chapter two.
[2] "ONE DAY STAYS UNDEFINED"

"Have you guys decided which college you guys are going to apply too? you'll be graduating in a few months," My dad asked.

Few months? Last time I checked it was just first day.

I was currently in the middle of an interesting dinner with the Orlando's. Honestly I didn't mind cause this was the only time my parents acted like they actually like each other.

"I'm thinking of applying to Yale and maybe Princeton," Asher responded, giving my dad a small smile, his dimples coming to life.

He's so cute.

"What about you Johnny?" My mom asked, a tight smile on her face and I'm pretty sure Caleb and I were the only ones who noticed the tension between our parents.

"Columbia's on top of my list." He smiled at her.

His answer amused me, Columbia was my dream college too. Something about studying in New York, far far away from my parents just felt right.

My dad nodded, "That's Annie's dream college too."  He mentioned and I mentally slapped myself when I saw a slight smirk appear on Johnny's face.

"I don't think she'll get in though, her grades are slipping," Caleb added with a shrug which got my eyes to widen slightly.

I noticed Meredith and Dale exchange looks as I glared at Caleb.

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.

He loves embarrassing me doesn't he?
I hate him and I hated how he was right.

Johnny, Lauren and Asher let out a slight laugh.

Hey at least If I don't get in I won't be stuck with the imbecile. There's always a bright side. I hate everyone. I hate every single boy on the planet.

Asher might be the only exception. I said might.

I gave Caleb a tight smile, "Something's aren't meant to be said out loud." I mumbled by the time our parents were already occupied in an another conversation. I'm glad they were though.

Suddenly, Everyone else seemed to be talking each other and not gonna lie, it felt a little lonely.

I excused myself since I was done with my food, going upto my room. It's not like they were even gonna notice.

I flipped through my notebook, I liked writing, a lot actuallyβ€”but my father kept reminding me how it was never going to get me anywhere and with the amount of times he's said that to me, I'm inclined to believe it.

"Hey,"

I jumped at the sudden voice, shoving my notebook under the pile of my heavy science text books.

"Do you not know how to knock?" I asked, crossing my arms and I leaned back on my desk but ended up tripping. Curse my clumsy self.

"You okay?" Johnny asked. What is he doing here.

"Why?"

"What do you mean why?"

I shook my head, "You should go back down,"

He smirked slightly, "Why would I do that when I could spend time with my favourite human?" He questioned sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes, "Sadly I can't say the same."

He shrugged falling onto my made bed. "I know you write Julie and I think you should show me some of your works,"

"How do you know that?"

"I just do." He replied. He looked at me as I stared at him trying to figure out how he found out, he raised his eyebrows, "I'm waiting."

I scoffed, "First of all, take your shoes off my bed and secondly, you're kinda crazy if you think I would show you anything."

He fake pouted, kicking his shoes off, "Come on,"

"No," I answered. "You remember me taking karate in sixth grade right?"

He twisted his tongue motioning me to come sit next to him, "How could I forget."

I sat on the edge of my bed, "Good now that's exactly why you should leave before I go all karate on y-"

He pulled down before I could finish my sentence, making me fall beside him. What the fuck. Curse my slow reflexes.

"Karate huh?" I could hear the smirk in his voice as my cheeks probably reddened since I was laying quite close to him.

"I hate you." I mumbled moving away a little, a decent amount space between us.

He laughed slightly, "No you don't,"

"Yes I do."

"Nope,"

"I hate you."

"You love me." He shrugged sitting up and that's when I realised his hand was on mine. He trailed his hands off, his fingers lingering on my arm as he did so, his eyes piercing through mine.

I don't know if his actions were all that innocent but they didn't fail to get my heart racing. I have no idea why he had this effect on me and I want it to stop like right now.

He stood up, "I'll see them one day Julie."

"One day as in never." I shrugged, trying to ignore my rapid heartbeat.

"One day stays undefined." He corrected, smiling to himself. I threw a pillow at him but he skilfully dodged it.

How come he has such good reflexes. Life really isn't fair.

Meredith hollered from downstairs, calling out to him to which he responded with a 'coming' "Goodnight Julie." He then smiled quite genuinely. Something I didn't see very often.

"Night." I let out a slight breath, closing my eyes as I heard him close the door shut.
