I ended up staying with Lorna, with her news about the baby.
Dawn's skin was going off-color, which is a condition where the skin doesn't take enough light.
Dawn had been on therapy but nothing has been working for us, it had me worried sick, for both Polaris and the baby.
"Is this a joke? You want to bring Marco here?" Sophie scoffs at Lorna.
"My baby is sick," defenses the mother, "The doctor says she might die without him. Does that sound like a joke to you?"
"Well, there are better options than exposing our operation," Phoebe suggested.
"And what exactly are those options? I'm sorry I missed your graduation from med school."
"Lorna, we all want what's best for the baby, but..." Esme spoke.
"She's barely eating. She's sleeping too much. If the machines don't work..."
"Well, then we'll get more machines. It's not like we're hurting for recourse," Sophie exclaims, turning to the doctor, "You can't deal with this?"
"I've done everything I can think of," The doctor answers, "This is the worst case of jaundice I've seen and normal light therapy isn't working. Given the nature of the father's powers, he could be the solution."
"Well, perhaps we need another doctor," snaps one of the Frosts.
"We don't have time to sit around and argue," Lorna sighs, "Marcos is the answer."
"Lorna's right."
We all turn to see Reeva standing in the doorway.
"The child needs her father. Get him."
As the mission was continuing, with the search for Marcos, both Lorna and I were in her room, just hoping for Dawn to hold on, for just a little while.
A knock came on the door, which I opened.
"Hey."
I gave a small smile to Andy, letting him come in, which he was hesitant to do when hearing the weak 'Hi' from the green-haired woman.
"How's it going?"
I nudge him a little to do better, it was obvious that Lorna was upset and desperate for her baby.
I knew Andy was bad in situations like this, he doesn't know what to say or think.
"I heard Marcos is coming."
We all turned to see Jack, leaning by the doorway, with a sympathizer look to him.
"They're out looking for him now," informs the woman, "I thought you would be on the case, Jack."
"I was, but Reeva pulled me out last minute. If they take a while, I'll go back on," He explains.
"Listen, are you sure that's the best idea?" Andy asked, "I mean, 'cause I know you and I talking about moving on..."
"It's for Dawn." She turns to us. "Okay, nothing's working. We have to try."
"Do you really want to be here when he comes?"
"I'm not leaving her."
"But you know it's just gonna make it harder."
"Of course. But I would do anything to save my daughter. I can handle a few minutes in a room with Marcos."
Andy and I stepped forward, looking to Dawn, with my heart dropping for seeing her in such a weak state.
"D-Do you think she is one of us?" I spoke.
"We won't know for sure until she's old enough to manifest," Lorna answers, "But I know she's a fighter."
"What I mean is, would you want her to be one of us?"
This stumped the woman.
Of course, it would be nice to have Dawn as a mutant, but being a mutant means dealing with the repercussions of being a mutant.
Though having Dawn being a normal human, it wouldn't be all bad, but either way, that didn't matter.
What mattered was that Dawn is going to be cared for and loved, which is what Lorna is giving to her already.

Lorna and the baby needed time alone, so as Jack left to his lonesome, Andy and I were in his room.
I was reading a book, while the boy was playing video games in front of me.
There was a knock at his doorway, which turned out to be Reeva.
"A moment, Andy, Lux?"
The two of us dropped what we were doing, to talk to the woman, all ears.
"Kind of a big day to be playing games and reading books, don't you think?"
"Well, they told us Marcos was coming, so we figured to stay in here," Andy says.
"We would just be in the way of them, besides its none of our business," I clarify.
"Actually... I want you two by my side for his visit," confessed the woman.
"Us?" We both said, in sync.
"Don't you what, like, a security team?"
"Yeah, I'm sure Jack will be able to give you more protection from Marcos if anything turns bad."
Both the Strucker boy and I excused.
"No, I think it should be you two."
He stutters, "Yeah, i-it's that... Marcos and... me... We were all friends."
"Exactly," Reeva explains, "Anyone can stand up to an enemy, like Jack. But what happens when you care about someone? When you've fought and sacrificed with them?"
I gulp at the answer.
