As the clock hit the exact 10 minutes after Chris had suggested that Sophia should give him a call, she found herself staring at her phone, her finger hesitating over the call button. "Alright, Sophia, you got this," she mumbled to herself, taking a deep breath before finally tapping the button.

It rang once, twice, and with each ring, Sophia's heart raced a little faster. Suddenly, the call was answered, and a warm voice filled her ears.

"Hey, Soph," the other voice softly spoke from the other side of the phone, instantly pulling her away from her overthinking spiral. "Could you please please turn on your camera for me?" he whispered, his words carrying a gentle, almost pleading tone.

Sophia felt her heart skip a beat, a mixture of excitement and nervousness flooding her senses. She pushed aside the tangled blankets and got out of her cozy bed, placing her phone carefully on her cluttered desk. Settling into the chair, she took a deep breath, her fingers dancing on the keyboard as she adjusted the angle.

"Why should I? Your camera's off too," she quipped playfully, her anxiety now intermingled with amusement. She noticed herself smiling, an unconscious reaction she couldn't suppress.

"I'd turn it on in a second, you just have to ask, Soph," he replied, his voice carrying a warmth that wrapped around her like a comforting embrace. His soft laugh followed, a sound that held a unique ability to mend even the most fragile of hearts.

"If you turn your cam on, I'll turn mine too," Sophia teased, feeling the thrill of a playful challenge.

"Okay, in the count of three," Chris agreed, and the soft clicking of his fingers typing on his phone reached her ears.

"3..."

"2..."

"1," they simultaneously turned on their cameras. Sophia's screen came to life with an image of Chrisβ€”his entire being illuminated before her. She couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions as she took in every detail, from the sweet curve of his smile to the casual black hoodie he was wearing, the droplets of water still glistening in his tousled hair.

Her heart raced, but her newfound ease surprised her. She had imagined this moment countless times, but the real thing felt better than any daydream. It was as if the pixels on the screen held an unspoken connection, a bridge between two people who had admired each other from afar for so long.

"How are you?" Sophia asked Chris, her voice soft yet tinged with curiosity, finally embracing the opportunity to engage in a conversation that felt real and unguarded.

"Seeing you like this, I'd say my day just got a hundred times better," Chris replied, his eyes twinkling with a mix of admiration and playfulness. The dimple that appeared on his cheek as he grinned was enough to make Sophia's heart skip another beat.

She chuckled, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks. "Oh really? Is that your smooth way of saying I'm your daily dose of sunshine?"

Chris laughed, the sound carrying a warmth that was almost tangible. "Well, you caught me. I did call you sunshine before and I couldn't end my day without that smile of yours brightening things up."

Sophia leaned back in her chair, her heart dancing to a rhythm she hadn't felt in a while. "You're not so bad yourself, Chrissy Pooh," she teased, letting the endearing nickname slip out without a second thought.

Chris's eyebrows shot up, a mix of surprise and delight on his face. "Chrissy Pooh? That's a new one. I think I kinda like it," he admitted, his tone playful.

"Glad to hear it," Sophia replied, her gaze locked on his eyes through the screen. "So, what's on your agenda for the day, aside from turning on your camera for me?"

Chris pretended to ponder for a moment, his lips curled in mock concentration. "Well, I was thinking of conquering the world, but now that you're here, I might settle for conquering this pile of laundry instead."

Sophia laughed, the sound light and genuine. "Ah, the eternal battle of adulthood. I salute your valiant efforts, Chrissy Pooh."

"Thank you, thank you," Chris replied with an exaggerated bow, his eyes never leaving hers. "And what about you? Any grand plans for the day?"

Sophia leaned in, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Well, apart from being your source of daily sunshine, I was actually writing some more songs."

Chris leaned closer to the camera, a playful smirk forming. "More?"

She smirked back, enjoying the intrigue she was creating. " Yes. A lot more actually I'm starting another album too. It's easier now because I've been feeling so many things lately"

Sophia's eyes sparkled as she leaned in, her voice carrying a hint of excitement. "Well, this album is going to be filled with sad songs, you know, the kind that tug at your heartstrings. Except for 'Dangerous Woman.' I wanted to sneak in a bit of fierceness amidst all the melancholy. And after this one, I'm hoping for the next album to be filled with happier songs."

Chris sat there, his gaze fixed on the girl on his phone screen, her passion for music radiating through every word. As he listened to her, he found himself captivated by her dedication, wondering if he would ever discover something that ignited his soul the way music did for her.

He ran a hand through his hair, a soft smile tugging at his lips. "You really put your heart into your music, don't you?"

Sophia's smile was both proud and humble. "Absolutely. It's like my heart and soul come alive when I'm singing and writing. It's a way for me to express everything I feel, whether it's happiness, pain, or just the beauty of everyday moments."

Chris nodded, his admiration evident. "I can see how much it means to you. It's inspiring, really."

Sophia's cheeks warmed at his compliment, and she gave a small, grateful nod. "Thank you, Chrissy Pooh. It's a part of me, and I'm glad I get to share it with others."

He leaned back against his chair, his gaze never leaving hers. "Well, I'm lucky to be one of those 'others' who gets to hear your music."

Sophia's heart skipped a beat at his words. Their conversation had taken a turn into territory she hadn't quite anticipated, and she found herself both thrilled and a little nervous about the direction it was heading.

"Thanks, Chris," she replied, her voice soft. "It means a lot to me."

Chris smiled, his eyes warm as they locked onto hers. "You're welcome. Just keep doing what you're doing, Soph. You have a fan in me."

Chris smiled, his eyes never leaving hers. "You have a gift, Soph. Your songs have a way of making me see the world in a different light." he added

Sophia bit her lip, feeling a mix of shyness and exhilaration. "Well, maybe someday I'll perform it just for you."

His expression softened, a gentle warmth radiating from him. "I'd really like that."

"I'm really glad we started talking like this," Chris added, his voice sincere.

"Me too," Sophia agreed, her eyes reflecting the fondness she felt for him. "Who would've thought a simple song could lead to all this?"

Chris chuckled softly. "Life works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?"

Sophia nodded, a soft smile playing on her lips. "Definitely. Well, I should probably let you get back to conquering that laundry mountain."

Chris chuckled, his gaze lingering on her. "Yeah, laundry duty calls or Matt would kill me. But talking to you has been the highlight of my day."

Sophia's heart fluttered at his words. "Likewise, Chrissy Pooh. Until next time?"

"Absolutely," Chris replied, a promise in his tone. "Take care, Sophie."

"You too, Chris," she said with a grin.

And with that, they ended the call, each carrying with them the memory of a conversation that had deepened their connection and sparked something special between them. As the screens went dark, they both knew that this was just the beginning of a story that was unfolding in ways they couldn't quite anticipate
