A school bell rung as Jiwoo reopened her eyes, squinting at the sudden attack of brightness that hit her eyes. Shuffling herself off the floor and into a sitting position, she glanced around to see the other students slowly waking up, scanning the room with dazed and perplexed expressions on their faces. Beside her, her brother furrowed his brows as he attempted to recollect the events prior, his hand remaining intertwined with hers.

Panicked mumbles followed as their memories came back to them, recalling their classmate's crazed moment as he flung his body through the window, shattering it with his fall.

As if recalling the boy, Yoonseo stumbled to her feet, rushing towards the window, pausing as she looked down to see the fallen body.

Once she turned back around, the phones, that had been dropped during their sudden sleep, begun to buzz and the students glanced at one another wearily. Jiwoo pulled her phone into her grasp as the siren sounded from the speakers.

"Before the last vote closed, Police used their skill."

At this new information, Jiwoo furrowed her brows, that meant there was another police, other than her. She wondered who it could possibly be and who they had checked, had they found another Mafia?

The voice over the speakers continued and Jiwoo felt nausea pool as more information was given to the students. "Choi Juwon was executed by Mafia. Choi Juwon was Mafia. All participants, identify the Mafia, and begin to vote."

When the speaker went silent, Yoonseo moved to stand next to Junhee and Jiwoo, scanning her eyes across the other students. "Where's Juwon?" She asked as the others pulled themselves off the ground, all unsure as to what to do.

Allowing her brother to help her off the ground, Jiwoo grimaced as she listened to some students discuss going to the studio on the second floor to see who was controlling the speakers. A part of her knew that would only be a dead end, whoever set this up was smart enough not to be on the premises when it occurred.

While they rushed to the studio, the remaining students followed the sound of a scream, hurrying quickly. There, they arrived at the bathrooms, finding Jin Dabum clutching onto the wall as he backed away. Following his eyeline, they found a pool of blood creeping from under the stall and Jiwoo restrained a gag at the sight.

Blood always made her dizzy, she could barely handle seeing her own, nevermind somebody else's.

Nudging Junhee forwards, Kyungjun motioned towards the stall. "Class President, you open the door." He offered and Jiwoo snapped her eyes in their direction.

"Don't be a dick, Kyungjun, you do it if you're going to force someone else." Jiwoo told him as he rolled his eyes, making no attempt to move forwards.

Junhee sighed, pausing momentarily as he glanced from the blood staining the floor and to the closed door. Hesitantly, he took a cautious step forwards before pushing his hands against the door. Every second felt like eternity as they watched him, the door gradually opening.

Suddenly, they all wished they had never opened the door; flinching back with a cry of horror at the sight before them.

Crumpled against the wall lay Juwon's body, bloodied and unmoving. Crimson stained the white wall beside him and his head was slumped against it.

There was no question about it, the boy was not alive.

That nauseous feeling grew as Jiwoo took a step backwards, her body hitting the sink behind her. "Close the door, Junhee." She begged quietly, her voice strained and slightly panicked as realisation dawned on her.

"It's the Mafia game." Dabum called out, his voice sounding as if he was close to tears. "What if we all die too?"

At his words, Jiwoo paled and her eyes widened at the revelation, this was not just a simple game of Mafia, their actual lives were on the line here.

Kyungjun huffed, grasping the collar of the boy's shirt. "Shut your mouth, you idiot." He snapped harshly, glaring at the boy in his grip. "Who says we're dying?"

"Maybe the dead body in front of us." Jiwoo commented monotonously, Kyungjun sending the girl a sarcastic laugh, followed by an unimpressed glare.

Turning her eyes from the boy, she was thankful when Junhee took a step in front of her, blocking her view of the body. Just looking at it made her want to vomit. Despite her vision being slightly blocked, she could still see Yoonseo slowly approach the dead body, crouching near it. She grimaced and restrained a gag.

When Jungwon questioned what the girl was doing, Yoonseo waved her off, claiming that the blood was fresh, he had not been dead long. With that, she turned around and vomited in the corner, which was something that Jiwoo believed she was on the verge of doing.

Kyungjun stepped towards Junhee and placed both hands on the boy's shoulders. "Class President, what do we do now?" He asked the boy and Jiwoo frowned, wondering why they were suddenly relying on her brother to have all of the answers for them. "Huh? What now?"