It would be much hard for Marcos to fight us if it does turn out badly.
I didn't want any part of this.
I was only involved for support to Lorna, but I didn't want to be involved in this situation where I am not apart of.
"I need people who are gonna be strung enough to stand up to Uber friends. I can count on you two?"
"Yeah, definitely," answers the Strucker.
"Yes, you can," I nod.
After Reeva left, I groan quietly, laying on Andy's bed.
"What's the matter?"
I turn to Andy, who sat right next to me, putting the hair that was in my face, behind my ear.
"I-I don't want to fight Marcos," I admit, "I know it's for Dawn, but... we shouldn't be fighting something that we aren't apart of."
"Hey, hey," He reassured me, "It will only be for a minute β in and out. Besides, Marcos wouldn't hurt us, he was our friend, and I know he still cares about us."
I still had a feeling of unsteadiness.
I had a deep feeling that something will go wrong.
I only had to ignore it, putting on a brave face, for Lorna and Dawn.

The hour came.
We all came, with Andy and I both on Reeva's side, all prepared as Marcos was seated down with a blindfold on his head but not tied.
When Phoebe removed the blindfold, Marcos looked straight up to Reeva, who spoke.
"Sorry for the unpleasantness, Mr. Diaz. We had to take precautions. I'm sure you understand. I'm Reeva. I believe you've met everyone else."
"Where's Lorna? They said something's wrong with my baby," Marco says, in a panic.
"Your child has been diagnosed with a severe case of jaundice. Now, normally, this is easily treatable, but this case has been... stubborn."
"Where are they?"
"First you must understand: you are a guest here. We expect that you willββ"
"I don't care what you expect," Marco interrupts, "My kid is sick. What are we wasting our time for?"
"When you see Lorna, your only conversation will be about the child," Reeva instructs.
"Is this chick for real? Andy?" Marcos looks to the boy.
"Marcos, bro, just listen to her," The Strucker warns.
"We didn't have to bring you here," I comment.
"Oh, I see how it is."
"Just be glad you're here," I snap.
Reeva continues, "You will help the baby. And then you will leave."
After going through the rules and all, we all go in with Marcos, to see what he can do with Dawn, as only the triplets and I stand a distance from Lorna's room.
"Thanks for coming," Lorna spoke.
"Yeah. You okay?" Marcos asked, quite shocked and speechless on what to say.
"I'm fine."
"You know that we've been out looking for youββ"
"Please. Don't make this harder than it needs to be," warns Lorna, "You're here for Dawn."
"Dawn?" Marcos looks to the glass case of UV lights, seeing his baby girl. "Yh, you know, in Spanish..."
"Her name would be Aurora."
My heart broke for Marcos already.
It was sad that this is the circumstance that he sees the baby for the first time, it's not fair, at all.
"I believe you've been told about the baby's conditions," The doctor tells Marcos, "We've been trying to find the right frequency for the light therapy, butββ"
"Please, just... just give her to me," says the man.
He gasped as he was finally able to hold his girl. "H-Hey, kiddo. Oh, she's so beautiful."
With his abilities, Marcos unleashed a gentle glowing light at the palm of his hands, letting Dawn embrace her father's light.
The light then dims, with the doctor check on the baby, while the Latino man whispers to his daughter in Spanish, so that only she could 'know' and no one else.
"Bilirubin levels are back to normal," The doctor announces, "We can take it from here."
Of course, Marcos wasn't willing to give up the time he has for her child.
"Uh, shouldn't... shouldn't we checkββ"
"I said, we can take it from here. Mr. Diaz, please."
"Thank you," Lorna sighs, out of relief from her kid.
"I-I, um... I made this for her," Marcos says, "Kept it with me."
Lorna took the made tool, which was a metal baby raffle for Dawn.
"When you left, in Nashville, I-I didn't want anyone to get hurt, so I let you go. I was wrong. I should have figured out another way to..."
I couldn't stay in the room, so I left, going to Reeva and Andy.
"Did it work?" Andy gets up from his seat.
"He did it," I smile, "Dawn is back to normal."
"Well, that is certainly good to hear," Reeva nods her head.
