"I don't know, man," I muttered, leaning back on the couch, fingers absentmindedly spinning my beer bottle. "I feel like... this is it. Like, she's it."

Dylan smirked from his spot across from me, legs propped up on my coffee table. "Wow. Big words, Evans. You finally admitting you're a softie?"

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "No, but for realโ€”are you saying what I think you're saying?"

I hesitated, my fingers tapping against the glass. "I don't know. I mean... we've been through so much already, you know? And even when things got really bad, even when it would've been easier to just walk away... we didn't."

Dylan nodded. "That's how you know it's real."

I exhaled. "I feel like... eventually, it's where we're headed. Maybe not tomorrow, or next month, or even next year. But one day? Yeah."

Dylan grinned. "Damn. Look at you, talking about marriage and shit."

I shrugged, a small smirk pulling at my lips. "I mean, it makes sense, right? I love her. I love her kids. She's my family. So, yeah... I could see it."

Dylan whistled low, shaking his head. "Scarlett's gonna melt when she hears that."

"I melted when I heard what?"

I tensed immediately. Dylan's eyes lit up. I turned my head just in time to see Scarlett standing in the doorway, arms crossed, eyebrow raised, a suspicious look on her face.

Shit. "Uhโ€”" I cleared my throat. "How long have you been standing there?"

She smirked, stepping further into the room. "Long enough to hear my name and see Dylan looking way too entertained."

Dylan grinned at me. "Oh, you know, nothing major. We were just talking about how Y/n wants to marry you one day."

I glared at him. "Youโ€”" Scarlett froze.

Her arms tightened around herself, and for the first time in forever, she actually looked shy. Her cheeks flushed.

I blinked. "Are youโ€”are you blushing?" She scoffed immediately, turning away slightly. "I don'tโ€”no, I'm notโ€”"

"Oh my god," Dylan howled with laughter. "You are blushing. Holy shit."

I grinned, standing up and crossing the room to her, tilting my head. "Scarlett Johansson, are you flustered?" She groaned, burying her face in her hands. "Shut up."

I laughed, reaching out and gently pulling her hands away. "Babe."

She refused to meet my eyes. "Scar," I whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Talk to me."

She hesitated, biting her lip before finally whispering, "You really think about that?"

I softened.

I cupped her face, running my thumb along her cheek. "Of course, I do."

She swallowed. "You... want that?" I nodded, my voice unwavering. "With you? Yeah."

Her breath hitched slightly, and I felt her body relax against mine. Dylan sighed dramatically from behind us. "Damn, y'all are so cute. Someone should make a rom-com about you."

Scarlett smacked his arm without even looking. I chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You good?" She nodded slowly. "Yeah. I justโ€”" She exhaled, looking up at me. "I didn't know you thought about that."

I smiled softly. "Scar, I think about forever with you all the time." She definitely blushed again.

Dylan whistled. "Damn. That's wife shit right there." Scarlett groaned, burying her face in my chest this time. I chuckled, wrapping my arms around her. "Ignore him."

She mumbled something against my shirt, and I grinned. "What was that?"

She pulled back slightly, eyes narrowed. "I hate you." I smirked, leaning in until my lips brushed against her ear. "No, you don't."

She exhaled sharply, gripping my shirt.

Dylan clapped his hands. "Alright, that's my cue to leave before you two start making out in front of me." Scarlett flipped him off.

I laughed, watching as Dylan grabbed his jacket and saluted us both before heading out the door. The second it shut behind him, Scarlett sighed, resting her forehead against my chest. "You love messing with me."

I smirked, rubbing slow circles on her back. "I do."

She shook her head. "You really want that? Marriage? With me?"

I pulled back slightly, tilting her chin up so she had no choice but to look at me. "Scarlett, I want everything with you."

Her eyes softened. I leaned in, my lips brushing against hers. "One day, if you'll have me... I'd love to be your wife."

Scarlett inhaled slowly, her fingers tightening in my hoodie. "God, I love you."

I smiled against her lips. "Yeah?" She nodded. "Yeah."

I hummed, letting my hands slip down to her hips, pulling her flush against me. "Good. Because I plan on spending a long time loving you." Scarlett let out a breathless laugh, shaking her head. "You really know how to fluster me, don't you?"

I grinned. "It's my favorite thing to do." She groaned, but the smile on her lips betrayed her.

And as I pulled her closer, pressing three slow kisses against her mouth, I knewโ€”

This was my future. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

. . .

