Minji stared at the single bed in the center of the room.
Then she turned to the hotel staff. "There's a mistake."
The woman blinked at her. "No mistake, miss. This is the last room available."
Minji whipped around to glare at Kyung-jun, who was already lounging against the doorframe, arms crossed, clearly enjoying her frustration.
"You booked the rooms, Kyung-jun!" she accused.
"Yeah," he yawned, "and I booked two. But someone decided to get sick and cancel last minute, so now we're stuck sharing."
Minji groaned, pressing her hands to her temples. "No. Nope. This is not happening."
Kyung-jun smirked. "Unless you want to sleep on the floor."
She gasped. "Why would I sleep on the floor?! You're the tall one, your legs probably won't even fit!"
"Exactly," he shrugged. "So, bed's mine."
She gasped again. "You jerk! I am not sleeping on the floor!"
"Then I guess we're sharing, sunshine." He shot her a lazy grin before dropping his bag by the bed.
Minji seethed. She hated him. She hated him so much.
But the floor was cold...
With a defeated sigh, she grabbed her pajamas and stormed into the bathroom.
โ
After changing into an oversized hoodie and shorts, Minji reluctantly climbed into bed. She made extra sure to stay on her side, practically hugging the edge.
Kyung-jun, in his sweatpants and a loose t-shirt, simply lay down with his arms behind his head, looking way too comfortable.
"Stay on your side," she warned.
"Don't flatter yourself," he shot back.
Minji huffed and shut her eyes.
โ
...Except she couldn't sleep.
Because Kyung-jun was warm.
Like, really warm. His body radiated heat like a human heater, and it was annoying how comfortable it made her feel.
She turned, very carefully, to peek at him.
And that's when she realizedโ
Kyung-jun was already looking at her.
Her breath hitched.
Neither of them moved.
For a moment, it was just... them. The dim glow of the hotel lamp, the sound of the rain outside, and the strangely soft way Kyung-jun was watching her.
His voice was low when he finally spoke.
"Are you cold?"
Minji swallowed. "N-no."
"Liar."
Before she could protest, he tugged the blanket over both of them, shifting closerโnot touching, but close enough.
Minji's heart was pounding.
"You're annoying," she whispered.
Kyung-jun smirked, eyes half-lidded. "And you're cute when you're flustered."
Minji gasped. "I am not flusteredโ"
But then he reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
She froze.
"Sleep, sunshine," he murmured, his voice a little too soft, a little too gentle.
Minji turned away from him, pressing her face into the pillow, trying to calm her racing heart.
Kyung-jun chuckled, his voice laced with amusement.
"Goodnight, Minji."
She squeezed her eyes shut.
She was so screwed.
โ
Minji woke up feeling way too comfortable.
Something warm was wrapped around her waist.
Something solid was pressed against her back.
Something soft was breathing against her neck.
Her eyes snapped open.
And then she froze.
Because that something was Kyung-jun.
Kyung-jun, who was currently holding her like she was a damn teddy bear.
Minji's brain malfunctioned.
What. The. Hell.
Her heart was practically slamming against her ribs as she very carefully tried to move. But the moment she shifted, the arms around her tightened.
And thenโ
A sleepy voice mumbled against her hair.
"Mm... Minji... stop moving."
Her entire body went rigid.
She could feel his breath against her skin, warm and way too intimate.
And then, barely above a whisperโ
"You're so warm..." A sigh. "I like holding you..."
Minji's soul left her body.
Her face went up in flames.
Kyung-jun nuzzled into her hair, still half-asleep, completely unaware of the emotional crisis she was having.
Then, in the softest voice she had ever heard from himโ
"I really like you, Minji..."
Minji forgot how to breathe.
Kyung-jun liked her?
Kyung-jun liked her?!
She could barely process it before she felt his breathing even out again, his arms still wrapped securely around her.
The bastard had confessed in his sleep.
Her mind was screaming, her heart was melting, and yet...
She didn't move.
Because... this felt nice.
Maybe... just maybe... she didn't mind waking up like this.
With a small, shy smile, Minji let her eyes flutter shut again, snuggling a little closer.
Just for a bit longer.
She'd deal with it later.
For now... she just wanted to enjoy being in Kyung-jun's arms.
