NICK'S AND ELISA'S ALBUMS WERE BEING BROUGHT BY EVERYONE. People loved their albums and some of the songs that the two wrote, they sung together while some of the songs they sung separately. Either way, people were loving their albums and to the two kids, it felt amazing to be able to live their dream.
A bolt of lightning lit up the sky as it streaked down from heavens. Some would say that it was majestic. Others would say it was beautiful. Still others would say it was indescribable. But to one little boy, immediately sat up in his sleeping bag at the loud bang of lightning and thunder, it was none of those. It was terrifying!
Nick sat in his sleeping bag underneath the pillow fort that he, his brothers, and Elisa had made in her bedroom before dragging their sleeping bags in for the night, shivering. He wasn't shaking from the cold, he was shaking from fright. Nick never did like thunderstorms, they always scared him. Usually, he'd have his older brothers and Elisa for comfort but, he really didn't feel like waking them up just for that.
Nick jumped as a streak of lighting came down and a loud bang followed closely behind it. He shook from fright as he quietly crawled out from the pillow fort and just as another loud bang went off followed by lightning, he quickly went straight to the corner and huddled himself, burying his head in his knees. Another loud bang sounded caused him to jump and nearly let out a scream, but he quickly covered his mouth with his hands, not wanting to wake them up.
Unknown to him, Elisa had sat up immediately in her sleeping bag. Something woke her up and she didn't know what it was. She looked to her left and saw Joe and Kevin asleep in their sleeping bags. When another loud bang of thunder went off, her green eyes widened as she snapped her head to the right only to find that Nick wasn't there.
Quickly, she crawled out from the pillow fort and spotted Nick in the corner. She went over to him and pulled him in a hug as she began to cradle him and hum softly as she rubbed his back, letting him collapse in her arms as he shook from fear and tears stream down his face. Whenever it was Joe, Kevin, Nick or even all three of them upset, Elisa was very quick to become protective and motherly; she'd bring them into her arms for a hug and cradle them as if they were only a baby.
"It's okay, Nicky. I'm here," Elisa said, holding Nick in her arms and gently cradling him. His sobs continued as another loud bang was heard. Elisa felt him shaking from fear and pulled him closer to her, gently rocking him in her arms.
At the same loud bang of thunder, both Joe and Kevin shot up in their sleeping bags. When they saw that Elisa and Nick weren't in the pillow fort, they crawled out from the pillow fort and found Elisa holding their little brother in her arms, cradling him and comforting him from the storm that was going on.
Joe and Kevin were quick to realize what happened and quickly went over to the two. The four of them sat in the corner as Kevin, Joe, and Elisa comforted Nick from the storm. The thunder grew louder and louder while the rain continued to hammered the window and ground as hard as it could. As the oldest of the four, Kevin had his arms around them, making a promise to himself that he'll always make sure that they were safe.
The loudest bang of thunder, followed by lightning went off, startling all four of them this time. Nick tried to calm down but every time he did, there was a loud bang of thunder that made him scared.
Thunder scattered across the sky and lightning lit up the black sky.
Even though the storm was only getting worse and worse, the four of them knew that they couldn't stay in the corner the whole night. Elisa continued to hold Nick in her arms as she mentioned for Kevin and Joe to get some extra blankets from her closest and to bring them to the pillow fort; that way, the four of them could sit on something softer and not the hard wooden floor.
Joe and Kevin nodded as they headed towards her closet, grabbing some extra blankets and brought them to the pillow fort where they crawled back in to pull the sleeping bags out then placing one of the blankets on the ground and making it so it covered the floor within their pillow fort. Once it was done, they helped Elisa bring Nick to the pillow fort where the four of them sat on top of the blanket, hugging Nick as the storm continued to rage on outside the house.
"Why am I so stupid?" Nick mumbled to himself, only for his brothers and Elisa to hear him. He didn't move from his spot in Elisa's arms as she held him.
"Nick, you're not stupid. Everyone gets scared," Joe said. "Even we do,"
"And we're here to help you," Elisa added.
Another loud crack of thunder with lightning following was heard, startling Nick once again as they felt him shake. The storm didn't sound like it was ending anytime soon.
"Why aren't you guys scared of the storms?" Nick suddenly asked.
"I don't know, they just don't scare us. But there's still other things that we're scared of," Kevin said, just as another unexpected loudest crack of thunder and lightning went off, making the four of them jump again. "But this one is different,"
"It is?"
"Honestly, this is probably the worst storm we've had," Joe said in agreement. "I'm sure we're all scared of this one."
Another crack of thunder went off as the four of them were slowly starting to doze off to sleep, not being able to keep their eyes open. Thunder and lightning continued to go on as rain kept pouring down from the sky. Lightning flashed and loud bang of thunder went off as Elisa slightly felt Nick stiffen and jump from fright; without thinking, she kissed his forehead, making both of their hearts flutter.
Joe and Kevin smirked, making Nick's and Elisa's faces turn red as Elisa playfully stuck her tongue out at them before they all giggle. They found themselves drifting off to sleep, despite the raging storm that roared outside.
The next morning, Emma and Luke went up to their little sister's room to get them for breakfast. Opening the door, they found four empty sleeping beds outside of the pillow fort. Both Luke and Emma peeked their heads into the pillow fort only to find the four of them fast asleep: Nick and Elisa were in the middle, with Joe and Kevin on either side, with their arms wrapped around the two youngest kids of the four protectively. Quietly without waking them up, Emma and Luke tiptoed out of the room and Emma closed the door behind them, not making a sound before the two of them went to tell their parents the cute sight they found.
There may have been a thunderstorm going on last night, but Nick had his brothers and Elisa by his side as always.