"So... we should probably talk about the nursery."

Madelyn looked up from her phone, raising an eyebrow. "You sound scared."

I scoffed. "I'm not scaredโ€”I'm just... cautiously approaching the topic."

She smirked, setting her phone down. "Because you know I'm about to go full Pinterest Mom on your ass?"

I sighed, running a hand down my face. "Exactly."

Madelyn grinned, rubbing her stomach absentmindedly. "Alright, let's hear your very responsible, neutral ideas."

I exhaled, pulling out my phone and scrolling to the notes app. "So, I was thinking something gender-neutral, likeโ€”"

Madelyn immediately scrunched her nose. "Boring."

I groaned. "Can you at least let me finish before you roast my ideas?"

She smirked. "Fine. But I'm already judging you."

I rolled my eyes. "I was thinking something softโ€”like warm neutrals, but with pops of color. Maybe a forest or celestial themeโ€”something calming."

Madelyn hummed, tilting her head. "Okay, I don't hate that."

I grinned. "Thank you for your approval, Your Highness."

She smirked, leaning back against the couch. "So... are we talking full DIY nursery, or are we hiring someone?"

I hesitated. "I mean... I'd like to be hands-on with it." Madelyn smiled softly. "Yeah?"

I nodded. "Yeah. I don't want to just throw money at itโ€”I want to be part of building something for them." Her expression softened, and she nodded slowly. "Okay. I like that."

I exhaled in relief. "Cool. So, are we thinking forest or celestial?" She smirked. "Oh, neither."

I frowned. "What?" Madelyn grabbed her phone and immediately pulled up a Pinterest board.

My stomach dropped. "Oh, no." She grinned way too excitedly. "Oh, yes."

She turned the screen toward me, and my worst fears were confirmed. The entire board was filled with... Disney-themed nurseries.

I blinked. "Madz." She gasped dramatically. "Oh my god, you hate it."

I sighed, rubbing my temples. "I don't hate it, I justโ€”"

"You hate magic." I groaned. "That is not what I said."

She pointed at me. "You don't like joy." I dragged a hand down my face. "Jesus Christ."

Madelyn grinned. "Okay, okayโ€”hear me out. A subtle Disney theme."

I raised an eyebrow. "Define 'subtle.'" She tapped her chin. "Like... vintage Winnie the Pooh."

I hesitated. "That's... actually kinda cute." She gasped. "Victory!"

I shook my head, laughing. "Fine. But no giant Mickey Mouse heads on the walls."

Madelyn pouted. "What if it's, like, one tasteful Mickey?"

I groaned. "God, help me."

She chuckled, patting my knee. "You're doing great, co-parent." I smirked. "Glad you think so."

Madelyn stretched, then shifted slightly. "Okay, now for the fun partโ€”gender reveal." I rubbed my temples. "Can we just do something simple?" Madelyn cackled.

I groaned. "That's a no, isn't it?"

She nodded way too excitedly. I sighed. "Alright, hit me."

She grinned. "I was thinking a big partyโ€”family, close friends, super cute aesthetic, maybe a custom cakeโ€”" I grimaced. "Jesus. You want this to be a whole thing."

Madelyn smirked. "Y/n, everything with me is a whole thing."

I snorted. "No shit."

She nudged me. "Come on, don't pretend like you're not gonna have fun." I sighed dramatically. "Alright, fine. We can do a big party." Madelyn gasped. "You're actually agreeing to something fun?"

I rolled my eyes. "I am fun." She smirked. "You're like, medium fun."

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Okay, soโ€”do we wanna find out the gender beforehand, or be surprised with everyone else?"

Madelyn hesitated. I raised an eyebrow. "Madz?"

She bit her lip. "I kinda wanna be surprised." I nodded slowly. "Yeah?"

She exhaled. "Yeah. I mean... this whole thing has been unexpected. Might as well let this be a surprise too."

I smiled. "Alright. Surprise it is."

Madelyn beamed. "I'm excited." I smirked. "Yeah, yeah. Just don't go overboard, okay?"

She grinned way too mischievously. "No promises." I groaned. "God help me."

I walked into the living room and immediately stopped in my tracks.

There was Y/nโ€”sprawled across the couch, arms stretched out, completely passed out. And on top of her? Both of my children.

Cosmo was curled up against her chest, clutching onto her hoodie like it was his personal security blanket. Rose, on the other hand, had somehow managed to drape herself across Y/n's legs, her face smushed against the fabric of her sweatpants. I melted.