All of a sudden, yells and screams were heard, having the three of us go and check it out.
We all went to the lobby, seeing Marcos with his abilities, with no triplets.
"Lux, Andy, get back," He sneers.
There was no hesitation to see Reeva use her abilities on Marcos, slowly turning off his power, as his hands were glowing, but no action.
Both Andy and I stare in shock at Reeva's abilities, I could've squirmed in my own skin from who disturbing was her ability.
It got so bad, that Marcos' arm was glowing like lava as if it was plugged and boiling his arm.
He screams as he hits the wall, with no power over Reeva, as she walks to him.
"Are we done?" The woman says, "Andrew, Lux, help your friend to the door."
Before the two of us could do anything, Diaz stumped down to the floor, unconscious.
"Crap," I mutter.
β β β
I was in total darkness, once again.
I groan when hearing the sound of footsteps coming in my direction came.
"Enjoying life."
"Simone, should've known," I growl, "Is this another dream that had a 'message' at the end?"
"Actually, no. You see this generation is a tricky one..."
"Here we go... back to this power stuff."
The man looks at me, raising a brow. "You don't believe this is real?"
I scoff, "All of this is bull. Jack has been experiencing the same growth in power as I am, it's not your 'chosen' Mycroft."
Simone chuckles, "For such a bright girl, you can certainly be the dullest tool in the shed."
"For a dead man, you seem quite alive in my dreams, so here we are."
"Lux... don't you want power? Don't you want to be the best of the best?"
"I always believe too much power will lead you down the wrong path."
"There is no such thing as good and evil, you can be one for example."
"How is that?"
"Well, in many people, you are on the wrong side. Doesn't that make you evil?"
"Noββ"
"Surely, in the right perspective."
"Okay, we get it. There's no good or evil, only powerββ"
"What about your beau? Andy von Strucker, am I correct?"
I automatically snap out of my fun state. "What about Andy?"
"Is he good?"
"Of course, he is."
"Then tell me, do good people have blood on their hands? Destroy buildings? Because he did, back at the Underground Headquarters."
"We needed to escape, his intentions were goodββ"
"But he killed those mutants, who were there against their will," The man smirks, "You see, good and evilββ"
"What are you getting on about? I get it, good and evil is some sort of construct created by humans, I know. Why are you here and why are you letting me this?" I frown, "If you're here because I'm the chosen Mycroft, I want no partββ"
"Believe me, Lux. You will come to that conclusion in time, but for now, I am here for your future."
"My future? You can see my future?"
"I'm no fortune teller, I only say this out of whispers of the afterlife and what I know. Lux, you need to strong, not for me, but yourself. Something will come in your life and is possible to come and harm you."
"What? Of should I say, who?"
"I don't know, but you must believe my intentions."
"And that is?"
"I want your protection. Sure, you are the strongest in your generation, and compared to Jack, you are barely enough to beat him."
He looks worried and concerned.
I couldn't tell if this was an act or real.
It would make sense to warn me for my protection, so I can be strong, but what if it was a trick? I would play directly in his hand.
Then again, why bring up power? Good and evil?
"I don't understand what you are doing?" I scoff, "You bring up power, light and dark, and then my protection..."
In my head, I thought of a theory, a theory that makes Simone grin.
"You are wanting me to grow strong for my protection, because the event that will possibly come, is something that will question my intellect of good and bad, that can equally destroy your dream of me becoming the strongest Mycroft."
Simone chuckled, "I always liked you, compared to your brother. Your cleverness truly amazes me."
My eyes opened, as my body awoke. I breathe deeply as my own thoughts race.
Was Simone even telling me the truth?
Is my life going to be at risk?
I quickly turn my head, seeing Andy, sleeping undisturbed.
Sighing, I lay back down, looking to him, gently pushing the hair out of his face.
He was good.
He did what he had to do, back at the Underground, for all of us.
And I was good, as well.
Jack and I had to kill those men because they were going to kill and capture us.
Both Andy and I would never choose genocide for stupid fun, we are not monsters... but we did have blood on our hands.
I began to question, could a person of good still be good, when they have killed?
