Immediately after uncovering another deceased classmate, Jiwoo was not shocked to hear another accusation thrown around. This time the accused was Jinha, who had appeared completely shirtless and sobbing as he tried to defend himself by stating that when he had woken up this morning, that is how he had found his friend, he was insistent that he had no part in it.

The other students seemed unconvinced as they listened to his story but Jiwoo was too exhausted to try and piece anything together.

Separating from the group, Jiwoo found herself wandering down to get some food, exhausted and hungry. She had expected to find nobody else there, jumping when she was Kyungjun sat in the corner, a cigarette pressed to his lips as he observed her quietly. Taking a drag from it, she watched him for a second before diverting her gaze and wandering over to the shelves of food.

It was awkward, she could feel his gaze burning into hers and it took everything within her not to turn around. Scanning her eyes over the items, she grabbed some ramen and a bottle of water, heading towards the microwave in the corner. As she prepared her food, she could feel his eyes on her and she pinched her eyes shut irritably, wondering if he would look away.

Turning around, she met his eye and rose her brow. "Do you want something?" Jiwoo questioned in annoyance and he merely smiled.

"Nope." Kyungjun replied, his innocent grin making her squint at him. "Is it illegal to look around the room?"

Jiwoo rolled her eyes. "You were looking at me, forgive me if I assumed that meant you wanted to say something." She retorted sarcastically, spinning around to open the microwave when it begun to beep.

"Am I not allowed to look at you?" Kyungjun commented, rising from his seat as he walked towards the girl, who was fumbling with her chopsticks. "You're very pretty."

Almost dropping the chopsticks on the floor, the girl turned the opposite direction from him to hide the crimson rushing to her cheeks. She opened and closed her mouth, attempting to formulate any response but nothing would come out.

Swallowing quickly, she attempted to compose herself. "Tell me something I don't know." Jiwoo managed to get out, sending a fake smile his way.

As he laughed, the girl moved past him and took a seat at the table, dropping her food in front of her. Silently, Kyungjun opposite her and took another drab of his cigarette.

Comfortable silence set over them as she ate and he simply observed her. It was such a domestic scene that made even themselves convinced they were not in a game of life or death, certain they had eternity remaining.

Following the revival of Junhee, he asked to meet the others in what appeared to be a meeting room. When entering the room, Junhee had pulled Jiwoo to the side, telling her about the sign they had seen on the wall, from the Police. They had stated that Junhee was a Citizen and signposted it from the Police. He had asked her quietly if she had anything to do with it but she merely shook her head, stating that there was another person with the Police role.

Nodding, the two separated and Jiwoo took a seat on one of the desks, perching on the table as she looked at the other students arriving. She watched as Kyungjun arrived, heading in her direction as he slid onto the table, situating himself by her side.

Capturing their attention, Junhee began his explanation. "I had no choice but to lie yesterday, I'm a Citizen." He told them, attempting to ignore the unconvinced glances that were shared between friends. "I don't know who the Doctor is, but thank you."

"Hey, you coming back to life is a separate matter, we can't be sure if you're a Citizen or not." Kyungjun announced, speaking up from where he sat by Jiwoo's side.

The girl rolled her eyes, nudging her elbow into his side. "Let it go, Kyungjun," she mumbled, her tone tired, "he's not the Mafia."

Mina frowned as she glanced between the siblings. "How come his identity wasn't revealed yesterday?" She questioned, backing up what Kyungjun had said prior. "The identities are usually revealed when they die."

"It wasn't revealed because he wasn't out of the game." Jungwon spoke up, staring ahead as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Unconvinced, Kyungjun turned his attention towards Junhee. "It really wasn't you who wrote the message on the wall?" He quizzed, still caught on the belief that Junhee was Mafia.

"I didn't." Junhee replied, tired of everyone constantly accusing him. "It's not like I had time to write that."

At the reminder, Jiwoo bit her lip and looked down at her lap, her hands fumbling together to try and distract her mind. Yesterday her brother had been dead and yet somehow here he was, alive and breathing.

Some part of her knew that tomorrow was not promised for any of them but she wanted to cling onto whatever hope she still held that maybe they would make it home together.

Jiwoo had to believe that could be possible.

"You probably wrote that in the middle of the night." Jinha chimed in and Junhee clenched his jaw. "Why would he lie to us that he was the Mafia unless he was crazy? Let's just vote him out."

