that saved her and her family. They both had equally big secrets that they could not let anyone else know about. Her only hope now was that the Cullens wouldn't decide to move away. But it would be a good plan. Her mind is closed off to other mind readers so she could definitely pretend that she doesn't know about vampires. It was a bit harder for them to hide the information about her if they were ever called to the Volturi, but perhaps she'd be dead by the time that happened.
Once she was in pajamas and nestled in bed, the grief over her former life overwhelmed her once more. Some days were harder than others. She could forget for a while, but then it would all come back to haunt her out of nowhere. She wept quietly until she exhausted herself and fell asleep.
