˗ˏˋ꒰ chapter ten: to the interview!꒱

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷LOID'S EYES NARROWED , as he stared straight forward into an indefinite point in the room. "alright it's time for battle." he said with all seriousness in his tone. you and anya stood straight looking into loid's blue eyes radiating his same aura.  

he blinked owlishly behind his glasses' lens. "equipment check." he murmured. you quickly lifted your hobo bag as you eyes crinkled a bit when you checked inside to see the items necessary. 

pen and notepad? yes. identification? yep! your mobile phone? obviously. few medications, sunscreen, a teensy compact first aid kit, sanitizing spray? yes. and few personal things like compact tampons, rosewater facial spray, hair tie... and..... smile? fuck yeah! 

you zipped close the bag and looked at loid with a nod. "all okay!" 

"fashion check?" he reminded. you combed your hair using your fingers gently, then dusted your neat ironed clothes and finally fixed anya's little tie which was a bit moved towards the side. you then walked towards loid and set his lapel of his blazer. 

"all okay!" you smiled. 

loid cleared his throat with pink cheeks and looked at anya. "final speech check?" he asked making anya stiffen and look up at him. "i'm good. i'll do my best." she assured you both. yes. it was finally the day you all waited for. after a lot of preparations, you three were ready. 

loid narrowed his eyes in suspicion. 'i got nothing buts doubts.' he internally let out an exhale putting on his hat on top of his head and opened the front door while picking up an umbrella from the corner. the forgers are fully prepared and head to the interview.

"onward.. to eden acadamy"

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷LOOKING AROUND THE BUILDING, you eyes widened as your lips parted forcing out a surprised gasp. "it's huge!" you tugged on loid's sleeve while he nodded. "well, it's one of the top schools in the country after all." 

but the moment you three enter the school yard, both loid and you feel like they are being watched. you looked around, not making it obvious but acting like you were trying to see the school ground. 

loid quickly figured out that instructors are observing them and the exam had already started. "the examiners are watching us." he said lowly making you smirk since you figured it out and you just need your clever husband to make sure your doubt. he instructs you and anya to act properly. 

from behind the glass, of one of the buildings the instructors are failing and passing people based on their elegance. the housemaster, henry henderson, is disappointed at this years candidates as all families lack true elegance.  

the master holds out his opera glasses and focused his gaze on the forgers who stopped walking and halted the steps near a statue. he hummed in curiosity and looked at them, watching their actions. 

you and loid made eye contact and looked at the bronze saluting— paying respect to the school founder statue. "e-elegant!" the master gasped as sweats rolled down his face. his eyes went wide. as he finds it... "very elegant!" 

he asked them who are they and the instructors tell him that's K-212, the Forgers, and barely passed the exam with 31 points, which henry doesn't find elegant at all as he grumbled. as loid had remarried, an instructor wonders if they are an impromptu family for admission purposes, but henry isn't certain and wants to investigate.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷YOUR FAMILY AND THOSE that pass, are send to hall 1, while the rest to hall 2. "i want to pick my booger." anya said scrunching her nose when your head snapped towards her slowly. "don't you dare." both you and loid said together. 

on your way you three shout a loud shout. "boo hoo! oh no... i slipped by accident and got stuck in the gutter!" a boy cried when you three saw him who had really fallen into the gutter and requests help to get out. 

you let out a bored huff seeing his acting knowing what is behind those shouts. meanwhile a certain blond realizes its an obvious test and decides to deal with the situation. he gives anya a signal, anya gets the hint and pointed her fingers towards the boy. 

"mama papa!" she called out. "somebody is in trouble. we help!" she acknowledged. you hummed and made your way towards the boy and crouched down. "you alright there kid?" you asked. 

's-she's so pretty, but she's older than me' the boy thought looking at your facial features. anya's eye twitched at his thoughts. "how do I grow up faster?" he mumbled under his breath making you let out a confused hum. 

"huh!" 

he realized what he thought and struggled in the dirty water asking for help. 'i could just lift him up using my ability but no.' you gulped. the boy is made to do this for merits and henry states that anyone who is going for an interview, won't dare to sully their clothes. 

however loid steps into the sewage and pulls out the boy like a damn cloth in the air, ruining his own clothes. he asked if the boy was alright and anya lend him her handkerchief. henry is shocked, but disappointed, telling the instructors to fail them. 

the boy was feeling guilty about the family failing because of him. when he was about to apologise, you interrupted him. "it's okay since we bought extra clothes!" you smiled with red cheeks fixing loid's tie. he wore one of the suit you gifted him. 

 however, the master is shocked to see that the forgers anticipated something like this and had prepared change of clothes just in case. as they feel loid looks better in the new clothes.

 loid thanks the boy for giving him a reason to change clothes, causing henry to be moved of how brilliant and elegant that was. the instructors state they should be testing the child, but Henry states that children learn from their parents, so he must expose that Loid is also worth 30 points.

"and baby..." you looked into the boy's eyes making shivers run down his spine. your eyes flashed a cunning look with a sly smile watching the master from the corner of your eyes.
 

you mouthed to him.
