unMoored

It had been a few days since Andy's nightmare, and already, he was acting differently.
He would daydream and space out a lot. His lack of fatigue showed and his movements were slow. He wouldn't talk as much anymore, only speak when he was asked to.
Late last night, I was grabbing a glass of water, and as I was about to get back to my room, I heard a tv play in Andy's room.
I looked into the tiny crack in Andy's bedroom door, to see him just play his game at this ungodly time.
I was though caught by the door opening as my body slightly pressed against the door, the von Strucker turned his head toward my direction, stopping his game as he realized it was me.
"Lux? What is it? What's up?" He asked me.
"I was just grabbing some water. What are you doing? It's like 3 in the morning," I say to him.
"Couldn't sleep much."
I gave him a soft smile, coming into his room and shutting off the game and tv. "You're sleeping in my room, come on."
He didn't seen to care by him freely holding y hand as I guide him to my room.
As I drank my water, Andy was quick to slide into my bed, almost ready to just sleep automatically.
I set my glass down and climbed into bed, with my boyfriend wrapping his hands around my waist.
I gently pushed his hair out of his face. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah," He hums, "I just have a lot on my mind, is all."
I didn't want to pry so I stayed silent, as I slowly fell into unconsciousness, I didn't notice that Andy had remained wide awake, play with my hair, as he stares at the blank ceiling above us.

It was morning and today was Andy and mine's training.
I watched as the von Strucker tried to make our coffee, as he was yawning and not realizing that the coffee was overflowing his espresso.
"Ugh, you should rethink that career as a barista," Lorna says, coming in and fixing the coffee for the boy. "I thought looking exhausted was my job."
"I didn't sleep much," Andy grumbled, handing over my sweeten coffee. "I stayed up."
"You sure you're okay to train?" The woman asked him, "Reeva takes this stuff pretty seriously."
"No, I'm cool. I-I'll be fine."
As Andy walks away, Lorna pulled me over to the side.
"Are you sure your man is good?"
"I don't know what's up with him," I tell her, "All I know is that he's been getting this nightmare; He won't tell me about it."
The green-haired woman only nodded her head, as I make my way to the training room, where I would be watching Andy, with Reeva and Paige.
After Andy it was my turn, so as Andy was doing his training, I was getting ready by drinking my coffee and dressing into the clothing Reeva made for us.
When the door opened for me to walk in, I saw Andy walked past me, not stopping for a second, in total anger and pain.
"Andyββ"
"Lux," Reeva spoke on the intercom.
I cursed myself out, as I walked into the training room, rather than run to see if Andy was okay.
I stood in the middle of the room, as moving targets circled me.
"Lux," Reeva explained, "These moving targets will be charging to you. There would be three levels, each becoming harder than the last. I want you to freeze them to stop."
I nodded my head.
The targets around me soon engulfed into flames, which made my ice in the ball of my palms go bold.
I heard the timer chime down from three to one when the time clicked to the last second, the targets had moved.
Two came toward me, which I had iced with ease.
The other three came easy, as I just made ice freeze the ground and have it climb up to the targets, fast, freezing them in place.
I felt my eye glow with power, seeing a whole new set of targets coming in, this time they had arms sticking out of them.
I had to bend my body as two come toward me, with the stick connecting to try and trap me.
I dip back to limbo it, shooting my ice at the back of them down.
Another two came at me, this time from opposite sides, I shoot a power stride at my ice toward them, also seeing that the last one was coming at me while I was busy.
I was quick to use my foot, kicking it upward, making a nice ice wave to knock the target down.
When I was done with the two, I push the ice wave down onto the target, breaking and stopping the flame.
It was the final target, I thought it would be like the last, but it wasn't.
This time, it was just one giant target, with wooden sticks all over is the body and small shooting flames at the bottom of him.
I narrowed my eyes as he charged at me, I held my breath as I swoop my hands up, roughly, to have my ice carry the machined target and icing him in the air, fully.
I smiled at my accomplishment, looking toward the big window, that Reeva and Paige were watching over.
"Good job. Now I want you to melt the ice yourself," Reeva orders me.
My heart pounded when hearing her command.
Reversing my abilities was something I could do, but poorly.
I took a deep breath as I tried and get my ice to melt.
The ice was faster to move, some of the bigger ice had to slop into tiny icicles and engrave into my skin, as my body absorbs it into my body vessels.
The thing about it is that my body can't handle big amounts of ice.
My throat seemed to choke on me, as I feel my body start to get heavier and colder as it all melts away.
I was halfway done, but my body already wanted me to stop.
My muscles aches, it felt like my actual blood was freezing itself, and my skin color was almost turning into pale blue and white.
I felt as if I was freezing my own body, away.
That was when I couldn't happen anymore, I dropped to my knees, making tiny ice sticking up to the ground around me.
I looked upon heavy panting to see that the huge target in the air had fallen down to the ground from lack of balance.
My eyes race to Reeva, as I watch her stone face remained stoned.
"You may leave, Lux."
I had to force my body out of the room, with my grounding to the ground as I barely made it just a few steps out of the door.
I took deep breaths in and down, watching as my ice breath became visible in trying to balance the ice with my body.
I closed my eyes and just let my bodywork to keep me from freezing on the inside.
I must've laid on the floor for a bit, seeing my brother in training clothing squat down to me.
"You good, sis?"
"I think Reeva's trying to kill me," I joke to him.
He chuckles, lending his hand or me, which I take.
"Jesus, you're colder than usual," He comments, pulling me up to my two feet.
"Well, that's what I get from using my abilities for a while."
Before I could walk out the door, Jack asked me, "Do you want to hang out for lunch today?"
I nodded my head toward him, as I watch him walk out the door start with his day of training.