Hard and cold eyes snapped in his direction. "I'd shut up now if I were you, you talk too boldly to say all evidence points in your direction, Jinha. You're quick to blame Junhee, are you trying to deflect the blame from yourself because you're hiding something?" Jiwoo quizzed mockingly, tilting her head in an oddly threatening manner.

"Besides, Junhee really is a Citizen." Yoonseo added, nodding along to what Jiwoo had said prior. "What would you do if the Police really wrote that?"

"Right, the Doctor might have saved Junhee, knowing he was a Citizen." Nahee agreed, glancing around the room anxiously.

From the opposite desk, Somi slouched in her chair with an annoyed eye roll. "Isn't finding the person who killed Seungbin a more pressing matter than interrogating Junhee?" She interrupted, her eyes landing on Jinha as she spoke about the boy's murder.

Noticing that all eyes seemed glued onto his form, Jinha grimaced. "It wasn't me." He attempted to defend instantly. "When I woke up, I found him dead."

"You said it was just you and him, right?" Yoonseo reminded him, suspicion lacing her words. "Did you see anything unusual?"

"I don't know." Jinha responded unhelpfully to her question. "The Mafia put blood on me on purpose when I was asleep." His eyes moved over to Kyungjun's hopefully. "Right, Kyungjun, you know that I'm a Citizen?"

The two, and Seungbin had been close friends prior to their arrival at the youth centre. When with one another they acted, in Jiwoo's words, like imbeciles. She did not like Kyungjun when he was around his friends as he was a completely new person, someone so unlikeable it made her feel nauseous at times. Sometimes she wondered if perhaps it was who he hung around that made him easily hated, or maybe it was just who he was, something that could never be changed.

Despite her disaproval of his friends, she knew he was close to them and so when Kyungjun's response came, she was shocked. He merely questioned how he would know, refusing to go along with his plan.

Glancing between the two, Jiwoo watched as Jinha clenched his jaw, anger blossoming in his eyes. Kyungjun continued to explain how the evidence pointed towards the boy, how he had a motive to kill Seungbin.

It was a tense few seconds that ticked away following this revelation and Jiwoo felt the air get thicker, as if it was choking them. Then, Kyungjun revealed his phone and scrolled through until he found the list of players.

Jinha watched him with hurt shining in his eyes. "How could you call yourself a friend, you jerk?"

His voice grew louder as he turned and walked in the direction of Kyungjun and Jiwoo. Immediately, he crashed into their table, grasping ahold of Kyungjun's shirt. At their collision, the table tipped and Jiwoo jumped to her feet to avoid being thrown to the floor. The other two were not so lucky, landing on the floor in a crumpled heap. Briefly, Kyungjun's eyes flickered towards Jiwoo's before they quickly moved back to his annoyed ex-friend.

Pulling himself to his feet, he threw insults at the boy and begun to lodge his foot into his side, not allowing him to get up. Jiwoo grimaced at the violence, noticing that Yoonseo had attempted to stop him but she had only been pushed to the side in retaliation.

"Vote him out!" Kyungjun exclaimed to the students and when Yoonseo attempted to defend the boy he rolled his eyes. "Shut your mouth and just do it, you're wasting time."

As he attempted to vote for Jinha, Junhee stepped forwards and pulled the phone straight out of his grasp. He moved it away when Kyungjun had tried to grab it, finally letting all the resentment he harboured come to the surface. "You'll keep doing whatever you want?" He quizzed and Kyungjun pressed his hands on his shoulders, nudging him slightly.

Jiwoo rolled her eyes and took a step towards them as Kyungjun pushed Junhee once again. "Fuck you, just give me back my phone."

Stepping beside her brother, Jiwoo slipped the phone into her own hands and smiled innocently, relying on the small hope she held that Kyungjun would not attempt to harm her in order to get his phone. "Keep acting like a prick and people are going to vote for you, Citizen or not." She warned him, eyes narrowing as they met his own.

Glancing at the other students, Junhee attempted to bring the conversation back to their collective purpose. "Let's reconvene at eleven pm." He told them, his eyes darting back to Kyungjun's specifically. "Let's not vote until then."

Slowly, Jiwoo rose her hand and held out the phone for the boy to take. He frowned and took it from her, their eyes meeting for a few seconds. Clenching his jaw, he pushed past her and made his way out of the room.

Looking between the other students and then the door, Jiwoo sighed and made the stupid decision to follow after her. Briefly hearing footsteps, she made her way through the hallways until she found him by the infirmary. He was perched on the side of one of the beds, his gaze on the wall before him while his phone rest beside him.