Unfazed by his obvious hostility, Junhee calmly replied. "First, we must get out of here."

At that, Jiwoo found herself practically running to the door, hearing something about the others being alerted that they were leaving. Once she was out of the bathroom, it was like she could finally breathe again, although she could not get the sight of his pale and unmoving form out of her mind.

It was like every time she blinked, she saw him.

Following her actions, the others left the bathroom and sent a message to alert the rest of the students of their plans to leave. With barely any time to construct a full plan, they were running towards the lobby and out the doors.

Slowing their movements, the students looked around and paused, unsure what direction they should leave from.

Pointing towards the road, Junhee told his sister that he was certain he had seen a gas station that way and that they should go in that direction. The girl nodded and glanced at the other students as they continued, once again picking up the pace.

The students had barely made it off the stairs when that siren sounded once again, pausing their movements instantly. "The game must take place within the boundaries. The game must take place within the boundaries." That voice repeated the phrase and Jiwoo felt her body go numb, they had no way out.

Glancing at her phone, she noticed it had begun to flash red with a giant warning notification taking over the screen. She turned to share a grimace with her brother as they looked to the other students, noticing they were equally annoyed and perplexed. Turning their eyes towards the ground beneath them, they followed the white line that boarded them inside the 'game', separating them from the outside world.

"Guys, listen," Junhee called out quickly, turning to face the panicked students, "stay here for a moment."

Someone voiced their protests and Jiwoo glared in their direction. "Let him finish before complaining, alright?" She spoke condescendingly and the one who had interrupted her brother paused, looking at the ground to avoid her eye.

Taking that as a signal to continue, Junhee frowned. "Something's off."

One of the guys rushed over to the two Kim siblings and shook his head. "Do you believe this nonsense?" He snapped and Jiwoo restrained the urge to punch him, why were they insistent on yelling to prove a point?

"Considering we all just saw Yool go insane and try and kill himself, as well as Juwon's dead body...I'd say yeah, this nonsense is believable." Jiwoo replied with an eye roll, certain that guy's stupidity would get himself killed.

The boy, clearly driven by the same insanity that attacked Yool the night prior, glanced between the siblings. "I don't freaking care, I'm leaving." He announced, rushing in the direction they had been planning on leaving.

While the others yelled their protests and attempted to stop him, Jiwoo remained where she was, it was his own idiocy that was going to cost him his life. She watched from her prior spot as his friend jumped out of the barriers to coax the boy back into the boundary. Jiwoo knew it was too late for both of them when he clutched his head in agony, it was going to happen to him too.

"For breaking the rules, Lee Sanghwan will be executed. For breaking the rules, Kim Hyunseok will be executed."

From inside the boundary lines, the others had to watch in horror as the two boys groaned in agony before they suddenly changed. Alike Yool, their eyes bore nothingness, their very soul gone and overcome by something else. Once they rose from the ground, they stared one another down and Jiwoo got a horrible feeling in her stomach.

Crashing into one another, their bodies collided harshly, sending them both plummeting to the ground from the force of their collision. Jiwoo took a step back as she heard the screams of her classmates, unable to do anything to stop the attack before them. All they could do was stand and watch as their two classmates attempted to beat one another to the death.

Once one was dead, the other grasped a rock and lodged it into the side of his head repeatedly until he too dropped dead. There they lay, motionless and dead in front of their classmates who all bore the guilt that they could not do more.

"Lee Sanghwan and Kim Hyunseok were citizens."

Jiwoo found the strength to move, rushing towards her brother as she crouched down beside him, resting her hand on his shoulder as he stared mournfully at the bodies. She knew he took too much on, blamed himself for things that were out of his control. This was not his fault and she hoped he would know that, he did nothing but try and ensure everyone made it out safely but they had not listened to him, it was their own fault.

She just hoped he, and everyone else, saw that too.

Over the years she had been protective of her brother as he was a people pleaser, as long as others were happy, he was happy. That made him more likely to put up with their classmate's bullshit. Jiwoo, however, did not stand for it and always chimed in with a sarcastic retort or a snide comment that ensured Junhee was treat with the respect she believed he deserved.

Junhee did a lot for his classmates, he was a perfect Class President, but Jiwoo wished that everyone would stop relying on him for a solution, he only knew as much as the rest of them.

It just put more pressure on him and Jiwoo was unsure how much more pressure he could take before he cracked.
