sunghoon grunted as he sat on the empty seat beside heeseung. monday mornings suck.

he opened his backpack, taking out the sweater that sunoo's friend has left back in the resort. jake, i think? he seems kind of nice but weird at the same time.

"oh, isn't that jake's sweater?" heeseung noticed, pointing at the piece of clothing.

he looked at his friend. "how did you know?"

the boy just shrugged. "i remember. photographic memory works everytime."

"that's great then," sunghoon handed him the sweater. "here, return this to him."

"why would i? you do it. or better yet, you can give it to sunoo. you two have a date later right?"

ah. about that. "i won't see him later. he has an important business to do, so we cancelled."

which is fine. but the thing is, i feel like sunoo is avoiding me. was i too much? did i give him too much pressure because of my confession?

he sighed. maybe i shouldn't have told him about my feelings.

"hey, don't think too much about it. sunoo probably has personal problems to deal with. just be patient with him." heeseung pat his shoulder, then taking the sweater from his hands.

"i'll return this to jake. happy now?"

he gave him a thumbs up as a reply. "thanks hee."

geonu was busy munching on his sandwich when he saw someone familiar approaching him. oh? he's coming towards here? that's a first.

"do you need anything?" geonu eyed the guy from head to toe. how is he so tall? i'm envious.

heeseung's brow furrowed. "uh, no. where's your friend?"

"friend? who? i have lots of friends, so please be specific." he smiled, trying to be nice.

"jake. do you know where he is?"

jake? are they close?

he raised an eyebrow. "jake's busy and unavailable as of the moment."

heeseung nodded. "okay then." he sighed and handed a sweater in front of him. "here, he left it back at the resort."

"oh, okay. thank you," geonu took the sweater and put it inside his backpack.

heeseung was about to leave when the boy held his arm, stopping him.

"i have a question."

"okay. go ask now because i still have things to—"

"are you single?" heeseung stopped speaking when he heard the question. he's asking me what now?

"i'm sorry, what?"

geonu is just grinning, waiting for an answer. "i said, are you single? it's just a yes or no question."

he was staring too long that heeseung was feeling kind of annoyed already, so he avoided his stare.

"the fuck? that's none of your business." he hurriedly went outside of the cafeteria, not looking back.

geonu laughed while looking at heeseung's back. what a cute reaction. this is gonna be fun. he doesn't like smart guys, but that one might just be an exception. he's not bad.

he went back to eating when he remembered something. how did jake even forgot his clothes? i even remember him getting out of the cabin to get his sweater. weird.

"bitch, catch this," jake was taken aback when geonu suddenly threw the sweater on his face.

"thanks, i really appreciate it." his voice full of sarcasm as he removed the piece of clothing off his face.

"by the way, who gave this to you?"

geonu glanced at him. "heeseung did."

"heeseung? oh okay." jake nodded.

he thought sunghoon was the one who got his sweater, but he guessed that the boy didn't see it. i'm thankful though. what happened last time was embarrassing, i don't think i can face him again.

"why? is something wrong?" his friend asked. he just shook his head as a reply.

"ah by the way, do you want to go shopping with me after class? i wanna buy new shoes." geonu exclaimed.

"i can't. it's monday, family dinner." geonu rolled his eyes at jake's response.

"can't you ditch it?"

jake grimaced. "nope. i don't think my father would like that."

his parents are not strict, but at the same time, they're not too lenient when it comes to their children's mistakes. as the youngest of his family, jake doesn't want to disappoint his parents in everything that he does.

in the eyes of other people, sim jaeyun is the perfect child every parent would want to have.

jake's heading to the parking lot, humming as he swings his car key on his hands. he's almost near his car when he saw sunghoon, leaning on the wall behind the cars.

jungwon said that sunoo and sunghoon have a date, and sunoo left the class in a hurry earlier. so why is he still here?

jake shakes the thought out of his head. again, it's not my business. plus, i don't want him to see me. he bit his lower lip as he opened the door of his car.

but i'm curious. jake contemplates. should i ask?

before he could even think, sunghoon's already in front of him—wearing the same blank expression on his face.

"jake?" he manage to give sunghoon a little smile.

"hey," he mumbled.

the guy put his hands inside the pockets of his jeans. "did heeseung return your sweater?"

"oh!" so it wasn't heeseung, it was him. "yep, thank you for that."

they stood silently in front of his car for seconds, before jake talked again. "are you waiting for sunoo?"

sunghoon shakes his head. "no."

"huh? what about your date?"

"we'll do that another time, i guess. anyways, i'll go ahead."

jake's eyes widened a little bit when sunghoon smiled at him before going out of the parking lot.

he smiled. jake thought.

he smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes.