Entering the room, Jiwoo shut the door behind her and made her way towards the first aid supplies. Kyungjun barely looked in her direction as she grabbed what she needed. Grasping a cotton pad, she soaked it in alcohol before grasping the rest of the packet. Dropping the spare cotton pads on the bed next to him, she walked towards him, taking a seat beside him.

The boy finally turned to look at her and she motioned to the cotton pad and then at the slight cut on his face from when he had hit the ground earlier. Just as she reached out to disinfect the wound, a hand grasped around her wrist before she could do anything, his eyes darting towards hers as he stopped her movements.

Trying to ignore the increase of her heart rate, Jiwoo flickered her eyes from his face and then to the cotton pad. With a sigh, she shook her head. "Stop being so stubborn and accept my help, asshole, it's going to get infected if you leave it like that."

"Infection is the least of my concerns." Kyungjun told her harshly and the girl restrained an eye roll.

"Oh, that's fine then, I'll leave you to lose your eyesight because the infection spread to your eyes and you went blind." Jiwoo snapped childishly, ready to toss the cotton pad at him.

Kyungjun paused, as if comprehending what she told him. "That won't happen, right?" His tone was uncertain as he looked at her seriously.

At the fear in his voice, she let out a quiet chuckle. "Depends, do you want to try and find out?"

For a second he paused before dropping his hold on her hand, a silent acceptance as he gave her confirmation. Jiwoo watched as he closed his eyes, lifting his chin up slightly as his head inclined towards hers. Their closeness made her swallow and freeze momentarily, before she quickly snapped out of it and continued.

Noticing her reluctance, his lips curled up in amusement, although he remained silent. Using the cotton pad that she had soaked in alcohol, she lightly dabbed it against the wound on his cheek to disinfect it. Surprisingly, he remained still and quiet as he just observed her gentle movements, entrapped by her.

There was just something about her that had his sole attention transfixed.

"You know, more people would like you if you weren't such a dickhead to everyone." Jiwoo commented suddenly, keeping her eyes focused on what she was doing.

"Who cares if people like me, all that matters is that you like me," Kyungjun grinned at her and she restrained an eye roll, "right?"

"Who says I like you?" Jiwoo retorted, although her lips had turned up slightly, barely hiding her amusement.

It was silent for a few seconds, Jiwoo attending to him carefully and him just observing her, as if he was trying to fully comprehend her. Hesitatingly, the boy opened and closed his mouth before sighing, finally speaking up. "You do like me, right?" Kyungjun spoke softly, it caught her off guard momentarily.

"That depends, are we talking you in moments like this or you when you're around everyone else and being a complete dickhead?" Jiwoo quizzed, it had meant to be humerous but it just made her sad, he had potential that he would never let be anything but surface level.

When he did not reply, looking down at his lap, almost ashamed, the girl frowned. "The answer to the first one is yes, stupidly I do like you," she paused before adding, "sometimes."

Dropping the cotton pad beside her in the dirty pile, Jiwoo turned to the boy with a small smile, lost in the moment. "There, you're all better now, you're not going to die of infection." She joked and he chuckled, shaking his head at her playful smile.

As comfortable silence surrounded the two they realised how comfortable it was just to be in one another's presence. Jiwoo unlocked a different type of calamity within Kyungjun and he was still indecisive about whether he hated it or not. Turning to face the girl, he furrowed his brows, wondering if what he felt towards her could ever be reciprocated.

Noticing his gaze, Jiwoo smiled back at him and Kyungjun forgot about the threat looming over them, his eyes drifting down to her lips. That was the shift that made everything ten times more real, clicking the switch of recognition between the two. Her own eyes flickered downwards, momentarily transfixed on how it would feel if she just moved closer.

Leaning forwards, his lips connected with hers and she closed her eyes, reciprocating with as much excitement as him. Their lips worked feverishly, molding together as if that was their natural purpose, to be as one.

Jiwoo allowed her mind to shut off for a few brief seconds, uncaring about the wave of shame that was going to come crashing down on her.

When they pulled away, he rest his temple against hers as she let out a breathless chuckle. "I'll gladly take an infection if you treat me like that again." Kyungjun commented in a hushed whisper, as if sharing a secret with her.

Jiwoo merely laughed, a sound that Kyungjun was certain came from the heavens above, playfully pushing her shoulder against his. The girl moved slightly, resting her head on his shoulder as she shut her eyes, feeling a moment of contentment, oblivious to the hurricane awaiting them.
