-------------------------
A week has passedβno sign of the participants.
Almond had doubted the message went through, so that's why he sent more than oneβthree in total. Sure they all had mistakes; it has been a while since he's used a telegraph.
He took a sip from his coffee cupβhow many did he have? Two or three?
It's only 9 in the morning.
The detective went over the recent filesβthree more had died. They never stated who, but Almond's heart sank every time the news mentioned them.
The next could be his daughterβor she would have already died by now.
He sighs and places the news article back in as he moves himself to his typewriter.
Almond hadn't figured out who was behind it, but he wants to find out now.
With another sigh, he stretches before pressing the keys on the typewriter.
The letters were often trashed because of mistakes, but after a while, he took the piece of paper out and folded it before placing it in an envelope.
The postal box wasn't too far from his apartment, so off he went.
He wasn't going to lose hopeβnot before he finds her daughter, and was safe.
