Valentina POV

"𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑲 you so much for coming." I said

I shut the front door of my and Josh's apartment as Cora and Hollie walked in.

"Well, when your best friend tells you that she may be pregnant, you drop everything." Hollie replied

I narrowed my eyes at Hollie.

"You're so lucky that Josh isn't here." I said

I grabbed the plastic bag from Cora's hand and hurried towards the bathroom, closing it behind me as soon as I walked in.

"So, where is Josh?" Cora asked

I ripped open the box before responding.

"With Brett and Connor." I said

My hands were trembling and I was sure that I was going to pass out. Sure, I was eighteen, an adult, but was I ready for kids? We're both about to start college and we never talked about having kids. We've only been dating for two years.

"You okay?" Hollie asked, softly

I stepped out of the bathroom, the test in my hand, and nodded.

"I think so. I just have to wait three minutes." I said

We all walked into the living room and sat down on the couch.

"What are you going to do if it's positive?" Cora asked

"I-I don't know. We've only been dating for two years and we've never talked about having kids." I said

I could feel tears well up in my eyes but I refused to let them fall.

"Vale, if you are pregnant, Josh will fall in love with the baby. I know that you're scared that he's going to leave you." Hollie said

"What if he doesn't want any kids?" I asked

I let a few tears roll down my cheeks. I didn't bother wiping them away because I was sure that there would be more.

"Don't be silly, Vale. Of course Josh wants kids." Cora said

She placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. I looked at one of my best friends and nodded, giving her a small smile. I glanced at my wrist watch and my heart rate immediately sped up.

"It's been three minutes. I can't look, I'm so nervous." I whispered

"Do you want me to look?" Hollie offered

"Please?" I said

The blonde nodded and examined the pregnancy test.

"Vale, you should take a look at it." Hollie said

Hollie handed me the pregnancy test and as soon as my eyes landed on the sign, I gasped.

"Oh my god. How am I supposed to tell him that I'm pregnant?" I asked

I stared at the positive pregnancy test in my hand. I couldn't stop staring at it.

"Well, you could make him a little gift and put some baby things in it? Or, you could just tell him as soon as he walks through the door?" Cora suggested

I smiled.

"I actually like the idea of the gift." I said

Hollie and Cora squealed and wrapped me in a hug.

"I can't believe your actually pregnant!" Cora said

"Me neither." I said

I bit my lip.

"But I'm actually happy. I just hope Josh will be, too." I said

"Are you kidding? Josh will be ecstatic. Come on. We have things to buy." Hollie said

I laughed.

"I think you two are more excited about this baby than I am." I said

Hollie shrugged.

"I love babies and when my best friend is the one having one, I love them even more." Hollie said

"Aw." I cooed

I wrapped her in a hug.

"Alright, we need to go get the stuff before Josh comes home." I said

"Then we need to hurry!" Cora yelled

The three of us spent the next hour buying the perfect items for the gift. Since we obviously didn't know if the baby was a boy or girl, we bought items that could be used for a boy and a girl.

"Okay, we'll leave so you can tell Josh when he comes home?" Hollie said

We just finished preparing the gift. I nodded and wrapped Hollie and Cora in a hug.

"I don't know what I'd do without you, Cora, Hollie." I said

"You'd probably crash and burn." Cora joked

I playfully rolled my eyes and chuckled.

"You're probably right." I said

I yawned and stretched my arms upward.

"I'm gonna take a nap before Josh comes home." I said

Cora and Hollie nodded and walked towards the front door.

"We'll probably call you tomorrow so you can tell us how he reacted." Cora said

"Sounds good. Love ya, girls." I said

"Love you too, Vale. Later!" Hollie and Cora said

They walked out the door and closed it behind them.

"I really hope Josh doesn't pass out when I tell him." I muttered to myself

I grabbed the gift bag and made my way upstairs. As soon as I walked into our bedroom, I hid the gift under the bed before crawling into it. I got comfy under the covers and placed a hand on my stomach.

"Mommy loves you." I whispered

I fell asleep, a smile on my face.

3rd POV

"Babe, I'm home!" Josh shouted

He walked into the house. When there was no answer, he yelled her name. Silence. He kicked off his shoes and ran upstairs, worried. He peeked his head into their bedroom and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw her sleeping peacefully. He tiptoed over towards her and kissed her cheek.

"Baby, wake up." Josh whispered

He kissed her cheek once more. Valentina's eyes fluttered opened and she instantly smiled when she laid her eyes on her boyfriend.

"Hey." Valentina said

"Hey you." Josh said

He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.

"How are you feeling?" Josh asked

He sat down on the bad and looked at his girlfriend.

"Much better, actually." Valentina said

A smile was on her face.

"Good." Josh said

He pecked her forehead.

"You probably had the stomach flu." Josh said

Valentina bit her lip, knowing that that wasn't the reason she was sick.

"Actually, I never had the stomach flu." Valentina said

Josh gave her a confused look.

"What do you mean? If you didn't have the stomach flu, then why you were puking your guts all day?" Josh asked

"Gee, that was a nice way to put it." Valentina deadpanned.

Josh smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry. But seriously, what made you sick?" Josh asked

"What I'm about to show you will explain everything." Valentina said

She reached under the bed and grabbed the gift bag.

"Here." Valentina said

She handed it to her boyfriend.

"What's this?" Josh asked

Amusement was evident in his voice.

"Just open it." Valentina said

She smiled, rolling her eyes. Josh reached down into the bag and pulled out the first item. A pacifier. He gave her a confused look but she motioned for him to keep looking through the bag. He reached down again and pulled out the second item. A teddy bear.

"Valentine, I'm really confused." Josh said.

"Take out the last item and you'll understand." Valentina said

He reached down and grabbed the final item. A baby footie.

"Are you trying to tell me what I think you're trying to tell me?" Josh whispered

His eyes were wide and Valentina nodded.

"Surprise. I'm pregnant." Valentina whispered

"Pregnant?" Josh repeated

A smile was on his face.

"Pregnant." Valentina confirmed

A smile was on her face. Suddenly, Valentina's lips were covered with Josh's. As soon as she confirmed that she was pregnant, Josh pounced. He was so happy and he honestly couldn't explain what he was feeling. He was going to have a baby with his girlfriend. The love of his life.

"So, I'm guessing you're happy?" Valentina teased

Josh pulled her onto his lap. He was now leaning against he headboard, his girlfriend leaning against his chest.

"Are you kidding? I'm ecstatic." Josh said

He rested his hands on her stomach. He lightly grazed her stomach with the tips of his fingers, sending chills down Valentina's spine. They sat in comfortable silence, just enjoying each other's company and letting the news sink in. They were going to have a baby. They were going to have a mini Josh and Valentina.

"Are we really going to be parents in nine months?" Josh asked, still in shock

Valentina nodded, burying her face in his shoulder.

"Yeah. We're going to be parents." Valentina said

"I'm praying that this isn't a dream." Josh said

Valentina switched her position on his lap so she was now straddling him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pecked his lips.

"I promise you that this is not a dream." Valentina said

He cupped her face and kissed her passionately.

"I love you so much." Josh said

His lips were hovering over hers as he spoke, but once he finished, he kissed her again.

"I love you, too." Valentina said

They re-situated themselves on the bed so they were no lying down. Valentina's head was on Josh's chest while he had his arms around her waist. They both placed a hand on her stomach and intertwined their fingers.

"So, were you surprised?" Valentina asked

"You have no idea." Josh said