It was safe to say Andy's training was a failure, or from what I heard from everyone around.
Seeing from his storming out of practice, I thought him blowing off steam with being the best for him.
It soon became lunch and Jack and I walked to the lunchroom, where it was just used.
I stare at the window beside us, looking at the small people and buildings below us.
"What's on your mind?" My brother asked me.
I shake my head, turning my attention to him. "Nothing. Nothing, why?"
He played with his fork, saying, "Have you recently felt... more powerful? Like, you're powers have this sort of boost that you never had?"
I was about to call him crazy but the more I thought about myself, the more I agreed with him.
I have felt my power has gotten stronger and bolder.
All through training - through the first and second level - it was like I could take down anything with ease.
"Yes, but it's most likely the training we have," I reason, "The only actual training I had from the Underground was with Lorna.
"You're probably right."
Deep down, I have my suspicions that are was Simone, but how could that be?
Simone was far dead, it had to be impossible for him to come back... unless what he had said in my dream was true.
And if that's the case, he must've seen Jack, as well.
"Jack... do you know about Simone?"
"Simone who?"
"Simone Mycroft."
Jack looked up at me as if I shouldn't even know about the man.
My suspicions were correct.
Before he could say anything to me, his phone rang for him to answer.
So, he did, and as the person from the other line talked, his eyes went to me and back down.
When the call ended, he got up.
"Reeva has something for me to do. I'll see you later."
As my brother left, I stump down in my chair. There was only me, myself, and I alone in the lunchroom, with my head sticking to Simone and Jack.

As I was walking to find Andy, Reeva spotted me.
"Lux," She calls, "may I have a word?"
I nodded as I walked to her, sitting beside her, in her bedroom.
"You did well in training. I sure underestimated you," The woman admitted.
"Thank you," I reply, not she of where the conversation is going.
"To have what is in store for the future, you and Andrew will be partnering in, so you two are dependent on one another."
"Yes, I understand."
Her dark black-brown eyes narrow to me. "Andrew... he's been... unfocused, have you noticed?"
"I suppose, yes."
"Lux, you are the closest person to him. You are his friend and love, which would mean, you should know what is happening," She explains, "Tell me, what is happening to Andrew?"
The sound of her voice timid me, I gulped, "H-He hasn't told me. He wouldn't tell me about it. You know, I don't pry."
Reeva cocked her eyebrow. "That's not all you know, is it?"
I sigh, "All I know, it's a dream he's been having, I guess. He doesn't sleep, or more or less he can't."
In honestly, if Andy did tell him what was wrong, I wouldn't tell Reeva, but the vague rest, I could tell, since it would lead her to nothing.
I left afterward.
My heart was beating out of my chest as I walked to my room, laying my back to the room, trying to recollect my thoughts.
All I know is that Andy better figure this out by next practice or tomorrow because I had the thickest suspicion that Reeva knew all of this... and that she just needed to be sure of loyalty.
All I could say is that Reeva has zero trusts in me and Andy, which is something that I, myself have doubts in, also.
