𝑰𝑵 𝑾𝑯𝑰𝑪𝑯

In which Indira Seth was born with death at her fingertips and the burden of knowing who would never see tomorrow. As a child, she tried to outrun it, to silence the whispers of fading heartbeats and shadowed endings. But some truths refuse to be ignored. And when she returns to Metropolis, standing once more in Clark Kent's life, she wonders—had she always sensed the inevitable between them, or was she just too afraid to see it?. . .

𝑰𝑵 𝑾𝑯𝑰𝑪𝑯

In which Indira Seth never truly outran the souls of Smallville, nor the boy who once held her heart in quiet hands. He was the quiet hero she believed in, even before the world knew who he truly was. Years later, in Metropolis, Clark Kent belongs to another, and she has long perfected the art of pretending she doesn't care. But some loves never truly fade, and some stories never find their proper ending—only pages left unwritten, waiting for a hand to write its ending . . .

ooo. Indira Seth had always known death in ways others couldn't imagine. It was more than the quiet stillness that followed loss, more than the grief that seeped into the soul. It was the eerie sense of inevitability that hung in the air whenever she walked into a room. Since childhood, she had been able to feel the pulse of life around her—faint, fragile, and fleeting.

ooo. She could sense the end of things with a simple touch, and though these gifts have been both a curse and a blessing.  For her, the world had always been a place of waiting—waiting for the moment when everything would fall apart, where everyone would die and she would become alone again. They've made it impossible for her to truly connect with anyone, to let anyone in. It was almost impossible.

ooo. That was before Clark Kent entered her life and changed everything. He was the boy who made her forget about the shadow of death that always loomed around her, even if only for a fleeting moment. Ever since they'd met in the field, when Indira had followed a butterfly and ran straight into Clark, the latter turning shyly towards her, he was a quiet stability, a promise of something she could never fully grasp, yet longed for.

ooo. But in the end, Clark Kent was a love that never fully bloomed, a love he never shared with her, that love was for Lois Lane, and when they parted ways, Clark stayed behind, growing into the man he was meant to be—a hero in Smallville, and later in Metropolis. Indira, feeling the grasp of insanity, fled to the city in search of a new life, leaving behind the town who'd turned her insane. Yet, even in Metropolis, where the noise of the city drowned out her thoughts, she never fully outran that feeling.

ooo. She had spent years burying the ghosts of Smallville. Yet, no matter how far she ran, no matter how many times she tried to shut that door, Clark Kent reappeared as if summoned by fate itself. The moment she saw him again, standing across the room like a beacon, every muscle in her body froze. Indira had found him a different man, standing beside Lois Lane, and something inside her cracked. She had long buried the girl who loved him. And she didn't want her back.

ooo. She never quite understood why, but death lingered just a breath away, a shadow trailing her every step. It was as if the universe had drawn a line through her, separating her from the world of the living, forever tethered to the dark unknown. She could hear it in their voices, feel it in their touch, the weight of something inevitable pressing against her skin. As a child, she tried to ignore it, to pretend she was normal, but death was never far behind

ooo.  Indira Seth has always lived in the presence of death

and in the end, she always will.
