WITHOUT YOU, chapter thirty two

❝promise me it's not you❞

Odette ran to Xaviers shed in a hurry to get an answer, her mind was racing and all she could think about was Eli. 

When she walked in, she slammed the door to make herself known, her hair was messy from the run and she was puffed out, Xavier on the other hand looked collected, his hair was slick and in a bun and he looked comfortable as he painted.

"Promise me it's not you" Odette said as she walked further into Xaviers shed "what?" he asked "promise me you aren't the monster, promise me you haven't been using me, promise me you weren't the guy who killed my best friend!" she let out and Xavier walked forward to her

"I promise" he said, placing his hands on her shoulders "Wednesday said-" "who cares about Wednesday said"

"She thinks it's you Xavier" she said and he looked down "I know" he told her before sitting down "It's not me Odette you know this" 

"I know but-"

"but?!" Xavier interrupted her "do you actually think I'm the monster?" he asked, looking at the girl for an answer which she looked to the ground "I didn't kill anyone Odie" he said walking forward but the girl stood back.

"how do I know your not lying" Odette said and Xavier scoffed "I know me and Wednesday are fighting but I trust her ── I really trust her"

"and you don't trust me?" 

Xaviers voice was quiet and it broke Odette's heart. 

Odette looked up to him with pity "I want to" she admitted and the boy walked away "but you can't because you think I'm the killer" he shrugged "because your bestfriend Wednesday who almost got you killed may I add told you she had a hunch it was me!" 

Odette looked to the floor, they've been here before.

Her and him, in his shed fighting about something.

And she walked away.

But the situations different and the justice of finding her bestfriends murderer was on the line. 

"If I was the killer-"

"stop Xavier, if you are the monster it's clear you're not going to tell me now, just like if you aren't your going to tell me your not the killer" Odette said before stepping away "I'm sorry if you're not but I-" 

"I'm not"

"You could be!"

"Why can't you trust me?" Xavier yelled and Odette looked away "I don't know" she answered "all I see when I think of the monster is Eli's dead body on my lap, his blood covering me, his face unharmed but his body ripped apart" she said 

"So I do trust you Xavier, I just can't look at you"

Xavier looked at Odette with tears in his eyes "you have to leave then" he said 

"yeah I have to leave" Odette agreed before the two of them just stared at each other, not moving.

"I'm sorry" she whispered before walking out of the shed and back to the school. 

When she walked back she went into Ophelia hall and into her dorm where she saw Enid. 

"Odie" she sighed before tackling her friend in a hug "It can't be him Enid, please don't be him" Odette softly cried into her friends chest. 

"It's all going to be okay Odie" she said, running her fingers through her hair

"I missed you"

"I missed you too"

Later during the night Wednesday walked in as the two were unpacking Enid's bags. "You're back" she said staring at the two. 

"We're gone for a few days, the place gets trashed, and Thing almost died" Enid said "somebody's gotta look after you two" Odette said as she placed a plushie down on her pile.

"What happened to rooming with Yoko?" Wednesday asked "Yoko's great I just decided I needed a few more boundaries ── tape?"

"skip the tape" Wednesday said and the two girls smiled "she's a changed woman" Odette smirks, placing the tape down and back into the bag.

"Don't tell me Wednesday Addams is mellowing out"

"Never"

"She's just evolving" Odette said 

"Why the sudden change of heart?" Wednesday asked "because we work, we shouldn't but we do. It's like some weird, friendship anomaly" Enid explained 

"Thing said he missed you two"

"Not gonna lie I missed him too" Odette said as she thought about how Thing would always pass her pencils and pens for special parts of her homework.

Enid sighed before grabbing Odette's hand "I'm sorry about Xavier" she said and Odette squeezed her hand "he's a liar and a killer and I'm sorry you had to go through that Odette" 

Odette looked at Wednesday before nodding at her "I just need to process it" she smiled politely but they all knew it was fake. 

"bring back the lighter mood" Odette teased before turning to Wednesday "Thing may have blabbed about your date with Tyler, how'd it go?" 

"It was interrupted"

"boo" Odette whined before Enid continued on "Well I heard Tylers taking the night shift, you should go and surprise him"

"just make sure he's not a killer" Odette perked up before Wednesday and Enid both turned their heads to them 

"too soon?" 

sorry about the shortness but there was not much material 

ik Odette's feelings are confusing but yours would be too if you were in her position

but Odette may be the number one Tyler Anti next episode 

but next chapters are the last episode which will be hard to write because I want to fit her into scenes without taking away Wednesdays power development scenes.