I quietly pulled my phone out and snapped a picture, because there was no way in hell I was letting this moment slip away undocumented. And then, because I was completely whipped, I walked over and gently ran my fingers through Y/n's hair.

She stirred slightly, letting out a very sleepy, very adorable groan.

"Scar?" I smiled. "Hey, babe." She blinked at me, her voice raspy from sleep. "Your kids... ambushed me."

I chuckled, brushing my fingers over her jaw. "They do that." She exhaled. "I tried to fight back."

I smirked. "Clearly, you lost." Y/n let out a soft chuckle. "Brutally."

I leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You're really good with them, you know." Y/n hummed, shifting slightly. "They're cool little humans."

I softened. "They love you." She opened one eye lazily, giving me a sleepy smirk. "Yeah?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

She grinned. "Good. 'Cause I love them too."

I felt something in my chest ache in the best way possible. Cosmo stirred slightly, letting out a tiny sigh before burying his face further into Y/n's hoodie.

Y/n smirked. "He's never letting go of me, is he?" I chuckled. "Nope."

Rose let out a quiet snore.

Y/n grinned. "Your kids are weird." I snorted. "You are weird."

She gave a lazy smile. "And yet, you love me anyway."

I sighed dramatically. "It's exhausting."

Y/n chuckled, squeezing my hand. "Wouldn't have it any other way." I smiled, brushing my lips against her knuckles.

And in that moment, I knewโ€”this was it.

We weren't just a couple anymore. We were a family.

. . .

๐˜/๐'๐ฌ ๐๐Ž๐•

By the time we got the kids upstairs and tucked in, I was exhausted. Scarlett, on the other hand? Looked like she was plotting something.

She leaned against the bedroom doorframe, arms crossed, eyebrow raised. I smirked. "What?"

She tilted her head. "You look cute when you're all tired and soft." I scoffed. "I'm not soft."

Scarlett stepped closer, dragging her fingers down my chest. "Mmm. I don't know. You did let my five-year-old use you as a human pillow." I swallowed as her nails scraped lightly against my stomach. "That doesn't make me soft."

She hummed, stepping even closer. "And then you let my daughter interrogate you about your feelings?"

I sighed. "Rose is terrifying." Scarlett smirked. "Adorable." I narrowed my eyes. "You enjoy watching me suffer, don't you?"

She grinned, fingers slipping under the hem of my hoodie. "A little bit." I inhaled sharply as she dragged her nails up my stomach, slow and teasing.

"Scarlett."

She smirked, fully aware of what she was doing. "What?" I swallowed. "You're a menace."

She leaned up, pressing her lips just under my jaw. "Mmm." I groaned. She laughed, gripping my hoodie and tugging me onto the bed.

I landed with a grunt, blinking up at her as she straddled my waist. Scarlett smirked, running her hands up my arms before pinning them above my head. I blinked. "Oh."

She grinned. "Problem?"

I exhaled. "Not a problem at all." Scarlett rolled her hips just slightly, smirking at the way I immediately tensed. "Still think you're not soft?"

I groaned. "You're gonna kill me." She chuckled, leaning down until her lips brushed against mine. "Mmm. That'd be a shame." I breathed her in, my hands itching to touch her, but she refused to let me go.

I smirked. "You're enjoying this way too much." Scarlett hummed, biting down softly on my bottom lip. "Mmm. Maybe." I groaned, tilting my head back. "Scar."

She grinned. "Say it again." I flipped us over in one move, pinning her down instead.

Scarlett gasped, eyes wide. I smirked. "Got you."

She huffed, flushed and breathless. "You're so annoying." I dipped my head, trailing kisses down her throat. "And yet, you love me anyway." Scarlett sighed, tilting her head back. "Once again. Exhausting."

I grinned. "Good thing you're stuck with me forever, huh?" She flushed deeper. I pulled back, watching her expression soften.

Scarlett swallowed. "You mean that?" I cupped her face, brushing my thumb over her cheek. "Of course, I do, you're my forever."

She let out a shaky breath. "Good." I smiled. "Yeah?"

She nodded. "Yeah." I leaned in, pressing my forehead against hers. "Scarlett?"

She hummed. "I'm never letting you go." She smiled, wrapping her arms around my neck. "I'd kill you if you tried."

I grinned, pressing my lips against hers. And as we melted into each other, the world faded away. This wasn't just a moment.

It was forever.
