My attention snapped back to Madelyn just as she reached Y/n and slid her arm around her waist. Scarlett stepped back, her face unreadable, and Madelyn calmly led Y/n away.

Scarlett was one of my closest friends, but Y/n was my little sister. Her happiness came first—always.

As I watched them disappear into the crowd, a nagging feeling settled in my chest. Whatever had just happened, it wasn't my place to interfere. But I'd keep my eyes open.

Because if anything—or anyone—threatened Y/n's happiness, I'd make sure it was handled.
